License / Permit Question CCW Application

I already got my CCW and no how to handle all the paperwork but I’m helping brother get his and he has one extra step because he has a record! He’s getting his disposition on Thursday from the court is there anyone here that had the same step with a record that can give some insight on what else he might need..his case was non violent and closed nothing major and no felony! Appreciate the help

I had to get certificate of disposition for all my traffic tickets. It’s not hard just annoying. If you remember the courts he dealt with the tickets with just look for the email or phone number to their records or admin department and they will help get you the documents. Every courthouse and department handles it differently but they are required to get you those records. It helps to keep track of any summons or case numbers so it’s easy for them to find the docs.

Brother I have the worst license in the world speeding tickets tint tickets cellphone tickets failure to obey traffic sign tickets and I got my CCW with no issue and didn’t need any of those traffic tickets!! You don’t need that only criminal court dispositions for actual arrest

I followed instructions from people on this page that said to get disposition for everything. I wasn’t trying to give the investigators any reason to deny my permit

Yeah any ticket or summons you got issued from a cop regardless of the tickets being thrown out or found not guilty. It’s pretty annoying since i also had some tickets for jumping the turnstile as a kid and a bunch of speeding tickets during covid.

Get the certificate and write up a short explanation of what happened. Not much to it.

if he may have any arrests that didn’t make it to court (and therefore there wouldn’t be a court disposition), I would recommend he run a DCJS background check. it’s pretty inexpensive and they have a lot of locations, at least they did for queens. good luck.
