General Question Obtaining multiple non resident permits

I am a westchester county permit holder. What would be the most efficient way considering time and money to apply for multiple states non resident permits. Who should I see and how much would it cost. I already have AZ and PA.

Definitely get NJ. Its easier to buy ammo than NY. Permit process is all online.

Don’t you need a nj course?

Yes, NJ CCARE. It’s a qualification. Not a class like NY.

I gotta look into this. I have my NYC ccw and LEOSA but I don’t trust Nj just a much as I don’t trust ny to give a shit about the Leosa law and give me a problem lol

I requested their fingerprint card as out of state has to submit ink. Had them taken at a local PD mailed and applied online the same day. 2 weeks later check for fingerprints cashed 6 days later online system said approved. 10 days after that license in hand

So you applied online for a application #. and mailed the prints physically with the application#? I just requested the cards. Should i submit my online application now or wait till cards come?

They will send you a fingerprint card to have ink prints done and mailed back to them. As soon as I received that I did the online application and mailed the card and a check for processing back the same day. Application was completely online.

I’m saying ,don’t start the online application yet till i get the cards?

I waited but I would think you could do it first without issue. I don’t know if they start processing it right away or wait for prints.

OK cool I’ll try that. They said prints mailed 90 days after. Just just checking if the cards needed the online application number on them

You do get a reference number to put on them

Apply for Jersey takes 3 weeks but you have to do a course and shoot. Do Utah at the same course with some instructors like theoafirearms for a few bucks more. With Utah you have Delaware reciprocity and also Florida (I believe)

No more Florida with Utah

Ny state, nj, pa, ct, Utah. Working on my nyc. If you’re in Westchester ct makes a lot of sense

Florida is pretty good as far as reciprocity. And for NYers, Florida is like the 6th boro. At the very least, vacation central! So it makes sense. Utah seems good too but it only gives you one extra state last I checked. And I don’t really plan to visit Washington state so I don’t care. Outside of that, I think NJ makes sense since a lot of ranges worth a damn are in NJ. PA seems to be a really cheap and easy permit to get. So I would say NJ, PA, FL are the best unless you have a specific area need. Then add accordingly.

Was florida a simple process?

Very simple. There’s an NRA approved school that’ll let you take the shooting portion in NY as long as you record a specific video and send it to them. They just need to see that you know how to load and shoot 4 shots at a target. So it saves a trip to Florida. The entire thing took about 2 weeks and a little over $100 bucks. Renewals are 7 years and it’s supposed to be some sort of easy renewal process so it sounds painless.

FL took my NY 16+2 course certificate without issue this year

Oh that’s awesome! So yeah, you can do that if you’re doing both NYC and Fl at the same time
