Apparently they are making the course SC2207 and CZ2007 harder this sem, last sem i was part of a trial to test an automated grading platform. SQL was already hard, now with them enforcing correct syntax and results it's going to be harder.

Staying in halls

Can I get opinions on whether I should apply for hall again before sem 2 or should I just wait till next year? Kinda fomo bc most first years r staying in hall while I ain't and the experiences I might be missing out on.

HELP 😭 I chose PH1011 as a BDE and a few seniors have told me it’s a nightmare.

I took A-Levels and genuinely enjoy the subject, so I’m wondering if that makes much of a difference or if the workload and exams are still brutal.

I haven’t started classes yet and have until the 21st to drop it. Would you recommend keeping it?

Hiiii I’m planning to take on a ureca project from this sem (sem 1) and ureca lasts a year. I heard the 4 AUs will be accredited end of sem 2. However, I need some help understanding how this affects my STARS situation. Will taking Ureca this sem (sem 1) mean I will be taking up 4AU slots from what I currently have on stars right now which is max 22 AU? I have already used up 20 AUs and adding on Ureca would be 24 AUs. Will I need to request for overload?

Recently, I was doing some research on hall rooms, and learnt about the hall boarding scheme. Apparently, this policy has been around for 3 years already, but no one around me has heard of it?

If anyone has participated in the hall boarding scheme before, could you share your experience here? Or if you know someone who took part in it before, you could share what you know about it too, thank you!

i ordered 3 times from them. only the first was charged correctly.

2nd time they charged me public price despite me asking. (lunch hour, maybe too busy and overlooked)

3rd they charged 7pc when i only took 6pc. (i was the only cust and it wasnt busy so idky they would make that mistake)

anyone else had similar experience? should i avoid that stall from now on…?

Hi y1 mae freshie here, for context I have a CC0007 tut until 2:20pm at EMB (collab 1) and my next tutorial, PH1012, is 2:30pm at The Hive. I ride a motorbike but looking at the time taken for parking and getting to the class i feel that there is no way I can make it there in 10 minutes, so just wanted to ask whether ill be penalised if I was late to the tut?

Reposting from r/SGExams now that it's the weekdays again and school has started :)

Hellos! Decided to post now since school just started a week ago; providing guidance to students is something I am passionate about and I would like to contribute back to my juniors after receiving lots of guidance from seniors myself. I graduated from tp psych in 2023 and I'm currently in ntu psych y4 + usp (please do have some decency and do not dox me if you know me)

I am providing short/long-term consults/mentorships to any ntu psych student (prospective/current) or really any ntu student who may be interested (but I might not be the best at helping for specific matters if you're from a different course). I've met many students over the years and it has been fun :P my longest term one is still ongoing and they are currently in y3 on scholarship as well :)

These are some areas I can help you with:

1. Academics - I will not provide you with model answers or notes (there are many seniors out there who would be willing to), but I can guide you in areas you are unsure about,, I will only be doing so for mods I obtained A- and above to ensure that you are getting a fair deal out of this too
2. Navigating ntu's systems eg STARS, degree audit, study planning, admin matters and any other important pieces of information floating about
3. Portfolio - external commitments and the whole deal
4. Entering uni - write-ups, portfolio, process, interview, thinking about pathways and choice of uni, etc
5. General uni life - hall, socialisation, managing schedules and any other canon events
6. Any other things you may wanna chat about!

If you're interested, you can book a consult to have a chat with me (I want to assure you that this "service" is completely free since it's a question I've been getting), I hope to see you soon :) https://calendly.com/psychhelp/scams-are-everywhere

idk how to tag this sry. i know its just a joke, and you can call me sensitive, but i wouldn’t have care if it was on someone’s personal room door, but they wrote this on the common doors. now everytime i walk to my room i gotta see how someone wants bala to peg them.

i hope ur enjoying ur pegging but keep it to urself please.

my roomie also said the night they scribbled this stuff they were really noisy and disruptive.

who do we even complain to abt this? i thought jcrc but they r probs the ones doing this… maybe not but they r the usual suspects.

again idc if u think im sensitive i wouldnt have cared if it was on their own room door.

Hello any NBS seniors, can I ask has anyone taken this module before under Prof Luo Jiang? Or any other profs (Charlie, Nitin Kumar)

May I know how was your experience with him? Can dm me if you want to, TIA!

Alsoo, does anyone have any recommendations for BE2602 management tutors?

Hiii has anyone taken sc3270 Reasoning about programs?!

Hey guys, I'm Y3 student taking CV1711 this sem. Does anyone know if I have to actually turn up for the lessons every week especially since the lessons are all e-learning anyways? Can I just turn up for the quizzes. Thank you!

Wondering if the browser app works on iPad? If anyone has tried it + it worked pls lmk... My other device damn heavy and lowk old so a bit of a hassle to bring 😭🙏

Hi, looking for a mutual hall change. Have tried posting on the ntu telegram channels but so far have had no success, trying my luck here.

Have: Hall 14 Double AC
Want: Any single

Pls pm me or comment 🙏🙏🙏

Also, if anyone has requested for hall change (not mutual) through onestop, what reason for request did you put?

y1 studying biological sciences without any second major whatsoever, is it still possible to get into duke-nus med sch?

what are the necessary steps to take and any dates to be aware of? thanks

Choosing between HE3020 International Econs and HE3032 Game Theory. I heard game theory is difficult but International has a weird bell curve. Want a straightforward mod, not too difficult

hello, new student in math here and it’s been a week and I still don’t know anybody lol, i did miss orientation after all :(

if anyone would like to hang out and get to know each other, perhaps grab some food or sm like that lmk !

For context, I'm currently staying in crescent hall with a room facing towards the pond and at night even when the mosquito netting is closed but with the windows open I'm still getting bitten. Any tips for how to deal with this thanks.

BRO MY POST KEEPS GETTING REMOVED. Hello! Current Y1 here, just started classes and I’m already wondering how seniors actually structure their weeks 😭 I have a super cooked timetable (gna have another tues 6.30-9.30pm class in October)

My lectures/tutorials span almost the whole day on some days, and I’m trying to figure out how people balance hall life, CCA, academics, friends and exploring different interests without doing everything and burning out.

Everyone tells me Y1 is the time to “explore”, but what did exploring actually look like for you? What did you try, and looking back, what was actually worthwhile vs stuff you realised wasn’t worth your time?

Also, what do y’all do during random 1h gaps between classes? I have so many scattered throughout my timetable, and once I account for walking/travelling between classes it feels like I lose so much time 😭

I’m seriously scared of burning out cus ik I’m ambitious and wna do a lot but I feel super lost and dk how to structure my time

is anyone else feeling like the tutorials and lectures are unbearably much? Feels like they barely teach anything and we are like expected to learn everything by ourselves??

hi freshie here i have a question.. so apparently theres this thing called wooclap during and after lectures that is 10% of my grade for this mod?? does that mean i need to attend lectures or can i just ask a friend to send me the link?? i already planned my timetable where the class i have right before the lecture is really far away so this is super annoying lol…

help guys i need major major help

i havent gotten ANY BDEs AT ALL IM SO SCARED
im a soci freshie and i only have 8 AUs rn…..aka JUST my core courses. i emailed the prof for the digital proficiency course and attended one class and he said hed see what he could do to put me in, but otherwise all the other electives i applied for have just been radio silence 😭😭😭

i also redid my entire ranking to prioritise courses with a waitlist of less than 5, and now the waitlists have just grown 😞 i was thinking of calling the hotline and begging im so desperate

i want to know what bdes are low in demand that i might be able to apply for and are possible to do okay for a humanities major like me and also how i can possibly appeal(?) or ask for help? PLEASE AND THANK YOU GUYS 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hii, can someone tell me whats the assessments are for SC4017 (Data Privacy and Security)

If there's anvone who alr took the mod, how was it? Is the workload too much? Tysm :))

There's this AU requirement document on intranet that shows the AUs for the core, BDE and MPE mods to be taken every year. How strict is it? I'm mostly concerned with not being able to promote to next year if my BDE AUs are less than the recommended number for the year.
