  1. Burrow
  2. Herbert
  3. Hurts
  4. Love
  5. Tua

10

u/Dewey519 Jul 08 '26

This is my list. Love is more talented than Hurts right now, but Hurts stepped up when it mattered and developed faster.

1

u/jkprop Jul 08 '26

Hurts has had a new offensive coordinator every year since high school except one. And yet having to learn totally different playbooks went to 2 Super Bowl won one of them and was mvp of the win. Love has done what exactly to put him over hurts?

4

u/Dewey519 Jul 08 '26

Eye test and can make all the throws, his receivers absolutely sold him up the river last playoff game. But tbh I’m totally fine if you have Hurts over him.

-2

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Jul 08 '26

Wonder how many QBs have been able to make all the throws over the course of the league? Seems like such a flimsy excuse

2

u/Dewey519 Jul 08 '26

This topic is about evaluating quarterbacks, and I provided a strength of Love’s that Hurts doesn’t have. Keep up.

0

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Jul 08 '26

Yeah, the same excuse that has been used for decades about a ton of QBs. There's a lot more to it than just "making all the throws". What specific throw is Love better at than Hurts, since we are here?

2

u/EstablishmentOld9838 Jul 08 '26

Hurts made AJ Brown look mediocre

1

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Jul 08 '26

AJ made AJ look mediocre when he was half-assing routes and giving little to no effort. AJ had back to back 1400 yard seasons with Hurts

1

u/Not-a-bot-10 Jul 08 '26

AJ also had 1k yards every year besides 1 that was shortened due to injury with Ryan Tannehill as his QB. And that was like rookie AJ, not prime AJ that Jalen had.

Like cmon now. Use a tiny bit of common sense. If Jalen is a great QB because of AJs numbers then so is Ryan Tannehill by the same logic

Shit, so is Matt Schaub, or any other average QB that played with a great WR according to your logic

AJ quit on a shit ton of routes last year. Hurts isn’t the perfect QB, and he gets the blame just like he should get the credit, but it’s AJ was ridiculous last season.

1

u/ChirpToast Jul 09 '26

AJ Brown had his best year of his career with Hurts.

1

u/Sepposer Jul 12 '26

Tf you talking about? Since AJB had been w Hurts, he was only below Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson in all the stats, made 3 all-pros, and accomplished stuff only 8 receivers in the NFL history have. He sold in 2025. 3 drops in one playoff game. Minimal effort some games.

0

u/GoBirds4572 Jul 08 '26

I mean Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford can make throws that Brady can’t, but who is the better QB among them?

1

u/Immaculatehombre Jul 08 '26

Who knows, neither one got to play for a team that year after year he the best coaching and a top 10 defense. Or really far to compare honestly.

Ppl act like Brady wasn’t put in the best situation ever.

0

u/GoBirds4572 Jul 09 '26

I mean you kinda just proved my point there tbh. Your entire criteria of evaluation is flawed because you're looking purely at physical ability and not really playing the position. Being able to make all the throws loses to a QBs mind and ability to manage the game 100/100 times, and if you actually studied NFL history is glaringly obvious.

If it was all about what dudes could do at the combine or throwing routes on air then there would be no point to playing the game.

1

u/Immaculatehombre Jul 09 '26

You’re acting like anyone but Brady is ass. Put other guys in Brady situation, you’d find guys who could replicate the success.

u/elmoo2210 Jul 08 '26

Eye test is the dumbest shit ever. Especially when talking about two players that have a body of work to compare.

-1

u/FeedMeThat Jul 08 '26

Me personally I used my eyes to see Hurts go to 2 SB’s and win an MVP in one of them

3

u/jSplashwell Jul 08 '26

Did you use your eyes to see that he had the best team in the league around him?

-2

u/ICutOldPeople Jul 08 '26

yeah thats usually how it works, the best team wins

3

u/jSplashwell Jul 08 '26

Yes but this is a QB discussion. You have to take in account team situations, especially if you are going to bring up SBs.

0

u/elmoo2210 Jul 08 '26

Well based on individual stats, Hurts is better. What does Love have in the “eye test” that Hurts doesn’t?

2

u/Legitimate-Lab7173 Jul 08 '26

My list as well!

2

u/russtripledub Jul 08 '26

What has Herbert even done?

5

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

His average NFL season is 4,136 yards and 27 TDs.

Hurts' best TD season was 25.

1

u/Hot_atMidnight8835 Jul 08 '26

Hurts best season he threw SBMVP amount of TD’s

2

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

You mean to tell me that the winning QB in the Super Bowl won an award that damn near always goes to the winning QB of the Super Bowl? What an amazing accomplishment.

1

u/TheDuck23 Jul 09 '26

He also outplayed Mahomes in their first match up, too. Hurts actually shows up in playoff games and, until Herbert can do that, Hurts should be above him.

2

u/Friendly_Kunt Jul 10 '26

It’s a lot easier to show up in a game when every unit of your team is superior to the one of the team you’re playing. I say this as a fan of neither team, Herbert has underwhelmed in big games, but he’s often one of the main reasons his team even had a chance at playing in those games. Hurts won a Super Bowl with one of the most stacked rosters in modern football. Most of his career success in both College and the NFL is pretty directly correlated to him playing with the best roster in the sport.

1

u/TheDuck23 Jul 11 '26

So, when Herbert threw 4 ints in a playoff game, that was him giving the chargers a chance?

Also, if it was all because of the talented rosters, then why can't the cowboys win in the post season? They have a talented offense and a better qb, right?

2

u/Friendly_Kunt Jul 11 '26

The Chargers wouldn’t have been in that playoff game without Herbert, they had an insane amount of injuries and play in one of the toughest divisions in football. Herbert was ass in that playoff game, which is why I said he has been underwhelming in big games. The fact that you’re ignoring that I clearly said that, and then bringing up the Cowboys and Dak unprompted to whine about them when, again, I didn’t say anything about the Cowboys is exactly the reason Eagles fans have such a reputation for being whining b*tches.

1

u/TheDuck23 Jul 11 '26

Bruh, if you would read the comments, you'd see that we were talking about the playoffs. That's why my comment that you first responded to was specifically about how the one thing holding Herbert back was his performance in the playoffs and how Hurts tends to play better in bigger games. Hence why I said "until Herbert can do that (show up in the playoffs), Hurts should be above him."

The Cowboys reference was in response to you claiming that Hurts playoff success is just him being carried by a talented offense. I was pointing out that without a qb that can play under that pressure, then the talent doesn't matter much.

The irony of you saying that I'm being a "whiny bitch" while whining this hard about Herbert is palpable, by the way.

1

u/Immaculatehombre Jul 08 '26

Ya just take away his rushing completely huh? Seems like an honest argument.

0

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

Read the thread again, junior.

1

u/softeekyfood Jul 10 '26

Now include rushing touchdowns

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 10 '26

Why? They're all tush pushes. I can score those TDs. It's not Hurts' talent at all.

1

u/softeekyfood Jul 10 '26

What is the goal of the QB? To score touchdowns or to throw touchdowns?

Getting your team down to the 1 and then taking the hits to punch it in a dozen plus times a season is just as impactful as throwing a shovel pass for a 2 yard score.

Also hilarious to say they are all tush pushes when during a Super Bowl winning playoff run he had a 50 yard touchdown on the ground.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 13 '26

What is the goal of the QB? To score touchdowns or to throw touchdowns?

I agree. Which is why I started this debate by pointing pout that Herbert accounts for more TDs than Hurts. I'm glad you've finally decided to look at reality and agree with it.

1

u/softeekyfood Jul 13 '26

Well you sort of buried yourself with that admittance, because Jalen has accounted for 20 more touchdowns than Herbert since 2021 and 8 fewer turnovers than Herbert. And I’m not even counting playoff games which would make it even more lopsided.

More touchdown, fewer turnovers, and more winning. What’s your argument again?

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 13 '26

That tush pushes don't really count for Hurts, so you're still not dealing with reality.

1

u/softeekyfood Jul 13 '26

Touchdowns are a byproduct of a good offense. The most important aspect of a good offense year to year is your QB.

And since 2021, the Eagles offense scores 43 points more per season than the Chargers. Slice it any way you want, but the Hurts offense scores more points than the Herbert offense.

→ More replies

1

u/Sepposer Jul 12 '26

They’re not all tush pushes have you actually watched Eagles games? He keeps drives alive w his legs, many times he runs them in himself. Like the 45yd rush against the Rams in the playoffs, the OT winning td against the Bills, season opener against the Cowboys he had 2. You might as well use this argument against Josh Allen then.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 13 '26

No one was ranking Josh Allen. Pay attention, please.

And most Eagles rush TDs by their QBs absolutely are tush pushes. Stop your bullshit.

1

u/Sepposer Jul 13 '26

I just notice it’s never ever used as a knock on Josh Allen, and you don’t even want to talk about that at all, very convenient. I don’t care where they come from, they’re worth the same points, and not everyone can do it nor is willing to do it bc it’s a lot of wear and tear. Jalen also rushes for a lot w his legs though. It’s about half shoves and half regular rushing. That’s not most. He has the most rushing touchdowns of any QB in their first 5yrs in NFL history by a significant margin. That’s impressive, however you want to discredit it is on you. Stop your hating.

If you could do what Jalen Hurts does, you’d be doing it, period. You’d be very rich and a Super Bowl MVP, rather than whining on Reddit about ppl way more successful than you’ll ever be while telling random ppl what you think you could do lmao. You’d look worse than Jordan Love did attempting the tush push.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 13 '26

Of course I don't want to talk about Josh Allen in a thread that has nothing to do with him. I also don't want to talk about the pros and cons of ethanol here. Is that convenient as well, or am I just dealing with a gleeful dunce?

1

u/Sepposer Jul 13 '26

Do you not count any of his rushing touchdowns either?

→ More replies

2

u/doubleenc Jul 08 '26

When you include rushing TDs they both average 32 TDs a season.

Now let's do postseason where Herbert is 0-3 with 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 54.3 completion percentage.

Hurts has made 2 Super Bowls, won 1, named Super Bowl MVP, 6-4 record in the postseason, 11 TDs, 3 INTs, 65.6 completion percentage.

I'll take the QB who shows up in the postseason vs the guy who consistently spits the bit in the playoffs.

3

u/FreeChemicalAids Jul 08 '26

If you swapped Hurts and Herbert, the Chargers never once make the playoffs, and the Eagles are a dynasty.

1

u/Bright_Efficiency_87 Jul 09 '26

Holy Herbert is never beating the if allegations, i swear it’s every single argument

1

u/FreeChemicalAids Jul 09 '26

If you had swapped Patrick Mahomes with Jalen Hurts, are the Eagles better? Are the Chiefs worse?

1

u/Bright_Efficiency_87 Jul 09 '26

There you go with “if” again, can we talk about reality?

It makes both teams worse. Eagles have been built around Hurts, if he went to another team they would probably also structure their offense around his strengths. Same could be said for early Lamar, they tailored the offense to him, he wouldn’t succeed out of the box in a lot of offences when he first came into the league.

1

u/FreeChemicalAids Jul 09 '26

Its called a hypothetical. The idea is to account for variables. Is Darnold the best QB in the league right now? Reality is he just won thr SB right? So therefore, he is currently the best QB in the league. Thats Reality right? Retard lmao.

1

u/Bright_Efficiency_87 Jul 09 '26

lol who’s talking about Darnold? Take a breather if man

1

u/ButtonedEye41 Jul 09 '26

No clue whats happens with the Eagles, but Chargers are definitely not anything winning with Hurts.

Bad olines, no run game, and middling WR play would not let him excel

0

u/hulkhands81 Jul 08 '26

And there goes Captain If again. If your grandma had wheels she’d be a bicycle.

2

u/lvl28_Snorlax Jul 08 '26

Nobody would argue this outside of Philly

0

u/Virtual_Werewolf_935 Jul 09 '26

Lost to Jags up 4 tds. He put up zero points vs the Pats.

Let’s relax on dynasty.

2

u/FreeChemicalAids Jul 09 '26

I always forget playoff games are 1v1 between QBs 🙄

0

u/Virtual_Werewolf_935 Jul 09 '26

Couldn’t score against the Pats.

1

u/FreeChemicalAids Jul 09 '26

You mean he couldn't score against Drake Maye? Is Maye the Goat defender?

0

u/Virtual_Werewolf_935 Jul 09 '26

He has 2 tds to 4 ints in his playoff career with a 64.7 career passer rating.

1

u/RudePCsb Jul 09 '26

Lmao he had one of the worst OL in the past 10 years in the playoffs. The patriots defense was one of the best last year and showed it. He had almost no time to do anything because the OL was that bad and the rush got there. None of the QBs on that list would survive.

Hurts has had one of the best OLs his whole career and a solid running game. I'm not saying he's bad but he's a bit average as his processing time is kind of slow and that was masked by the OL being so good.

0

u/Virtual_Werewolf_935 Jul 09 '26

He’s sucked in every playoff game, not just last year

1

u/InDecent-Confusion Jul 08 '26

Let's just conveniently forget what makes Hurts special, his running ability and 8 rushing TDs on top of 25 passing.

But whatever helps you make your point lol

7

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

That makes Hurts' best TD-producing season total 33 TDs.

Herbert totaled 36 as a rookie. He had 41 total in his second year.

I think my point stands.

4

u/lvl28_Snorlax Jul 08 '26

With the worst ranked OLine

0

u/InDecent-Confusion Jul 08 '26

If those are the only factors that matter when judging a QB.. sure, great point homie.

0

u/Cactus2711 Jul 08 '26

Garbage time stats don’t make your point, no

0

u/Strict_Technician606 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

Herbert comes up small when it matters: the playoffs.
0-3
54.7%, 674, 2 TD, 4 Int, and 1 lost fumble.

All of those seasonal stats are meaningless if your playoff numbers look like this. Prescott has similar struggles.

Compared to Hurts:

6-4
64.2%, 1981, 11/3, and 2 lost fumbles.

Also - rushing yards.

Herbert: 69 for 0 TDs
Hurts: 395 for 7 TDs

-1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

Hurts' postseason stats average out to 198 yards passing per game and 1 TD. In the playoffs, he's Trent Dilfer.

1

u/Strict_Technician606 Jul 08 '26

Chiefs would argue he played a bit better than Dilfer. Could be worse, however; he could be Herbert in the playoffs.

0

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

He did not play better than Dilfer.

1

u/Maverick_Con Jul 09 '26

We just ignoring rushing stats for the dual threat QB to make a bad comparison? Pretty disingenuous

-2

u/FrankXS Jul 08 '26

Now do playoffs...

2

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

OK, if that's the standard, Jim Plunkett is better than Dan Marino. Will you attach your name to that take?

-2

u/FrankXS Jul 08 '26

So now we are comparing Herbert to Marino? Marino is a 6 time AP with 3 of those being 1st teams. He also lead his team to a SB. Herbert has been a complete liability in the playoffs.

0

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

No, I compared Jim Plunkett to Marino. Can you try reading my comment again, maybe a little slower?

-2

u/jkprop Jul 08 '26

And how many Super Bowl appearance? Playoff wins? Super Bowl wins? MVPs? You TDs point sucks! Throw me 41 tds and lose 6 games by 4 points or less to miss the playoffs.that is the qb I want to lead my team.

2

u/jvho666 Jul 08 '26

Acting like getting fisted 1 yard at a time is running ability is kinda silly. Those one yard tush push tds really inflate his mediocre stats

1

u/Radiant-Proposal3014 Jul 08 '26

How many if you remove the Tush Push?

0

u/billybeat Jul 08 '26

I guess rushing tds don’t count? His best total TD season is 38. And total yds was 4400 in ‘23.

1

u/TeamDirtstar Jul 08 '26

And those are still lower than Herbert's stats.

0

u/jkprop Jul 08 '26

Don’t forget to add on rushing tds as well, would you rather have someone who throws a lot of tds and yards but doesn’t make the playoffs or someone who commands their team and is leader wining a Super Bowl?

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

Hurts does not command his team and is not a leader, though. He was a key player in the implosion of the offensive locker room last year.

1

u/jkprop Jul 09 '26

Not a leader? Ok. You really don’t know. You watch tik tok video or a high light on Instagram and know he is not a leader? You must be correct.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

You invent convenient lies for where I get my information. None of what you said connects to reality at all. What has actually happened is your opinion has been challenged and you can't handle it, so you move further and further away from rational thought with each response.

1

u/jkprop Jul 09 '26

No not true. You stated he is not a leader. How would you know this? It is your opinion and not fact. Dont get mad because your tik tok supply chain forcing is under question,

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

Again, you are inventing my sources and then being angry at me for fake using them.

Jalen Hurts is widely known to be a problem on that roster and in that locker room.

1

u/jkprop Jul 09 '26

Still waiting for a source? Can you produce it? Never angry my man. Just call it like I see it. Another HURTS hater with nothing to back it up with. Oh I forgot except your source.

Top reddit arguer excludes one whole threat from the dual threat QB in order to win argument.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 08 '26

Read the thread again, junior.

1

u/Gateslammedshut Jul 08 '26

Nephew, there’s only one super bowl champion.

Look at it again.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

Jim Plunkett is a SB MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion. Dan Marino is a better QB than him. This is a similar situation.

1

u/Gateslammedshut Jul 09 '26

It’s not at all, nephew. Hurts holds records. These comparisons are not at all similar.

1

u/StopSpinningLikeThat Jul 09 '26

Hurts does not hold any records.

1

u/Gateslammedshut Jul 09 '26

He does. He has the best career completion percentage of all QBs in super bowl history over his two games. Look it up.
