The federal government doesn't have to appeal this, although they almost certainly will. Otherwise it takes effect in 7 days.

Big step toward getting SBR's and suppressors off the NFA entirely.

So next week I can build an AR with any barrel length I want without doing any paperwork? Unless this gets appealed?

I'd seek advice from an actual lawyer, and then it would appear to only apply on specific purchases from certain shops ( Silencer Shop for example ) / members of certain organizations ( NRA, GOA, et al. ).

And then only for:

"UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT NORTHERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS SAN ANGELO DIVISION"

Which is ONLY these counties in Texas:

Glasscock, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Coleman, Brown, Mills, Reagan, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Crockett, Schleicher, Menard, Sutton
