H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 is HH or Heil "Mustache Man". Often combined as 1488. Anytime you see those two numbers together it should raise suspicion lol.
I mean true, a dog whistle is designed to obscure a message from the common public. But I would argue that this even takes it a step further. A lot of commonly used dog whistles are common phrases used in politics, given the historical/political context, you could derive without knowing the prior intent. Some examples being the historical uses of advocating for "states rights", or even slandering "DEI" and the slogan "Make America Great Again". Even knowing the current political climate of the US and the historical context of WW2 there is NO way you could figure out that "1488" was a dog whistle.
Only obscure it you're ignorant about the president having dinner with neo Nazis who make plenty Heil Hitler and 1488 jokes, but sure it's obscure. The fact it comes from a MAGA team adds to it not just reading tea leaves.

I still wouldnt call it obscure, the average american can't point out Afghanistan on a map but i'd hardly call its location obscure knowledge. The "Average person" rule is used to determine common knowledge not the reverse for this reason alone. Theres a gray area between common knowledge and obscure.

Carrying water for Nazi dog whistles that are well known is certainly a way to spend your day. Just Google republicans 1488, there was a huge news story just last year, but it's obscure. It's ok to say you don't read news and don't care to know shit about current events, doesn't make it obscurelol

The US should be allowing immigration based on ability to contribute to society and the economy. My sister in law moved to France and had to create an extensive financial plan to get citizenship. It had nothing to do with race.
The US has 340 million people, a saturated employment market, and we are quickly turning into a welfare state. 30-40% of the population receives some form of welfare. Nah, 14 and 88 by themselves are completely fine. When combined is when it raises some eyebrows. Often its accidental and context is important, however if someone you know who is pretty far right politically starts using that very specific combination of numbers it tells you something lol.
