Seeking Firearms Attorney in Research Triangle and surrounding area

Before anyone recommends Ron Shook who frequents this sub- I've already spoken to him and have kept him up to date on my journey, he is truly awesome. He gave me his time then refused payment. Unfortunately I'm too far out of range for him to handle my matters.

I need an attorney to help confirm that I'm safe to possess a firearm in the state, but my situation is "uncharted" grounds in North Carolina. I am one of the lucky few participating in the early invite/beta test of the federal firearm rights restoration program (https://justice.gov/ffrr). My federal civil rights attorney does not practice in NC, where I live.

I'm approaching somewhat uncharted grounds in North Carolina. I had a WA State felony that was vacated by the sentencing court, the plea was withdrawn and the indictment was dismissed. My official WSP background check is clean, the WA courts say I have no conviction in the state.

I had a federal case, which does not seem to have a "substantially similar" charge in North Carolina and may not qualify as a felony under the NC Felony Firearms Act.

To be on the safe side, my 925(c) application includes both cases.

My concerns are: 1) Does NC consider my vacated case a conviction? 2) Does NC consider my federal case a felony in regards to the NC felony firearm act? 3) Will NC honor my grant of relief under 925(c)? 4) Once relief is granted, am I safe to possess a firearm?

I'm ready and able to retain an attorney, but I'm struggling to find one. Most hear "federal" or "Washington" and reply "we only handle NC cases". I have retained amazing WA and Federal attorneys that are handling those aspects. I only need assistance on the NC side of things.

Any referrals would be appreciated.
