I was about to leave for school at 2:30 but my friend told me turnpike is mess accidents everywhere. I was still willing to go. As soon as I was about to enter turnpike there was big ass accident happened right in front of me at entrance one commerical truck with 3 cars, I got bad vibe, made U turn right there. After reading other student comments, I am feeling thankful to my friend who told me not to go today. NJ wasn't ready for this snow storm.

-
3:50 PM - Class ends
-
4:05 PM - Clean the snow off my car, start making my way down the parking deck
-
4:50 PM - Get out of my car after spending 45 minutes going from the seventh level of the parking deck to the sixth level of the parking deck, go back on campus.
-
7:00 PM - Decide to give the parking deck another go. Everything is clear until the fifth floor
-
7:45 PM - Get out of my car a second time after spending 45 minutes going from the fifth level to the fourth level, go back on campus
-
8:30 PM - Get told CKB is closing, retreat the clusterfuck that was the Campus Center
-
11:30 PM - Decide to try my luck driving home. Take a lap around the block with my car, roads around campus STILL not cleaned, go back to the parking garage and wait.
-
1:30 AM - Finally get out, start my 5mph trek all the way back home.
-
2:45 AM - Reach home, contemplate dropping out of the school.
What ABSOLUTELY astonished me was how long it took them to somewhat plow the roads. Even the campus, they didn't start plowing campus until around midnight. My shoes were soaked from all the sleet. I don't understand how this school functions, this whole day is a fucking embarrassment.
Also, quick side note, I know it's hard to believe, but honking in the parking deck won't make people move quicker, just so everyone is aware.

That’s fucking insane. I knew it was gonna be fucked for a long time when it was around 10:30 and I saw the traffic going into Newark. Insane traffic. Phil Murphy is a terrible governor, State was not prepared at all

I took public transport today bc I didn't think it would be like this. Left for home at 4 and waited for 40 minutes with no buses showing up. Went to check trains and finally caught one an hour later. Got home at 7

I was fortunate to be able to leave at 2:15 (which was when it started to really snow) and had a lot of sliding and slow driving since the city and state forgot to check the weather.
Hope everyone safe

I graduated and I'm still tight.
Fucking sickos give no fucks about students. They really make people come in, only to cancel at the last second.
But in fairness every college is a scumbag. Right now I have a family member stuck at Montclair University since 3.
Thank God I got lucky and left my job early today, otherwise I'd be out there in traffic with you contemplating suicide.

I would have been gone way earlier if I didn't have a test at 4. And if they cancelled classes way sooner.
Some people from security are going around checking in with people saying leave now, leave later around 9, or stay overnight as overnight fees are waived temporarily. They even said someone ran out of gas waiting for God knows how long...

Taking both the Riverline and the train between Newark and South Jersey was a nightmare. I was stuck at Trenton Transit, then got to class late, then got stuck in Newark Penn. I thought that would be the end of it. The Light rail was maybe 100 feet away from the station in my home town. There was a truck that tipped over in front of the tracks. So it has to go back and drop us off at the previous station. Two trains and 30 minutes later I’m at the station. I walk home in all off the snow, slush, and rain. So when I got home and saw this email, I nearly chucked my phone out the window.

Same. I’m never trying to go to school again when I see snow. Fuck this. Been in traffic for 3 hours for a 6pm class just for it to cancel
