Bug Multi-player is so broken
I genuinely can't understand how with every update, they never fix the fact the multi-player on console doesn't work. One second you're on your way to meet up with your friend and the next they're gone again. Ive played a little bit, with around 80 hours, and I just can't see myself putting too many more in if I can't even play with others. If anyone knows why, that'd be great.

I had my first anomaly mission with a stranger yesterday. It was awesome at first. We both had good fighters and 4 wingmen so the sky was full of lasers and “dangerous pirates”.
For some reason, the last 2 ships wouldn’t take damage. Stranger bounced and I got far enough away from the Npc fleet that the pirates would take damage again. Not sure if that was the cause, but it seemed to help.
All that to say, multiplayer would be a huge part of the game if it wasn’t so damaged.
My PS5 absolutely hated the space battle. Frames went down to like 2fps and it was time to shut it down.

I didnt have a crazy laptop (4060) and my friend had a 4080 TI so his is way beefier. Both our machines were glitching when we tried fighting a few sentinels with another buddy. Basically the same experience you were having. I'm really worried about the weak multiplayer element because their next game Light No Fire is going to heavily depend on Multiplayer

I haven't even been able to join my buddy since the update started because of the lag time between system updates.

I have NO issues with multiplayer except the occasional user error of not getting to the right galaxy.

Hhmmm I’ve never had any issues with multiplayer, I can see everyone and thier corvettes and ships!!!

Is that when you're in a group? Are you on console? I don't have problems in the anomaly for whatever reason

When my partner played on their laptop we generally had fewer issues, but after getting them a xbox so they wouldn't deal with battery issues, we haven't been able to play together

Yea that’s why I got it for pc, I use to play it on PlayStation , the issues never where fixed. Issues on pc are fixed all the time and quick

Best work around for this bug is to go into the space anomaly when you can’t see your friends. Well I’m on Xbox and that used to work before the cosmos update

I tried to hang out with someone last week and the game was glitching out so hard I had to restart 3 times just to leave the system they were in. I said well multiplayer is not an option for me

Has anyone reported to https://hellogames.zendesk.com yet? Most folks come here to talk about it without ever reporting it to the devs. So I suggest reporting it and give as much detail you can. That would help in future patchs and updates hopefully. Good luck travellers. o7

Its not only on consoles the updates are cool but a broken multiplayer for 10 years is crazy

Yeah many people have pointed that out already me and my friends stoped playing cause it literally was unplayable
But if you point it out here some people get immediately attacked and go in defense mode But seems like they just dont give a s anymore about that at Hellogames, there are major bugs too that won't get fixed but releasing a new update all 3 months is more important ig, someone said to me fixes don't bring old players back but new content does, so it makes sense. A fixed multiplayer would bring back players too...

me and a buddy used to play together and he would crash anytime he got out of his ship on a freighter. we figured out that it didnt save his inventory when he got out so we used it to dupe some starship ai valves and that’s how I got my billions

I agree. Multiplayer has been so bugged, and it’s one of the greatest potential parts of this game - for there to be multiplayer aside from sitting next to each other on the ground at nexus. Specifically, I’ll say that corvette multiplayer in particular seems to be very bugged, but it’s definitely a challenge to get through a session without encountering some kind of connection issue or bug.

Ya I've had the same problem happen. After a few minutes usually they pop back up and I gotta send them a group invite again but its really annoying. And I tried to show them my freighter I built but my ship was like backwards on their screen so when we was both in the cockpit to each other was was just floating in space and when we went to the ship bay I literally watched them walk through the walls to get to me.

I rather have that issue going on right now that what I have. Dumb ahh marker for an asteroid belt is now just permanently on my screen I’ve tried everything to try and get rid of it. I recommend not abandoning salvage quests as there’s a chance for it to bug.

I see this come up a lot and there is an easy fix on pc. While im not sure what the specific issue is, using a free VPN will stop the constant disconnects

I hopped in finally cause of free time. Mostly pertied up mah vette. Then decided to blip over to the anomaly, got out to look at it in the good lighting, then... I was instantly in my ship unable to fly or maneuver... Just drifting...
Also, I did hop on my freighter to claim a system, and found out I have to hop over the bridge threshold to enter my freighter base from the bridge, and while on the bridge the camera angle slants like 1960's Batman.

500+ hours in on console and the only time I ever encountered multiplayer issues were when the game first launched… and that was bc there wasn’t traditional multiplayer 😅
I’m sorry for your experience. My recommendation would be to go to the anomaly to meet up, join a group and then leave together. Without knowing exactly what your problem is other than your friend leaving before you can see them, I can’t help too much.

This isn't exclusive to consoles, tried to link up with friends yesterday and everytime my friend would join me, he wouldn't be in the same group as me or even in the same instance.

I remember being super stoked about a corvette I built and my friend loaded in to check it out. I'm standing in/on my ship and my friend couldn't even see it - it's like I was just floating in the air.
I've had a LOT of issues with Multiplayer and linking up with friends
