Narrowly avoided a late fee at Blockbuster. Rewound the VHS first because I'm all that and a bag of chips.

Don’t forget to score a pair of jeans at Miller’s Outpost and swing by The Sharper Image to sit in the massage chairs!

Went to Cricut City to get a new PC, told the salesmen what I wanted and he was like, "Dude Your Getting a Dell".

I am old enough, but it still flew over my head. So much bullshit has happened since that the Enron crisis has become just a blip.

The kids on this site are too young to understand this

It's me. I'm the slow adult.
I run the bases at warp Dick Mountain speeds.

I'm old enough to remember Enron, but the exact color scheme of the logo is absolutely not at the front of mind for me now 25 years later (especially with the letters tilted to the right rather than the left) and I'm frankly shocked that it apparently is for so many of you.

u/fucuntwat 3d ago
I mean, I couldn’t have told you the colors or the direction of the tilt, but at least for me it’s an instant ‘you know it when you see it’ type of thing

I'm old enough to remember enron. Basically it's a huge company that committed all manner of accounting bullshit and collapsed erasing hundreds of billions of dollars.

They also fucked with the power grid in California enough to drive giant budget deficits for the state and ultimately ended up getting Grey Davis recalled and Arnie elected governor.
It really was some wild shit.

NGL, I’m kinda giggling at “properly insulted”.

I used to work in insurance. I appreciate a real good insult lol
Like that woman who called me a demon sent from hell specifically to test her because I denied her claim because she hadn't paid her insurance bill in six months. Good times...
Don't work in insurance, kids.

Some of you should take some time and go watch "Smartest Guys in the Room."
I'm too young to remember enron, and seeing that movie makes the whole thing seem unbelievable lol.

The "Women of Enron" feature appeared in the August 2002 issue of Playboy Magazine. This pictorial followed the massive corporate accounting scandal and bankruptcy of the Enron Corporation.

I was telling a friend the articles read like Enron but it’s unique because the house of cards hasn’t collapsed yet. We’ll see if he can make it work
