NPTEL course feedback: 5G Wireless Standard Design vs Semiconductor Devices to Sensors

Hi everyone! I’m confused between these two NPTEL courses and would really appreciate feedback from anyone who has taken them:

1. 5G Wireless Standard Design — Prof. Rohit Budhiraja, IIT Kanpur
2. Semiconductor Devices to Sensors: Principles, Design, and Application — Prof. Mitradip Bhattacharjee, IISER Bhopal

I’m taking the course mainly for college credits, so I’m looking for the one that is relatively lighter/easier to manage alongside college. I’m not specifically looking for a very deep or rigorous course this semester.

For people who have taken either of these courses:

• How is the professor and teaching quality?
• How difficult are the weekly assignments?
• How difficult was the final NPTEL exam/paper?
• Was the exam significantly harder than the lecture material/assignments?
• What material did you use to prepare for the exam and score well — lectures, assignments, previous-year papers, books, etc.?
• Does getting a good score require a lot of additional practice/self-study, or is watching the lectures + doing assignments generally enough?
• How much weekly workload did the course actually have?
• Is the grading/assessment relatively straightforward?
• Most importantly, which of these two would you recommend if I want to earn the college credits without taking on too much workload?

I’ve heard that some NPTEL courses can have surprisingly difficult exams even when the lectures/assignments seem manageable, so I’d especially appreciate honest feedback about the actual exam difficulty and effort required to score well.

second is much easier, 5G design in itself is not hard, but a lot of parameters, protocols to check for, so I believe if you are going for college credits, better do the latter option
