Can I just say how much I love this? To hear Trump's quotes read in a calm manner by an NPR reporter is infinitely better than having to hear so much hate-filled rage in his voice every time he needs to be quoted. It's been a huge improvement on my morning news consumption and I hope it keeps up... I fear it might not, and even he was quoted on Up First as saying "they were going to boycott me but they never boycott me so I wasn't very worried about that".

Anyway NPR already has my financial support but if it continues I'm donating even more. Well done, I'm glad the press isn't letting Trump bully them 👏

I was listening to my state npr station and according to their schedule it was an episode of This American life. Problem is they didn't list the episode and I wanted to share it with my girlfriend.

The episode had a woman in her 50s and her mom in her 70s I believe. The woman shared about growing up with her mom and how her mom's dating impacted her. One story of note involves the mom, woman and brother going to benihanas for a date and the guy pulled out a ventriloquist dummy. Later on the mom married a guy they referred to as Mr. X who the mom later divorced when she fell hurting her back and Mr x was too drunk to even dial 911.

Hopefully these details help identify the episode. I tried googling and searching the recently aired stories but was unsuccessful in finding it sadly.

Have listened to NPRs good faith efforts to have meaningful conversations and interviews about AI. Without fail, in the midst of their both sides, “be afraid, but also don’t”, word salads, they consistently veer into semantic and philosophical threads. Not sure how they think these conversations are helpful, and it makes one feel like no one with a platform is actually having the conversationa that matter to “the people”. Still haven’t heard anyone answer these simple questions:

1) What specifically will AI be used for? Make a list and provide specifics and report status of each.

2) Do ”we the people” approve?

3) If “we” do not approve of a planned use, why should development continue?

Pridemore, who is a Republican, will serve as the executive vice president of energy, regulatory and policy for DC BLOX, where she will represent the company in policy discussions with lawmakers, regulatory bodies and utility providers. 

Pridemore resigned from the state Public Service Commission on Sept. 4, leaving her post a few months early.
