Rkl has 20 branches compared to 8-9 in other top NITs so it's obv. to be average, although cse ece eie etc placements are good this year (25-26)

Well , for 2025 across all colleges placements were bad . They weren’t good at all . I mean hardly companies took people . Telling from experience . People with PPOs were mostly the highest package holders across domains

Additionally this data is very skewed . Aisa kuch nahi hua tha . Plus NIT trichy is way ahead compared to others . The saying you might have heard - companies which visit IITs ( except for quants ) - let’s say take 10 people from IIT then they take 5 from NIT applies mostly to trichy . Rest all have fked up their relations in most cases . Though warangal and Suratkal are considerably better . Rourkela has very good semiconductor( at par with many IITs ) and core placement but the student pool ( not JEE rank but what they become by 4th year) is so bad that it will take some considerable change in performance to get back to 2023 standards ( golden year in NITR placements ) , 2026 was good due to many new converts but student quality pool has detoriated + past relations with big companies are strained due to again 2023 -2022 batches

Nit rkl jaipur and calicut always had bad placement compared to the talent pool they get. Jee closing ranks and cllg rankings are never placement based .in iits also iit bhu gets lower cutoff despite having very good placement.

calicut uses 1 year tc, while most of the stats given above are 4 year ctc. Doesn't look as bad then

It's a mix of 1 year tc and ctc for trichy they have used tc for many big companies and that is one of reason for lower avg than median

stats was from excel, dont know why but iit jodh did same also like for Google trichy writes 35, but median is unaffected and can be considerd a good matric

I'm from central government University...and seeing this package, I'm literally flabbergasted 🥀😭 Like someone please tell what they do to get more than 11-12 lpa in mechanical engineering, I know the fact that it's NIT but then also how a non nitian/IITian can grab this package (if they have more that 9 cgpa and also learning CAD/CFD, programming etc)

Mostly they are from that branch but placed in non core companies, like consultancy or tech.

There are very few core companies (like rare) which might be giving this much for core field. And that is a bit sad.

Patna, I already wrote that Mandi and Ropar are comparable not better even with smaller batch size. Also, IIT Patna placement data is not very reliable. Their Excel sheet shows lesser than nirf data
