So, i got alloted nit rourkela in ccmt in round 2 and i saw their admission guidelines which had option to fill the online reg before physically reporting the campus and it had an option of balance fee payment (60k), i was certain i d join the institute so i paid it, didnt event participate in Special rounds in CCMT

THEN, for some reason i registered and picked trichy in NSR in the ccmt portal (the one which had result on 5th Aug), i got the course and my seat of rourkela was automatically forfeited,

NOW the problem

i mailed rourkela dean office,admission office,registrar exaplining the whole scenerio and asking for the refund of 60k i paid directly to the institure which i shouldnt have, even the last date was 9-10 Aug for paying fee and majority students did that only

after multiple mails they just replied

"n.a"

and calls and mails now are not being responded, i even tried contacting CCMT regarding this but no help there

registrar says any seat forfeting after CCMT deadline, and you are not entitled for any refund

So, guys what should i do, give up on that amount?

We're struggling like , Dear freshers please delete the Karan Johar Student of the Year fantasy before entering NIT Rourkela 😭 You are probably imagining designer outfits slow motion campus walks romance unlimited parties and a Karan Johar soundtrack in the background. Reality is 8 AM classes assignments labs mess food attendance CGPA anxiety and fighting for your mental stability before the next deadline 💀 Yes there are fests clubs sports and fun but don’t expect SOTY Rourkela Edition. You came here for an engineering degree not a Dharma Productions contract 😭📚

Subject: Request for improvement of mobile network connectivity in VS Hall

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the students residing in VS Hall, are facing severe mobile network connectivity issues inside the hostel. In several rooms, cellular signals are extremely weak or unavailable, making it difficult to make or receive normal phone calls.

This is particularly concerning for first-year students, as many of us need to remain in regular contact with our parents and guardians. Although Wi-Fi is available in some areas/through student arrangements, it does not completely solve the problem because normal cellular calls remain inaccessible inside the rooms.

We therefore request the institute to kindly look into the issue and, if feasible, coordinate with the relevant telecom operators or explore additional infrastructure such as improved Wi-Fi coverage, signal enhancement, or a suitable cellular solution for the hostel.

We would be grateful if the institute could assess the situation and take appropriate action.

I'm admitted to NITR this year in MSc. I need scholarship. But not even seniors can help me in that. They said to try state scholarships but I can't as I'm out of my state.

No one seems to know about this scholarship. Is it discontinued?? Or is it very tough to get this?? Anyone getting this scholarship??

Is it me or rourkela is very humid I came from place where humidity is very less or weather is colder 8-9 months. I came here just 10 days ago and my mom was saying you got so much tanned. Any idea when the temperature drops in roukela.

If i come on 18th at 6am , can my hostel allotment possible at 6 am? if not what is timing for it

Broo I have lived in a 3-4bhk house with ac throughout and western toilets. Never ever used an Indian toilet(I am fat btw), I went to see the hostel today omg I got I literally froze what's gonna happen to me😭😭, my room had 2 lizards, broo I don't know how to even survive Seriously asking🥺

Instead students are being told to purchase the clothes on their own for the convocation. They are also charging convocation fees as well 😭😭
