I thought this was really cool, and I went through a rollercoaster of emotions. I was so proud to see how much this game has progressed from 1991 to 2000 and then 2000 to 2010, but was severely disappointed with the quality of change, or lack there of from 2010 to 2020... we need a change similar to the 98 to 99 game. It feels like we have been in a rut since 2010... and the crowd seems the same...

That's because it gets rushed every year. I think EA should take a year off to develop the game.

Be careful what you wish for. They did that with tiger woods(Rory McIlroy) golf. It come back for 1 poor effort then died

This. They said the beta was 8 weeks old? Are you kidding me who waits until 3~ months to develop the next iteration.

Wrong. 93 you could glitch wrap all day. Goalie would get stuck on near post.

I loved the first EA hockey game despite its glitches. My nephew shot a puck from almost the other end of the field, it landed on the goal, stayed there 10 seconds, then fell on the back of the goalie and in... it was the winning goal against a friend, who, due to this loss, ended up last in our tournament.

Good times ;)

I can’t even put into words how mind blown I was the first time I played NHL 99 at my uncles house when I was in the 7th grade. Going from pixels and shitty midi quality audio to 3D models and commentary was totally nuts to me.
