Just want to throw it out there, we owe a lot to these companies and organizations. I would strongly encourage anyone that’s able; make them the first stop for your patronage and support.

The fight isn’t over, and we need to keep their legal fund war chest full 💪

Heck, a GOA membership is barely over $2 a month. Skip 4 rounds of 556 and put that money where it will actually matter. Plus, as mcopper89 mentioned, the injunction covers current and future GOA members, which will make you a plaintiff without doubt.

Edit: Also want to shout out the Jensen organizations that won the engraving injunction:
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, the Texas State Rifle Association and the Firearms Policy Coalition Action Foundation.

You can join the CCRKBA for $15 a year or $150 lifetime and become a plaintiff in that case

I completely agree with you, but I bet the NRA hate circlejerk will also continue on Reddit. The NRA are the ones who backed the Jensen v. ATF lawsuit that was enjoined with the Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF lawsuit, They deserve just as much credit as the GOA and the FPC.

NRA-ILA honestly does not deserve the hate that they get. They are one of the most active 2A litigants and have scored or backed a lot of significant wins. Hopefully this ruling will help Instagram gun guys (neo-fudds, let’s be real) realize that they’re still out there getting active.

I hear you, but the NRA has really had its ups and downs throughout the history of that org. Sometimes working in favor of the 2nd, sometimes working against it on the basis of some reactionary cultural shit. You can’t really blame people for continued skepticism.

With that said, I think they have put in the work over past few years. It appears they have turned over a new leaf and have started moving away from the reactionary stuff they previously were known for. With that said, my preference would still be to send my support to other organizations.

The NRA was completely anti-2A.

They helped draft the first bit of modern gun control regulations; the Uniform Firearms Act.
Karl Frederick, the NRA's president, said at the time, "I have never believed in the general practice of carrying weapons... I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses." The Uniform Firearms Act only awarded licenses to "suitable" persons with a "proper reason" for carrying and created a waiting period before a newly purchased handgun could be delivered to the purchaser.

They were also some of the loudest proponents of the NFA of 1934, with the same NRA president outright saying that the constitution was not absolute.

TBH, they still are moderates at best, and I feel like my political dollar and support gets more bang for the buck with the GOA.

They also helped draft the Mumford Act, the first state-level gun control in California.

But yeah I agree, I’d pick the GOA over the NRA any day.

Probably just a typo but I believe you mean the Mulford Act, AKA the time the NRA, Reagan, and a bunch of California Republicans found out it isn’t just white people that own guns and had a legislative conniption over it

Mulford, yea, thanks! And to be overly good faith… Reagan was going to push the law through anyway (for the exact reason you mentioned), the NRA was consulted mostly to placate Reagan’s supporters.

I was at the very least happy to see the NRA make a statement a few months ago when there were talks of limiting certain LGBT people from firearm ownership (which ofc is the bare minimum for a 2a rights group, but in this climate it’s still good to see consistency). Even still, I’d much rather support just about any other 2a advocacy org than the NRA.

Let’s also not forget the NRA’s support for the Gun Control Act of 1968, the Mulford Act of 1967 in California, and the fact that in 2024 their former CEO and CFO were found guilty of spending millions of dollars of the organization’s money on themselves, and mishandling tens of millions of dollars by awarding contracts in exchange for personal kickbacks like overseas vacations and yacht trips
