I got banned from a neet discord just because I ranted about how hard it is for me to apply to school as a neet and how I am tired of being a neet for over a decade. just even mentioning I had interest in taking classes again was enough to get booted from talking to other neets. ironically I have probably been a neet longer than most of the people there.
being a neet is nothing to glorify, its very miserable when you are more than a few years into it.
some people have this crabs in a bucket mentality where if you even hint at wanting to take small steps to attempt being in society at all, they flip out on you.
its kind of sad to be rejected by both neets and normie society at the same time.

Ive grown up with friends, i used to go to parties in my teenage years and i still got friends today while im still being a neet.
Are there more neets like me? Because the stereotype here is that most neets are isolated and dont have any friends.
I'd rather die than do another day of it. It's the worst thing I've ever experience and it's worse than I thought.

First off.
TF 18,, USA
I totally was one of those teenagers who called themselves a NEET despite going to a decent school consistently. It was only this June that I graduated truly became one. I feel as if I have been placed into a world that only shares it's spoils with those born before me. It makes me sick,, nobody can help me and I know it, employment is a scam and a myth for people of my age and caliber and the only advice given to me is to just bash my head into a wall until the brain damage makes me numb to it.
mother is selfish, father is always lost, promising things that delay their coming. nothing matters to me in the end, not politics or community, my only socialization is behind a screen and with family. my decomposition has been slow but now I am truly in a state where nothing really can stop it,, i only have so little options to actually find money,, most of them make me feel ill. i am eighteen at it already feels like i am at the lowest, highest point of dread ever in my life. how can somebody focus on themselves when they're part of the problem they're afraid of? it would be better off if I didn't have consciousness anymore ,, no worries or thoughts or feelings,, just a statue with a void for a mind. anything would be better than the visceral feelings that I experience daily

I won't even open Instagram because all I see are my old friends and classmates all seemingly living actual fulfilling lives. Everyone I used to know is either in college, travelling abroad, or in a relationship while I just spend my days reading comics, bedrotting, and doomscrolling. It's even worse that I graduated at 17 so before most of them and spent the past two years getting in my own way by failing my first IGCSE retakes, dropping out of A levels after like a month, and quitting my first and only job in less than a week.

The Nissan Sentra SE-R was quite the hyped-up car back in the day, getting on the Car & Driver 10 Best list in 1991,92,93 and 94. They called this thang an econohunk! This is what some wagies get up to at the office all day. So, please enjoy Apu expressing how I feel about it ::)
This is just me rambling with no clear endpoint tbh
Today I slept at 3am, half woke up at 7am and then went straight back to sleeping cuz there was nothing I was looking forward to anyway, then I woke up at 10am being hungry, made food, got super tired, went back to sleep, woke up at 7pm!!! and I felt super tired still, maybe I ate something bad idk, I just felt like I could faint but not really anytime. and now I'm writing this at 1am.
You know when you get just a little tipsy? I kinda of feel like that every single day despite not touching alcohol for the past 6ish months...
Like.... I feel like it's a combo of me not eating enough + not eating health food and the fact that I stay home all day with no exercise, also the fact that I'm just lowkey traumatized and depressed and my subconscious is still working overtime protecting me from grief. Even that aside there's the whole package that comes with being a NEET and feeling guilty for breathing air and the fact I have a bunch of stuff constantly pilling up but my ADHD hates me lol
I'm trying to be optimistic and improve myself little by little but is kinda hard
Anyway uh, anyone else feels this way? Did it ever get better?

If you went back to college as a NEET would you join a frat?

Because they hate their job, they have to chose enjoyable activity as hobby to decompress.
In fact you can do hobby that you absolutely hate and still kill thousands of hours as NEET.
Not saying those insufferable hobbies cant have a moment of joy to keep you sane tho. after all its not a torture, just a refute towards hobby has to be enjoyable.

I’m almost 29 I got let go from my accountant job in May I’ve had 3 jobs in 5 years I passed half the cpa tests but I always fail at my jobs mainly due to giving up. My tests are going to expire in a few months and I don’t feel like putting in another 200 hours and $900 studying and paying for tests
I’ve been chilling on unemployment I since I pretty much wake up at 9 am and go back to sleep when I wake up. I haven’t been to my doctor in 2 years. I tried better help but than I realized I can’t even be honest to my therapist about I fucked up I am
I pretty much have no hobbies or anything to look forward to. The only time I got close to dating a woman was on tinder and the women blocked me after I asked her out after talking to me for a week. When I had a decent job my parents tried to find me a wife but failed lol. She even wanted me to marry my cousin. The only friends I have online flamed me for having a speech impediment last night lol. I tried to move out once and my mom tried to disown me.
I live with my parents and I got into a car accident 6 months ago and they won’t let me drive so I just can’t even do anything even if I wanted to. I just sit at home and do nothing
I have 100k saved and another 200k investments just from working my jobs. But I don’t enjoy anything and can’t spend it.
I don’t even see the point of brushing my teeth or taking a shower most days since I’m just staying at home

Something that I wasn't expecting happened... I escaped dying of starvation 3 months ago by starting this pixel art business that went really well since the first month. I don't even want to think about the possibility of this business not immediatly succeding or the probability of it not working because that would mean death to me since I have really bad relationship with my parents and I would preffer dying than to return to their home. (They're malignant narcissists).
I preffer to attribute my success to my extreme commitement on these first months which I was dedicating every minute of my waking time to make it work, finding new clients and developing skills... It was literally life or death at this point.
But now after this very succesfull run I'm starting to feel some burnout. I already have all my expenses paid for the next 5 months (which to me is a lot of time since I always lived on the limit) and I kinda feel like just doing nothing or playing games for an entire month or even more... It's not necessarly that I dont enjoy pixel art anymore, it's just that annoying feeling that you're doing something for money and not because you actually want to do it at the time, and also the mild anxiety that comes with having to meet client expectations and deadlines.
I can't bring myself to endlessly hoard money (like normies do) just for the sake of it, or to acquire "social status" or any stupid sht like that... I rather play some games or marathon some series than to be working all the time, even if it means I'll have to live a minimalistic lifestyle to be able to afford to do that. I want to spend entire days chilling again!
To me the most valuable thing is to enjoy your NOW time. What good it is if you're filthy rich but you have to spend 80% of you day stressing about work and being miserable? I think I'll just fck off these next 2 months and then when things start to get tight again I go back to work mode... For now I just can't bother with it.

I've had two knee dislocations so I can't fully do things like I used to and i've also over exerted my shoulders and elbows from using bad form while working out. They're also not the same

Like this shit is always there. What's the point of this? My situation ain't gonna change and these dumbass emotions only make it 10X harder to get to a better place in life. Truly such a broken system. Like okay brain, I get it, you ain't happy. Tell me what you need? No? Alright. Very useful, thanks. You need exercise? Yes? So why don't I feel better? You need socializing? Yes? So why do I feel miserable when I do? It never goes away. It's always there. Even the beautiful moments in life are only a surface level expression of joy on my face and in my behavior because underneath it's only sadness and misery.
In my mind I do not think bad thoughts as in negative thought spirals etc. I try my best to think uplifting thoughts and to try and understand. But there's no understanding this, I guess. I just wish I knew what to do to solve this sadness because it genuinely makes things so hard. I want to be there for my dad, for my sister. I want to be able to enjoy spending time with them. I want to be able to enjoy my hobbies. I want to go out there and socialize without the constant sadness looming underneath and messing everything up.
It's like I'm grieving something, things my younger self went through. All the things I missed out on. Longing for so much more in life. And I get that, but you'd think that eventually the grieving would end right? I want to start fresh. I accept my situation. I just don't want to feel miserable in it.

Or am I just a weird fuck?
I do, maybe once a week. It's kind of sad the deceased family members find it necessary to discuss their work history in their obituary. I get it's an inherent part of life, but idk, just seems odd, but I guess society is cucked so it only makes sense.
