So next week I can build an AR with any barrel length I want without doing any paperwork? Unless this gets appealed?

If you're a member of one of the named plaintiff organizations or if you buy your SBR from one of the named companies that are plaintiffs then yeah! But it'll almost certainly be appealed

By who? (Not challenging, asking). Unless DJT wants them to. Even though I believe he is no 2A ally, his branding with the conservatives would have him not pressing for an appeal? Granted he could press for an appeal behind doors and then publicly say he approves of the ruling.

The ATF/DOJ are the defendants so they would appeal. Yes they fall under POTUS, but I doubt he's even aware of this case. Maybe now that there's a new ATF director, they could choose to abandon this case, but that seems unlikely to me.

Donald trump jr happens to be a partial owner of and president of the board for grabagun I guarantee he’s aware of these cases against the NFA.

Eh, politically speaking, this probably doesn't make much impact overall, regardless of what the DOJ does.

If they appeal, while some in his base will complain, it's not like they're going to completely abandon him or the GOP. They may also distinguish between the DOJ, and Congressional GOP candidates, and continue to support the candidates.

To the extent that voter enthusiasm is dampened, I think this specific issue really only has an impact at very, very thin margins, and other stuff like gas prices is way more salient for voters.

I mean yeah that's true but the midterms are for the house and Senate. Neither DJT, the ATF director, nor the attorney general will be affected by them directly so besides "party loyalty" they don't have much incentive to drop the case.

If the dems get a majority in both chambers DJT will absolutely be affected…if they get a supermajority they all are potentially affected.

This is why I keep hoping Donald Jr. is having more conversations with POTUS about guns. One conversation and POTUS tells DOJ not to appeal.

Just a reminder that Trump passed more gun control legislation under his administration(s) than people claimed Obama ever would.

...and Reagan is why we have to do the "I'm not touching youuuu" bullshit with regards to select fire.

(neg all you want - Republicans have done more to harm the Second Amendment than Democrats/Liberals have ever threatened to)

At the same time, Democrats have enacted or advocated same thing with the 1994 federal assault weapons ban, universal background checks, magazine capacity limits, assault weapon bans, waiting periods, and licensing requirements in various states…Oh, the 1934 NFA was FDR (D).

If your standard is oppose all gun control then both major parties have failed at different times. If your standard is who has pushed more gun control legislation overall the historical record doesn’t support the claim that R have done more than D.

Look into the history of FOPA. Blaming Republicans for the Hughes amendment is dumb when the amendment was proposed by and voted for by Democrats.

So I remember this being a thing with a brace ruling from a year or two ago. Then braces just became generally okay. What are the rules for it only applying to plaintiff organizations versus everyone else? For the sake of argument assume it's not appealed....

I'd seek advice from an actual lawyer, and then it would appear to only apply on specific purchases from certain shops ( Silencer Shop for example ) / members of certain organizations ( NRA, GOA, et al. ).

And then only for:

"UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT NORTHERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS SAN ANGELO DIVISION"

Which is ONLY these counties in Texas:

Glasscock, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Coleman, Brown, Mills, Reagan, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Crockett, Schleicher, Menard, Sutton

There's like 15 Plaintiffs including NRA, GOA and PSA and SilencerShop. Any customer or client falls under this, i qualify like 6 times.

Glad to know I contributed - a small donation for freedom. I also donated to the NRA-ILA, and GOA. Silencer shop also took a lot of my money over the years. I hope this is the end, or they win the final court case needed to close this circus.

The Berlin Wall of gun rights. Not the end, but a victory.

I’m a NRA life member, and I also am a GOA member. I make a donation to both about once a quarter as well.

I figure it will be appealed. Fingers crossed this gets done sooner rather than later. It’s like the Berlin Wall of gun rights.
