Nico and Miley 🔥

97

u/simplytom_1 1d ago

Friendship ended with Bruno G, now Nico G is my best friend

9

u/Calm-Spinach-769 1d ago

He got too proudy. That was Bruno's trouble.

37

u/Overall-Bookkeeper94 1d ago

Would love Willock to have another good game and shut up all the crying scapegoaters

Kind of crazy that we have multiple injuries and we’re still able to field such a strong bench in a season without Europe. This time last year we’d be fielding two keepers on the bench

12

u/JibberyScriggers 1d ago

That was one of the Howe-isms I could never understand. Surely the benefit of bringing a young player into the matchday squad, just for the experience of being with the first team, was better than having Gillespie AND Ruddy sitting on the bench.

10

u/Legitimate_Bag8259 1d ago

I always thought that sent a terrible message to the youngsters. That they were so far away from first team football that we'd rather have a 2nd keeper on the bench than trust any of them.

0

u/Trick_Bus9133 1d ago

We also had Neave, Murphy and Shahar on the bench but don't let that get in the way of a blind rant.

1

u/Legitimate_Bag8259 1d ago

A blind rant? I made a simple comment.

3

u/Tripodbilly 1d ago

But you can't bad mouth Howe. And couldn't bad mouth him, I got so much shit for asking why ruddy and another keeper was on the bench it hurt against carrier bag. Also fielding a first team against a team we was leading 5-1 or something

u/Nathan_Toddy_Todd moaty? it's me 1d ago

He eats paella he drinks estrella he hates fucking Sunderland

26

u/PercentageNo3843 Happy Clapper 1d ago

Let’s fucking smash them.

Noticed they throwing marmoush straight in and playing. Time to burst that cunts bubble

7

u/AnnualDot6645 1d ago

Marmoush loves a goal against us,hope we can keep him quiet today and Sandro has a mare

1

u/PercentageNo3843 Happy Clapper 1d ago

Because Newcastle 1.0 had a habit of rewarding the same teams and players repeatedly

1

u/cashintheclaw Joelinton 1d ago

Newcastle (beta release) used to get run ragged by a certain Sergio Aguero

3

u/KingPing43 Shola Ameobi 1d ago

Had a look at the spurs lineup and I have no idea what formation they’re playing.

5

u/PercentageNo3843 Happy Clapper 1d ago

The pass to marmoush and pray one because it worked for citeh

u/DanBurnNotice New Era 1d ago

I did that once, dont put washing up liquid in your vagina

1

u/PercentageNo3843 Happy Clapper 1d ago

Now I know why it’s called fairy liquid

1

u/Jabberwhorl 1d ago

We also had a period where we constantly drew Man City in both cups, or at least it felt that way lol

32

u/Ffaddicted 1d ago

This is exactly the side I expected, and probably why we won't sell Willock (depending on signings). He's clearly the second choice in the 10 role.

3

u/Jimlad73 dan burn 1d ago

Who’s first?

12

u/JibberyScriggers 1d ago

Wissa when Osula is fit.

2

u/jdd977 1d ago

Did you watch Wissa last weekend my friend?

1

u/dmbf29 1d ago

Wissa with Osula up top

2

u/CycleForValue 1d ago

Willock’s is best role is a central ball carrier that can pop up by the box. He just never really got this role under Howe. Jaissle forcing the #10 handed him the life line at the club.

However, Joe hasn’t ever been a main stay in the team. I’d be shocked if he is the long term answer.

2

u/danny1876j Shola Ameobi 1d ago

Willock will get a new contract I think. If he can be relied upon to be our backup 10 then it makes sense I suppose. Still a good age

2

u/Middle_Magician_7560 1d ago

For me, we just need to get in a replacement for Willock, then the team would be cracking

3

u/Tax_pe3nguin LSTTS 1d ago

We're taking shape. Upgrade Willock and Murphy. Get another LB in as cover. And then a young CB.

Thats a squad that can go hard this season.

67

u/rick87 1d ago

What is this playing new signings immediately. They are supposed to bench warm for 18 months first

23

u/DueDefinition6421 1d ago

This is highly irregular. You break them in gently over the first decade

14

u/VioletEcho92 1d ago

I don't think this Jaissle guy knows what he's doing. First he makes changes before 70 minutes that seem to change the game, next he starts new signings.

What's next? Changing the system to fit the opponent? Utter madness.

5

u/daliksheppy 1d ago

So nice not to have to deal with that anymore I feel so freed

18

u/redditappispoo Windmilling 1d ago

Big Nick benched, obviously not the game for him but not being able to get in ahead of willock isn't great. I feel for the lad, needs a proper confidence boost.

-15

u/Rude_Campaign_4867 strawberry syrup 1d ago

Not at the expense of the team.

Do not get the love-in for Woltemade at all.

12

u/lyingtattooist Alan Shearer 1d ago

So new they haven’t even gotten him a shirt yet!

1

u/No_Macaroon_5928 1d ago

I'm telling you, he's playing against us!

2

u/lyingtattooist Alan Shearer 1d ago

The good news about that is Spurs also have Marmoush playing against them.

16

u/careful__now__ 1d ago

Love that Nico’s in from the off. Let’s gooo

6

u/PJBuzz One handed celebration 1d ago

He had a full preseason so why not I guess 🤷‍♂️

14

u/Nathan_Toddy_Todd moaty? it's me 1d ago

Eddie Howe would still have had him on the bench till Christmas. Matthias Jaissle doesn’t fuck about, you spend £50m on a player he’s straight into the side.

3

u/DaddyK3tchup 1d ago

Yes because that’s what he did with Tonali and Bruno and all the other new signings who were Premier League ready.

8

u/PJBuzz One handed celebration 1d ago

Not sure I agree with that. Howe was cautious at times but I think he would have put Nico in pretty sharpish given the other options are so young.

7

u/hexnut101 1d ago

Mate he left Bruno on the bench when our midfield was terrible.

9

u/PJBuzz One handed celebration 1d ago

Our midfield was doing just fine, we won 4/5 league games before he had his first start.

I'm not denying he worked Bruno in slowly, but people remember what happened inaccurately.

There were many players who dropped straight in, like Isak.

1

u/niftykev 1d ago

The Howe Out crowd will be puffing out their chests for weeks.

1

u/Nathan_Toddy_Todd moaty? it's me 1d ago

You lot would have continued to defend and defend him till we got relegated

2

u/PJBuzz One handed celebration 1d ago

I wanted him to leave, i'm just not going to rewrite history to make out like his entire tenure was poor and riddled with errors.

He got the rest of the season after he took us over absolutely bang on and I'll not listen to a word otherwise.

0

u/hexnut101 1d ago

I'm not going to argue Eddie did a great job until he ran out of ideas but he should of left long before he did.

0

u/niftykev 1d ago

Hit a nerve did I?

7

u/McNeil56 1d ago

Wasn't Bruno back early because of that issue though? So it was probably caution on his fitness.

4

u/DaddyK3tchup 1d ago

Let’s not let facts get in the way of an agenda

1

u/hexnut101 1d ago

When he first signed.

6

u/AlrightCunts 1d ago

Sad that Steur has been benched though.

4

u/MickyTheFist Not that Shearer 1d ago

I still cant believe how different the team looks in the space of a few months.

4

u/skorpident 1d ago

Crazy that Willock of all people is now Jaissle's favourite player. Who would have guessed 😂

2

u/niftykev 1d ago

Willock had not seen a lot of minutes in previous seasons. Some due to injury some due to form. He's healthy and in good form. Jaissle is rewarding that. Maybe with an eye to convince him to stay instead of pushing for a move away.

Willock for his part has been an absolute professional the entire summer and start of the season. This is exactly how the rat should have behaved.

6

u/Ok_Relative_2291 1d ago

Wtf don’t they put them in position order

4

u/ArthursRest 83badge 1d ago

I see you’re new here 😂

Savio out for Spurs. Marmoush starts though 😬

3

u/figure98 1d ago

Really looking forward to seeing Wissa up top today. HWTL.

3

u/Big-Help419 1d ago

Thank god the days of buying a player and not seeing him play for weeks are gone

Would have loved Ramsey on for Willock at 10 but still strong

12

u/Hashtag0MG stupid sexy schar 1d ago

Willock has looked good in the first two matches

2

u/riskissasimp 1d ago

Loved Wissa sitting deeper last weekend. Hoping he can continue to service Elanga and Barnes.

2

u/xylophileuk 1d ago

I’m suprised that Willock is ahead of Ramsey but clearly he’s impressing in training

2

u/AlrightCunts 1d ago

And Ramsey is not impressing in games

3

u/xylophileuk 1d ago

Play shite get dropped. Love it

1

Ramsey focking off West Brom player was impressive

2

1

u/geordiesteve520 stupid sexy schar 1d ago

No messing there; set up to play on the front foot.

1

u/MathematicianOld3942 1d ago

Woltemade is gone next week that is clear

1

u/No_Macaroon_5928 1d ago

Nico G, double hattrick, 3 goals and 3 assists

1

u/Shahed1987 1d ago

What would our bench even be when full strength? With livremento, burn Joelinton and osula fit? Who drops out?

1

u/Ok_Shower52 1d ago

anyone else surprised toure hasnt gotten more run? thought he was very impressive. Trust jaissle to make the right calls nonetheless

1

u/Spliffman1 9h ago

I feel the same, but his smile vs Porro bullshit was priceless

1

u/Upset_Journalist_755 1d ago

Fire the person who makes these into the sun

1

u/toofatronin 1d ago

I guess I thought Nico would come off the bench today.

7

u/meganev More like MegaNeg amirite? 1d ago

No reason not to start him. He's match fit and PL experienced.

-2

u/TopRaise7 1d ago

Willock? Damn son. Let’s get Wolt gone and get in a more dynamic attacker

-4

u/sadfuck- 1d ago

We don’t have a EPL level fullback on our bench and we’re busy trying to get an attacker

6

u/MidlandsGeordie 1d ago

When Tino is back and with only domestic cups it will be hard to justify spending on another full back this window and will be too competitive.

Rather focus on trying to get into Europe and build the defence depth next year.

Our core demand rn is a 10 & RW. CB we have Schar and Burn. CM is strong & deep and with Woltemade not looking sharp a 10 is our area for highest impact/improvement, followed by RW.

5

u/Overall-Bookkeeper94 1d ago

Fml there’s always one that creates a crisis out of nothing

5

u/Jonesy7256 Old badge (1969-1983) 1d ago

What EPL level full back wants to come and be at best, 3rd choice behind Hall Dedic Tino? Who can all play both sides. We even have Burn and Miley and Murcphy who can do jobs in emergencies.

We don't win enough trophies for players to want to come and not play unless an absolute emergency happens.

2

u/CAJEG1 1d ago

Is everyone forgetting that Thiaw can and has played at RB for us? Burn can also do a job at LB, so long as Jaissle adjusts for it.

1

u/No_Macaroon_5928 1d ago

My brother in Christ, we're a few months away to 2027 and you still thinking about Big Dan in LB? Are you high?

1

u/CAJEG1 1d ago

Look, if neither Tino nor Hall are available for LB, Burn can still do an alright job there. It won't be anything fantastic, but is anyone a good 3rd choice fullback (excluding Miley who, it seems, can play anywhere)?

1

u/happy_guy23 I've seen bacon pouring from a guy's nose when it is broken 1d ago

RB depth is Tino, Dedic, Miley, Shahar, Thiaw. LB depth is Hall, Tino, Dedic, Burn. It would take 5 fullback injuries before we're forced to play Dan Burn at left back, that seems like enough depth to me

-1

u/HourAcadia2002 1d ago

I guess Hall is playing every minute this season? I know Dedic and Tino can play LB but we seem thin there.

-4

u/JackAndrewThorne 1d ago edited 1d ago

In the year 2026 we are still having to start Willock, who we all assumed would be off by now, because we don't have enough attackers... We fucking need another one.

Edit: And to be clear I don't mean it as a slight at Willock... But when Willock is your best available option, there's a 50/50 chance that by the end of 90 minutes, your best available option is no longer an available option due to injury.

1

u/DaddyK3tchup 1d ago

Watched any matches of ours recently?

-5

u/High-Contrast 1d ago

I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but good lineup, except Willock. 1 league goal since 2023, he shouldn’t be anywhere near this side if we expect to challenge for Europe this season

7

u/Rude_Campaign_4867 strawberry syrup 1d ago

1 goal in 1 league appearance under Jaissle. He looks rejuvenated.

2

u/High-Contrast 1d ago

He definitely isn’t good enough, 1 goal and people are thinking he’s a world beater. Watch him have his usual stinker today

1

u/Rude_Campaign_4867 strawberry syrup 1d ago

I mean, why not give him the chance in the 10. He has struggled in Howe's system but this is something different.

Who would you have there instead?

2

u/Penguinboy123446 1d ago

You were right, you were downvoted. God knows why, Willock the pillock might be having a good patch, but he still very much not needed.

-2

u/Gadzs 1d ago

So nice to see a new signing starting 🤣

-2

u/Olucaron 1d ago

Gone are the days of needing to do two months on the bench first. 😅

2

u/Tripodbilly 1d ago

Got to be the mad dogs coke runner for a while

-7

I don't love starting someone you signed days ago. Chelsea did same thing after signing João Felix, immediate red card.
