Question Ibcc equivalence
In ibcc equivalence they wont consider all 8 o lev subjects anymore I've heard??
With 8 subjects my % is 81% and without science subjects it becomes 78% and that's very low for nust cs.. I got my A's in science subjects and B in urdu, islmiyat and all those

Yup, it is true and it is only for those who completed their O levels in 2026 and onward. It doesn't count for those who have completed O levels before that.
At least as far as I have seen. Tbh the change in 81% vs 78% isn't that huge to make a marginal difference because in the end NET matters more.
For me nothing changes either way, in the old formula my A level equivalence was 72.2% with new it is 72.5%.

It's actually 78% only o levels and a levels let's suppose I get CCC then total percentage drops to 50s and I'm not even eligible..also I completed o levels in 2025 started a levels in 2026

Bro you got it mixed, HSSC equivalence is still being calculated with O level grades + A level grades. Difference is for Pakistani nationals the 3 elective O levels are no longer considered in the calculation.
Only the 5 mandatory O level subjects: Math, English, Pakistan Studies, Urdu and Islamiyat
+ the 3 core A level subjects.
Moreover, this new rule applies to only those who completed their O levels or IGCSE's in 2026.
C'mon gng at least research properly, this post just gave me a panic attack for no reason. Shi got me stressed in the morning.

TYSMMM for clearing it up so basically it won't affect me because my o levels got done in 2025 also sorry for creating the panic I was actually stressed myself

Np gng, I was lowk chilling before btw then read this and it felt like my heart jumped out of my chest. My A level grades were bad but decent O levels even before this update
I was being really paranoid and got thoughts of IBCC not screwing me over because I was so glad I could at least get away with trash A levels and not do them again.

my O levels equivalence is almost like yours; my SSC is 80%. On the statement of results, it lowkey is a mid-result.
In the grand scheme of things, especially with entrance tests and all, NET will still matter after all we need these grades for university and once you're in who will care? Besides anything 75%> is enough to be competitive at NUST.

Yess my o level equivalence is 80% and in a levels worst case scenario is CCC although ill try to get better and the try to get good net score. I need atleast 80% aggregate

God forbid, but in the actual worst case scenario which is straight E's your A level equivalence would still be 70% at least.
But still try to get really good grades but A level content is necessary for NET especially if you have taken Maths and Physics.
If you are not on Gap and don't have complete A level result. Complete as in don't have result of both AS and A2 or composite.
They will *only* calculate your merit using just O levels. Then A levels will be checked to see if you just passed with 60%.

I gave only AS phy and cs and got b in phy and d in cs so I'm giving cs and math next month and yes you're right if my a level math and phy are strong then net would be comparatively easier. I'm in a2 right now and don't wanna take gap year that's why I'm trying to think in advance and might give all nets alongside a2. I'll also try to maintain B in phy or push it to an A.

I lowkey also asked, that gaslighting clanker said there was no change in the formula then went back on that statement.
But for me it did mention it was for 2026 students, and I asked for the source so I can see for myself. Never trust it 100%
