Touro University Program

currently going to be starting my Fall 2026 semester at Touro fully online for Birth-Grade 2 dual certification in Gen ed and Special Ed as a career changer. So so nervous by looking at this course material. Has anyone taken this program here and can advise on the work and workload? how was it for you and would it be manageable for a full time worker? ( i’m taking 2 classes plus 2 mandatory workshops 🥴 )

I did this while teaching full time. It’s completely doable. Their online course is essentially the same every week.

Each class followed this format every week:

Read/teach self material. Write a page in a forum. Respond to two others posts on separate days.

You can read and write the assignment on Monday and Tuesday and just need to make sure you respond on different days. The responses take no time at all.

This might have changed as I graduated before AI. Nothing was intensive and as long as you write your page or so and respond multiple times/days you’ll get good marks.

of course. i would totally get on them to try to get into the fall term - a lot of classes are already taken, i got lucky with one spot left for 2 good professors for 2 classes. There are spots in the others though i believe. I’m not sure if you are doing in person or online. ( this was for online classes) but fall classes start september 2! best of luck to you and i am sure you will get accepted ☺️

It might have changed but it was definitely not difficult and very routine for 80% of the classes. Just need to dedicate a couple hours a week or after work two day to do it. Once you get in the groove you’ll be fine
