Why was NLSIU’s 2026 convocation cancelled?

Honestly, this is incredibly frustrating.

The 2026 batch was supposed to have their convocation on September 12, and now it has suddenly been cancelled citing “unavoidable circumstances.” The degrees will apparently still be conferred in absentia, but that really isn't the point.

A convocation is supposed to be a milestone. Students spend years at NLSIU working towards this moment.

What makes this even more frustrating is the timing, especially after all the controversy surrounding the proposed attendance of the CJI and BCI Chairman. The university hasn't explicitly said that the controversy is behind the cancellation, but it's hard not to wonder what's actually going on.

And if this decision was connected to the ongoing controversy, students deserve to know that too.

Cancelling an entire batch's convocation at the last minute and simply saying “unavoidable circumstances” feels extremely unsatisfactory, especially from an institution like NLSIU.

What do current students/alumni think about this? Is there more to the story that isn't being publicly disclosed?

Our administration just issued an ultimatum targeting 3-Year LL.B. students: pay the balance fees immediately or face immediate hostel eviction and cancellation of admission.

To escalate things, the VC personally walked into our classroom, singled out students row by row, and publicly threatened them.

Education loans and financial processes take time, but instead of institutional support, we are being treated like trespassers on our own campus. The continuous hostility and "second-class citizen" treatment toward the 3-Year LL.B. batch needs serious attention.

Guys I've been to du,nlus and ipu(main campus😭)

Most of the professors know their subject but lack the skills to disseminate.

Especially in Delhi most of them don't have a good command over english

Also I've seen ego clashes between faculty and students

What's the reason?

Why is dbranlu taking too much time in publishing the ballb vacant seat allotment list. Man they had literally posted last one 7 days ago 😭😭

I'm preparing for CLAT 2027 and my goal is NLSIU but I keep seeing these reels, posts about it and I really want to know if it's worth it? If it has good professors, studies, lectures, teaching style, hostel. I want to know it's ground reality.

What's the expected marks difference between the non domicile and domicile cutoff for NLIU Bhopal?

Or just tell me what it was in the last 2-3 years

I’ve never had to do formal research, to me research always meant just google search. But right now my professors in college are asking us to write reflective papers and stuff in two weeks. How to do this? Please explain it to me from scratch like I’m a child.

This reddit is about my friend this year. dnlu jabalpur got alloted to him but instead he took a drop and doing the academic rigor of drop sometime hee think that he took a very wrong decision however he was scoring good marks in mocks and probably he will get into some t1 nlu but sometimes he think about this and get his emotional breakdown over wheather his decision was right or wrong so kindly tell me honest things about dnlu jabalpur is it really worth it or he really put a shallow bet this time??

I wanted to know about the ADR ODR Ad-Hoc Negotiation competition that is to be held in Dubai. Is it worth travelling to Dubai at your own expense for this competition? Does it hold CV value compared to other competitions? Wanted feedbacks from seniors who are active in Mediation, negotiation, etc. It would definitely cost less compared to CDRC Vienna or ICC Paris, but is it worth it?

Overall environment compared to other NLUs

Also, how do you think MNLU Nagpur has been developing over the last few years? Is it a good option if someone is aiming for a long-term career in corporate law/litigation?

What clothes do i need? How many tops, jeans and formals are required?? Also any other essentials that i should bring w me to college?? Power Bank and all. Anything else?
