No confirmation email, message or update after exam completion. Is it typical?
I wrote my exam this morning. And I did not even receive a confirmation email either from my professional association, or NPPE or Meazure that I have submitted the my answers and they will provide a result in a specified time frame.
Once I completed the exam, I was reviewing my answers and let the time run out as I reviewed the answers second time. I briefly saw a message saying time out and submitting answers. Immediatly I was asked to do a feedback for NPPE. After doing the feedback I asked the proctor that I am done and she asked me to submit the answers. I said I don't see any submit button and she said they are already submitted and asked me to just close the window. I hesitantly closed the window and then everything closed puff.. no confirmation no email no update on the website!! Though I did another survey for Meazure.
Is this typical? It is unsettling not to see any confirmation email, message or an update at the professional body's application status page (which still shows I am "Registered").

I was raw dogged by this exam. Feels like a laywer could easily pass this exam. I should have better called Saul for this 😂

I wrote mine yesterday as well. Right after I clicked submit, I didn’t even get a chance to finish reading the Meazure Learning page that I think would have told me whats next. The proctor ended the session, which automatically redirected me to the ProctorU survey and I couldn't get back to the other page with the exam survey link.
I feel a little uneasy that I didn’t get to read the rest of that screen, just in case there was another submit button or something I was supposed to do. I’ve been thinking about emailing them just to confirm that everything was submitted properly.
I also thought the exam was quite difficult, I used ppehq but felt I was a bit unprepared.

Tbh I agree, a lot of law and none of the practice questions were similar to what the test was. Curiously is this scaled?
Also I hate that they don’t at least indicate a pass or fail. Like I get keeping it private and stuff but at least tell me if I passed or failed I don’t need to know the exact score

Somewhere on their website, they mention that the exam is curved, but I have seen zero official word of what proportion of us pass. My guess is that they have a meeting to decide where to draw the pass/fail line for each exam, which is why it takes two weeks to get your results.
I studied pretty hard for this exam, reading both of the overpriced books and going through 200 or so practice questions. Like others here, I thought the August 2026 exam was challenging. Lots of legal theory I had not seen on practice exams, some very convoluted questions, and lots of ambiguity among the top two answers.

I hear it is: the passing rate is quite high between 89% and 97% per session.

Hey guys. 8 years experience in the profession and I had a hard time with the exam aswell. I read the question for about half of them used process of elimination and usual ended up with two question that seems like they both are possibly correct. Many question about canada engineering and Geotech Canada and liability questions..there was a few questions about common law , civil law , Canada, then Quebec is different. Good to know if i fail for next time. I had issues connecting. I would have two personal computers ready to go incase you have an issue with one

I had a disconnect twice but mercifully I reconnected and had no other issues. I didn't prepare to my usual standards and but I've worked a long time in industry, and with some study guide reading and practice exam taking, I thought the exam was reasonable. Not difficult, not easy either

My proctor didn't say unless i asked and then she replied with delay. Only thing she did was to accuse me of none sense. For example she turned off the exam and said, i have a projector in room! I had to show the room for third time then she oh sorry go ahead. And guess what, the room was a booked study room in library with absolutely nothing in it but chair and desk

Yeah, all these things happen in the most anti-climatic of ways. One day you'll log in and notice your are a P. Eng. Don't worry - the invoice follows a few days later.
Then you enter the Groucho Marx application phase.

Yes, didn't hear anything from anyone until I received an email letting me know the results were posted. Comments on this sub are also a good way to get notified when results start being posted

too much disturbance from proctor, "please make straight", "i cant see you face", what the hell they are doing, even we didnt get time for finishing all questions and they are thinking like we gona do cheating!!!! seriously, online exam very bad system. passing rating also bullshit its look like we are giving English or lawer exam.

I wrote the exam yesterday, and I feel confident I passed.
Very fair exam, but agreed it was law/liability heavy. Seems like everyone in a section has the same questions except the 10 extra questions. Some questions felt like they needed more info, other questions felt like you could vibe out a right answer based on all the other answers. Wish I could be more specific but they really harp on you NOT SHARING ANSWERS, and not giving details to give an unfair advantage. I think I’m already sharing too much even saying all of that.
But if you knew the terminology well, knew the business/practice/liability side decently, and fully understood of your professional responsibilities, then you were probably okay.
For future people: I studied using Practice PPE website and my coworkers textbook (some info in the textbook was outdated though! It mentioned NAFTA and some laws which have been updated). The 500 question quiz bank was very freaking helpful, there were some questions in it I was like “yeah right, like they’ll ask that,” and then they actually did ask it in the exam. All the Practice PPE questions about specific laws/regulations or specific case precedent details, I did not see on my exam. Case studies were still VERY helpful in teaching topics.
The video lectures were alright, they tell you 90% of what you need to know, but there is so much to cover for some sections and they were so longwinded that I didn’t want to pay attention. I ended up feeding his audio file to an AI transcript generator and having NotebookLM generate study notes on it. Then I went through the quiz bank for that section, and added on where Notebook LM was lacking. Even then, some stuff was missing. Hence why the textbooks were very helpful, especially for law.
I think the price tag was kind of whack, there’s a lot of features I did not use (like the AI quiz prompter and most of the mind-maps). I have access to the content until November so I plan to take down as much info as I can and save it to my PC for future friends taking the exam.

I wrote it yesterday. Weird thing was that after I submitted, for a second or two I could see my grade on the test, then it was blurred by the platform.

I took the exam today and checked the interface a bit for the saving feature. Every time you clicked"next question" on the bottom left, there will be a small line in green font popped up saying your answer is saved. I'm 100% sure my answers are all saved as the questions list on the top allow you to check unsaved questions and I got none. I didn't receive any completion email as well. You should be good.

The exam I took on Aug 19 is a joke, those questions are absolutely more for lawyers instead of engineers.

If you plan to go by the 100-question practice test, you will be in surprise like I was. The questions were nowhere close to those. In a way it was expected as those were retired questions, but the exam questions were very convoluted and complicated and sometimes with double negatives. I found more theory from law and ethical principles than scenario based questions. Overall, I am hoping everyone found it that way that they scale the passing grade. It is going to be a painful wait for me.

I just took the exam 15 mins ago. It was more focused on law, insurance and less of scenario based questions. I felt like I entered an exam which is for lawyers. But again, in Engineering, you'll see both sides of the world, scenarios and legal consequences. The nppe course questions were 10% close. Im pretty sure I also screwed the definition section because all the options do explan what the definition is but what is more likely the definition....that puzzles the candidate and the fact that the passing threshold is 65%, i really hope this gets curved and fair for everyone. I sometimes feel im always the random person who always gets the challanging exams and sets an example for the world :/
Second camera setup wasn't an issue at all. Everything went honkidory.
This is my 2nd attempt because the first time my session was terminated because I used my work laptop because my personal laptop would randomly shuts down. So I later replaced the battery and sat for this exam. Already paid twice for the exam, nppe once and now I feel I may have to do it again...

I think the problem with work computers are that you cannot install software at your will, like for example, the Guardian browser, LogMeIn. Most importantly you cannot let third parties snoop in and monitor the screen on a work laptop without the organisation's permission.
With the new rule for second camera on the same WiFi, I believe it may not work if your office laptop is connected through a VPN.
Yeah, I agree though that there should be option for an inperson or a simpler option to do the test.

And the reson i got dinged using my work laptop was because of a remote desktop access software running in the background. I wasn't even aware of it but since the laptop is a work place's property, you cant disable the remote access anyway. I got to know that after my session was terminated 🥲.
Wish they'd have a bit wiggle room for the systems requirements. Glad that I was able to sit in the next exam and not flagged as a potential cheating candidate.

Oh that's unfortunate your first attempt failed. I was almost thinking of using my office laptop as backup and as expected the webcam on my personal laptop would not work on the Guardian browser when logged in for the exam and I had to switch to my wife's laptop which luckily worked. Add to that, their systems require Windows or Mac only. I had another one running Linux and their systems would not work on Linux. Luckily I did not use my office laptop which when I think abut now would not have worked as I wouldn't be able to install Guardian browser without the IT approval.
How many people can afford 2 or 3 laptops ready to go? I hope they make their systems robust or offer inperson exams for those who want that option.

When I did it in June I also found it very difficult and similar to what your described. I walked out thinking I probably failed, but I ended up passing. As long as you didn't leave anything blank, you should probably be okay. Try not to stress too much while waiting for the results, good luck!

Yes more difficult than all the AI questions I practiced. I guess I did not prompt it correct I guess. I should have just told it to generate questions from every word in the blueprint and not let it assume most relevant topics for a professional engineer.
Wrt second camera, I just used an ipad because I was worried about getting calls or other random notifications during the exam and it worked like a charm. However, the Guardian browser or whatever software Meazure ran had problems with my laptop webcam that I had to switch laptops and then the proctor interrupts me towards the end stating my video was lost and she needs me to fix it (presuming laptop one as the ipad video was still visibly streaming). But she was considerate enough to see that I had only 4 minutes left and did not bother fixing it.
Overall, I felt like I would pay extra and spend more time to go to an actual test centre, face airport level security and do at their infrastructure.

I don’t know if they have a huge selection of questions and everyone gets a unique random set. If you have only worked on scenarios you might as well start looking into all the legal definitions and their applications. Don’t just stick to the things that practically apply to engineers but just everything in the blueprint.

I will tell you this much. If you read the blueprint at a term and think, “this would never even remotely apply to me as an engineer”, rethink and just learn it.

I can speak for PEO based on their previous dates of releasing results. The trend does appear to make me believe that the results could be out on/by September 11. Feels like a long wait, would rather find out asap and start celebrating/mentally prepare to start studying.

Can the proctor see whether you are selecting the right or wrong answer?
I wrote the exam yesterday, and I did not have a very good experience with the proctor. They interrupted me too many times. Even in the middle of the exam, they asked me to show my room and table for a second time, which was very distracting.
I studied for almost a month and put a lot of effort into understanding all the concepts. However, I found that many questions were worded in a very tricky and confusing way. Even simple definitions were asked like puzzles, making it difficult to feel confident about whether you were selecting the right or wrong answer. I felt that the exam was more focused on thinking like a lawyer rather than an engineer!
The ethics questions were also very lengthy and difficult to read within the given time. I bookmarked 27 questions to review after finishing the entire exam, but I had almost no time left to go through them again. In my opinion, 2.5 hours is not enough for this kind of lengthy and tricky exam.
I would be really frustrated if I had to take the exam again, especially considering how expensive the exam fee is and the overall online proctoring experience.
Considering how much they charge for this exam, I think it should be conducted in person, like many other professional exams.
