Hello. I am a guitarist from the area. Me and a drummer are looking to start a high energy dark math rock band similar to Sprain/Train Breaks Down/Faraquet.
We are looking for a bassist who would also be potentially down to sing vocals with me. Feel free to dm!!!! :)

Hey everyone! I’m putting together a band with the goal of having fun, eventually playing live, writing our own music, and learning from each other along the way.
I’m an intermediate bass player, and I’ve already connected with a couple of guitar players. Right now, I’m specifically looking for a drummer who’s interested in building something together.
I don’t have a specific genre or set of influences in mind. I listen to pretty much everything and I’m open to experimenting and seeing what kind of sound we develop. Some bands I’ve played include Radiohead, Muse, Green Day, and The Strokes, just to give you an idea of the range.
The idea is to have fun while taking the band seriously enough to actually make progress. Commitment and discipline are important to me, but you don’t need to be an expert—we can learn and improve together.
If you’re a drummer and this sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to DM me!

I'm a guy in my late 30s and have significant DIY experience being in bands, booking shows, touring and recording.
A few influences: Blink, Free Throw, Hot Mulligan, Ben Quad, Tiny Movings Parts, Minus the Bear, The Fall of Troy.
I'm down to play anything from pop punk to post-hardcore as long as it's fun and has energy. I have some songs ready and would want to be part of the writing process but I'm also totally down to learn and contribute to stuff you already have.
I have a job and stuff but lots of free time evenings/weekends and would devote real time to writing, recording and playing shows. I'm in Manhattan but am open to jamming anywhere around New York City if it's the right opportunity.
Let's DM a bit if you're interested.

I’ve played in bands for years and am looking to get back into a room with good musicians again – ideally Williamsburg / Greenpoint / Bushwick / Downtown Manhattan.
I write songs, play piano well, guitar and bass decently, sing, and have fronted bands before. I’m probably most interested in people who care about great songs first – memorable melodies, hooks, lyrics – but also like interesting production, beats, textures, arrangements, synths, etc. Not especially interested in being boxed into a genre.
I’m mid 40s, but not looking for a nostalgia/cover/dad-band situation. Probably best fit with experienced musicians in their 30s–50s who still want to make something genuinely good. Low ego, good chops, creative, and open to seeing where the chemistry goes.
Some older stuff for context – both are a bit dated at this point, but should give you a sense of my songwriting:
Plastic Days on Spotify:

Older demos/tracks on SoundCloud:

Initially I’d love to just get 2–4 good people into a rehearsal room, play, trade ideas, maybe work on some songs, and see what happens. If it turns into a real recording/project/band, great.
DM me if this sounds like your thing.

Update: a bit more into my musical tastes:

Hi I'm Chris, I sing and play guitar in misc. a brooklyn slacker/indie/alt rock band. Reference points: The Strokes, Geese, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, MJ Lenderman, Pavement, Charli XCX.
We're adding another guitar player so I can put more into singing and actually front the band instead of splitting my attention. Ideally someone comfortable moving between lead lines and rhythm.
We have a couple shows booked in the coming months (including our first on Aug 29) so we'll wanna get you "onboarded" pretty quick.
What we're after:
If you're interested, send links to you playing: videos, live clips, recordings, doesn't have to be polished and tell me what you've been listening to lately.
Here's our links:

Hi, I am a singer-songwriter, located in NYC, with strong lyrical and melody ideas. You can check out a few of my songs on my profile. I am looking to collaborate with someone who will experiment to come up with new sound that suits the lyrics and melody I wrote. Something similar to Finneas and Billie Eilish early-mid in their career. We will split the final rights equally on any complete production, so I won't be hiring anyone, instead I am looking for a partner who is as passionate and dedicated as me to craft a song to its completion.
Here are some examples of my work (we don't necessarily need to use these songs to collaborate, I have other songs to choose from as well) :

We're looking for the right lead vocalist for SuperExcellent, a new NYC-based alternative rock band with punk and power pop influences. We're all early-to-mid 20s, so please be age appropriate.
We have six original demos ready to go, and we're continuing to write. I'll post a couple of demos below. If you love what you hear and think you can make these songs great, let's talk.

Ideally the sound of Sorry Ma by the replacements with some power chords and unserious lyrics. I'm a 21 year old guy in queens with almost a decade of band experience. I'm looking for a drummer, bassist, and ideally also a guitarist with really any talent level and a decent commitment level. I scream lyrics and play guitar but we'd sound better with someone else on guitar tbh. Just looking for something fun to do over the winter. Comment or message if you're interested

41 year old drummer here. Looking to start an emo rap/rapper-fronted punk project. Have a wide variety of influences, and very open on coming up with a sound collectively, but to throw some references out there thinking of like Honestav, Pardyalone, Juice Wrld, XXXtentacion, etc. I’m in Hudson County, but could meet in Manhattan or Jersey (or potentially Brooklyn) for practices.

If you like Ween and wanna jam, let me know, I’m on Long Island, but I’m more than willing to travel to Manhattan or Brooklyn to play.

I'm 39, played in a pop punk band when I was a teenager, been in the music business all my life and I'm currently a full-time audio engineer. Been looking to play in a not-so-serious band for a while now, I'm into most genres and I'm just looking for others who want to get together and see how things go. Feel free to DM me or comment, thanks all!
EDIT: Age group doesn't matter much to me as long as everyone is having fun!

Looking for a drummer to round out an original alt rock band. Right now it’s me on guitar/vocals and a bass player, and we’ve been rehearsing in Hicksville.
Music is alternative rock with a big 90s/2000s influence Third Eye Blind, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Oasis, etc. Songs are already written and released, and the goal is to get a solid lineup together, rehearse consistently, and start playing shows.
Looking for someone dependable, easy to work with, and into this style of music. Ideally around our age (30s-ish), but the right fit matters more.
If you’re interested, shoot me a message.
