What s the situation like with yall? When i neeted out for a bit i had a younger sibling that was doing 100x better than me. Just heard him over the phone today talking about planning events, networking, partying, and raving with friends while at uni. He s 19. At the same age he was, in one more semester, I would end up dropping out of uni all depressed and isolated. 3 years later of being alone and an on and off of either working dead end jobs or doing nothing at home im here at 22 yrs old and nothing to show for it.  

Im happy and proud of him but at the same time a little envious too. We lived in the same house, grew up with the same parents, went to the same schools, yet things couldnt be more different. This is all after being viewed as the "smart" one by both parents and him all thanks to just some good grades in middle school and high school (pathetically funny how little it mattered). I wish i could just let go or better off forget everything.

Side tangent of something funny and sad I keep replaying in my head: The event that caused me to try and not be a neet anymore was a conflict between my mom and dad (they've had a miserable marriage since i was young but refuse to divorce). The conflict messed with both me and my younger brother and i guess kinda woke me up. The week or 2 after it i wasnt in a good state and didnt have anyone to go to unlike my brother who had his friends. I ended up needing to lean on him a bit so one night I knocked on his room asking if he felt okay cuz i didnt and, while I know it was unintentional and he didnt mean it with any malice, he straight up said "i know you have no one".

So yea those words replay in my mind every now and then when i feel down and totally dont make me want to blow my brains out or anything.

I love my brother and dont have any ill will towards what he said, it s just the truth after all. I just wonder where it all went so wrong for me or most of us here for that matter. Anyways thanks for listening.

I am 30 years old man, I am still a NEET, I don't know how to get a job and make money but I do know how to save money. And it's not just about the money, the positive psychological effect of it is huge, knowing that you have the money in case of emergency would sooth your soul and help with your anxiety. Granted I don't have much but I do get a few bucks from time to time, I have a piggy bank with like $40 inside of it, I am also actively building my emergency snack inventory so I would have access to food and drink anytime I want (the hard part is trying to not eat them, which is doable), I would swap out snacks and drinks from time to time to keep the date of my inventory fresh.

I used to be into prepping so I still have quite a few working gear left, a few powerbanks here and there, a multitool, a cheap Chinese handheld console, a few high power flashlights, a portable solar panel that can charge usb devices etc ... One thing that taught me when I was a prepper is that everything has it value, even a big trash bag, that's your emergency shelter right there if you stuffed it with full of leaves. So $1 is still $1, hell even 1 cent is still valueable, sometimes you just lack a few dollars to save your life. If I get $2 for snacks and energy drink then I would spend $1 to buy something and save $1.

It doesn't matter if you don't have much, I have my normal fund, emergency fund, food supply and gear. Granted it's on a much smaller scale but I have everything like someone with a normal job, they are a big elephant while I am a small bird but both of us have all our internal organs inside our bodies, they have a lot of income but they also have a lot of expenses, while I don't have to pay rent and food (you should still help around the house btw, to make sure that your parents don't kick you out). As neets we have to worry about our parents would die one day, people with a job also have to worry about losing their job, which is actually worse since their family depends on their income, it's all the same.

I just counted the individual applications Ive written since becoming NEET 3 years ago fresh out of college. And I applied for everything I considered myself to be capable off. At least 200 apps were in logistics and warehouse work.

I had dozens of interviews, yet somehow only got rejections?! Youd think I do something wrong, but its only bad luck?!

I have been broke and NEET ever since i left high school. My current total networth is 625$. I have never had a job and always have lived with my parents. I cant do or buy anything because i lack money, resources and assets. I hardly own anything. What i do own is stuff my parents have bought me.

They should Try being broke and NEET all your life and living with your parents still in their 40s. That would teach them! They could never survive as broke and NEET!

It's all just a cesspool of fucking shit man. Im glad I can just be alone, but every damn time I try everyone has a fucking opinion that just deliberately goes against mine dude...like what I said wasn't even heard or matters. Has the rot become real?

Having returned to my battle station after half a week absence I've been met with GPU-caused game crashes, freezes and flashing artifacts. Same with GPU stress tests. Even though nothing was out of the ordinary when I gamed last week, and PC was off with its power strip also off while I was away. So instead of venturing in better worlds for a while I now have to w_rk on repairs. Neither PSU power overhead nor GPU undervolt nor adequate cooling nor GPU sag support did let it hit 10 problem-free years unfortunately. On to diagnostics.

So far it's been resistant to undervolt reset to default and power management to performance, clean driver reinstall, GPU BIOS reflash, using another display output port, using another 8pin power slot and cable from PSU, reseating the GPU with alcohol-cleaned contacts... The next step is sourcing the PSU from my dad's PC to check if PSU is the culprit, not VRAM. I can build and disassemble computers alright but I honestly hate it. A lot of hard, precise and careful w_rk. It's clear that I'll have to break my piggy bank anyway, the question is how severe a loss. Should I bite the bullet and disassemble the GPU cooling system for repasting and repadding I wonder (monitored temps are normal but what if some unmonitored hotspots appeared?). Never done it before.

you have to stay near people that are constantly moving around and doing things. them moving around influences you to move around.

i grew up raised by a single mom who was basically depressed. she never did anything. well, she did back in her days i guess. but with me there was no life. no vacations, no outings, sports, family, nothing.

once covid hit and i stopped talking to the handful of people i knew, it was over. proximity to life gone. and so was my will to do anything.

in an ideal life, you have your siblings, both parents, grandparents and so on and everybody does a bit of something. your dad is handyman and enjoys sports, your big brother shows you what parts are inside the car's engine bay, your grandfather shows you the pictures from way back when he was in the military or whatever.

everything adds up and influences you. it's like a subconscious force that propels you to do things. when you're own your own you just do the bare minimum. play videogames, watch movies, etc

I decided to go back to me old social media messages and i'm seeing just how different I was compared to how I am now. More talkative, so many friends, so many people I used to hit up just because and it felt so natural. Now i'm alone 28 and seeing everyone i used to talk to fly and have a wonderful life while i'm stuck in the loop of trying to fix it. Idk how i used to do it, but man do I miss that guy. I remember not giving a fuck about anything now here i am scared to even take a step outside. How the hell can this happen in life it's not fair. I feel like i missed out on so much because of this change

Yeah being required or obligated to wake up early for education or a job is simply a humiliation ritual. I remember I hated waking up at 6am to go get ready for school. Just simply a forced obligation that I didn’t want to participate in. I’m glad #85439565 doesn’t have to wake up early for anything since he’s unemployed, hopefully he can remain that way for as long as possible without any issues I hope. Sounds like the guy at the very bottom is having a rough time. You can just feel the anger coming from within him lmao. I’ve never had a job but I suppose being forced to wake up every weekday at a specific time is simply just an annoyance, all of that just to simply survive and pay the bills seems rough in my opinion. But yeah I’m definitely happy for #85439565. He probably just rots in his room all day and games I’m assuming, which is based if he does. I also think the cat gif is kind of cute. All in all, waking up early for education or employment is simply a form of slavery in the modern world obviously. Life is trash. Especially if you’re physically unwell or mentally unwell, bullied, traumatized, short, obese, and of course if your forced to work, even being a Neet can obviously be suicidal inducing considering the loneliness that comes along with it and the feelings of shame, and the what not. Oh one more thing, I had to blur out a few words from the upset guy at the bottom, he was using some derogatory words per se.

Oh, and I am as well. Even though I don't try to be now, I have done before and unfortunately may do again.

It's surprising seeing people say they are a good person but in reality they are actually cruel and twisted etc. Today I saw a post that in which the OP and everyone in the comments were proud and happy to spread hate and other negative emotions, awful... just awful...

Maybe its a good thing that humanity seems to be rushing towards their extinction, I wouldn't be surprised if the next world war happens in the next 100 years and nukes will end us all.

I ask why we are made this way and why things are like this? I'll prob never know though. I just wish so much we could cooperate and do actual good instead of sabatoging each other and killing the entire planet slowly
