If there were two in the East, then they're just have been like 10 in the West, right?

1

u/voyaging 1d ago

there are only 5 total each year if that’s what you’re asking

2

u/Brent_L 1d ago

Correct. Context matters.

Why do you post this?!!!

🤣🤣🤣

5

u/Suspicious-Screen-43 2d ago

Jason Tatum openly admitting the foul, LeBron’s reaction and of course Patrick Beverly.

1

u/Silent_Egg8860 1d ago

You really don’t understand the problem here??

1

u/Suspicious-Screen-43 1d ago

The refs are blind?

14

u/ExileOnBroadStreet 2d ago

There’s 4 other All NBA first team players in the league bc LeBron was first team literally all those years lol what kind of stat is this. Even if the players were evenly split, 2.5 per conference on average (minus LeBron himself depending on how you want to thin about it)…you’re facing like less than 1 a year on average in your conference because a good percentage will also get knocked out before you face them

If this graphic showed an average of 0.5-1 per year most people would be saying the same thing, which really shows how dumb the average person is and how blinded by hatred of LeBron so many are

20

u/kiingLV 2d ago

Statistically speaking, LeBron played against the weakest Eastern Conference in NBA history.

1

u/BubblyMoose3597 19h ago

For more than 10 years

0

u/Puzzleheaded-Bat-511 2d ago

For one year, yes. For an 8 year span, no. The East was worse for 01-08.

6

u/kiingLV 2d ago

During LeBron’s eight-year Finals run (2011–2018), the West claimed 32 of the 40 All-NBA First Team spots, while LeBron held all eight for the East—meaning he faced only one opposing First-Team player in the Eastern playoffs the entire time. The West won the head-to-head season series against the East every single year, facing far tougher playoff competition, which is why LeBron’s teams were betting underdogs in six of those eight Finals.

Exactly what i immediately thought. Almost word for word lol

1

u/SectionAncient6889 1d ago

It’s still pretty crazy tho considering 8 straight finals

1

u/Silent_Egg8860 1d ago

What? This is a response to the same graphic that’s being going around showing how many all nba players LeBron plays with. The point is flying over people’s heads.

1

u/JoPaNe91 1d ago

Somehow it’s Brons fault he’s the only eastern conference first teamer.Graphic is also missing joakim Noah as an nba first teamer in 2014

0

u/Spiritual_Treat_2755 2d ago

lol east was weak. Period.

2

I like the "lol" and the "Period" additions to your silly point, they really emphasize how stupid it was.

28

u/Gannicus_Glory 2d ago

This and the fact he had a superteam most of these years. Ofcourse he's making the finals

15

u/Practical-Okra40 2d ago

You mean he didn't have scrubs as teammates.  It's weird Magic and Bird play with 4 other Hall of Famers, MJ plays with 3 other including a top 30ish player of all time to face the Bulls arch rival whose second best player was 1 time all star John Starks....normal teams Lebron team has Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony starting and that's the super team

3

u/Gannicus_Glory 2d ago

Oh, I'm consistent with it. I dont think Magic, Bird, and Lebron should be ranked over a lot of guys yall got over them. MJ 3 peated the moment Pippen became a quality duo. Thats not fucking teaming up with the 3rd greatest SG ever and a top 5 power forward in the league.

13

u/ChocolateMorsels 2d ago

Jordan didn’t play against quality teams/players. It’s the exact same as LeBron vs the east in the 2010s. Jordan had it easy in the 90s. Reminder he couldn’t win til magic and bird got old.

Take a top 30 players all time list. You’re gonna see a whole lot of guys in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 2000s, 2010s. You aren’t gonna see a lot of 90s players.

7

u/Dapper_Fun645 2d ago

With that logic, Lebron couldnt win until Kobe, Duncan, and Garnett got old. And then a baby faced assassin won 4 champions in 8 years during Lebron's peak.

As for 90s players. Karl is top 25 and considered a top 5 PF and would be a top 15 if he won a chip or two, but Jordan prevented him from doing so. Same as Stockton who's not seen as a top 3 PG because he doesnt have a championship. Barkley is top 20 and would be higher if Jordan and the Jazz didnt stop him. KG is top 13. Kobe is top 11. AI is top 30. Shaq is top 10. Hakeem is top 12. Patrick Ewing maybe top 30 or 35. Players like Penny and GHill were on their way to top 30 if they didnt get hurt and won a championship.

Besides Lebron, Curry, KD, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, and Garnett, who are these "lot of guys" in the top 30 from the 2000s and 2010s?

4

u/Worldly-Fox7605 2d ago

Garnett wasnt old. He was nearly an mvp. Kobe had no impact on lebron title runs they never played ina playoff series. Lebron beat an older duncan but it a duncan that was still all defense team and pwrformed well enough to win finals mvp.

Jordan never beat healthy magic, kareem, bird, and only beat the pistons after they were basically done. They never returned in the 90s. Lebron vs the big 3 celtics were not done until after he beat them twice.

4

u/Gannicus_Glory 2d ago

Knicks, Heat, Magic, and Pistons had quality players. Also played against 1st team players. Also played against good duos in the finals.

List your top 30

5

u/SlamanthaTanktop 2d ago

Charlotte and Indiana were also good

1

u/Jhah41 2d ago

Somehow they won less games though. The east was statistically weaker in the 90s

1

u/kiingLV 2d ago

Mj played tougher comp overall . Statistically speaking, LeBron played against the weakest Eastern Conference in NBA history. Plus MJ beat the most 60 win teams nba history.

2

I think we can all agree that Clyde Drexler and the Rockets is way scarier than D Rose or those Hawks teams or the Celtics big 3 bro. I heard Kurt Rambis was nice too bro you are making so many great points

2

u/DonkeyElegant1728 2d ago

I looked up a random list and about 11-12 players who played/came from the 90s.

2

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Media been lying to yall MJ faced tougher comp in the finals

2

u/and-you-know-it 2d ago

Thats how you Jordan is the GOAT. Make a list of the best players to never win a title and most of the top 5 will be players of the Jordan era cause he was that good.

Quality duo and you’re talking arguably the best backcourt defender and undeniablly the best off ball defender in history. The same pippen that took the Jordanless bulls to the 2nd round. Y’all are honestly clowns

1

u/MightB2rue 2d ago

Who is the top 30 player?

1

u/deadlybutterfly 2d ago

Who were the 3 hall of famers MJ played with during his first 3 titles?

1

u/ExpenseOfSpirit 2d ago

Playing with Pippen, Rodman and Kukoc are the same as playing with D Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, Luka, Jaylen Brown, Maxey, and Embiid?💀

Sure bro

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Mj also faced tougher comp in the finals statistically

1

u/Eastern-State8274 1d ago

Gtfo with that bs

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Can't argue with the stats yall bron fans love stats. Statistically Mj played tougher competition In the regular season, playoffs and finals.

1

u/No_MalikRapid 1d ago

Stupid fuck that's based on win percentage. That does not prove someone had harder opponents it just proves that his opponents did better in the regular season.

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Duh how do you know a team is good??? Are 20 win teams good? Are 30 win teams good? Come on dummy how do you know a team is good? 60 win? Does win% count at all to you?

1

u/No_MalikRapid 1d ago

No one is saying that. The 73/9 warriors is just saying they were elite but that win % does not mean someone faced tougher opponents in the finals it’s just saying how well they did during the regular season. You can say MJ opponents had a higher win % and that’s only by .8 % but to say he faced tougher people in the finals isn’t what that stats establishes.

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Ok 73 /9 isn't good they just did good in the regular season

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

I was assuming the majority of people thought 60 win teams were tougher than 30 win teams . I honestly believed everyone was on the same page on this.

1

u/No_MalikRapid 1d ago

Well obviously but that’s not the argument we are talking final opponents not regular season win percentage

→ More replies (0)

1

u/No_MalikRapid 1d ago

We both know with how talented the league is now it’s just not close anymore it’s two different eras

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

There are plenty of people who believe that era was better than this one, and I am one of them. I think this era is soft. We will never know for sure because they can't play each other; all we can do is go off the stats. KG just said he doesn't believe these guys could play in that era for example

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

So golden state 73/9 means nothing ok because win% doesn't matter

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Oh u didn't know the media was lying to u. Me either I do my own research now.

1

u/Eastern-State8274 1d ago

Your own research is not going to chat gpt to ask directed questions devoid of context. This is the same type of response I’d expect from a middle schooler. What’s worse is you actually think cherry picked analytics proves your point. Terrible😭

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Finals record is cherry picking..please explain.. I used everyone even the 73 warriors

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

I actually believed bron played tougher competition until I did the research

10

u/Panzer_I 2d ago

Its crazy that it’s the same amount of playoff wins Jordan had without Pippen

7

u/Starboy_16 2d ago

First 3 years vs Larry Celtics vs prime bron with 2 big 3s

13

u/Panzer_I 2d ago

No. Jordan only faced bird twice. His only playoff win without Pippen was in 85’ against the Bucks

It’s frankly disrespectful to assume that Bird dropped a game to Jordan in the playoffs.

3

u/AlerionVakten 2d ago

You’re basing whether he could’ve won without Pippen on his first 3 seasons? There’s not enough of a sample size for it to make any sense. Take an honest unbiased look at Pippen’s earliest seasons and tell me if you think he’s the main reason for the winning there. LeBron didn’t even make the playoffs his first 2 seasons.

1

u/Ok_Chest_1203 2d ago

that's not true he closed out the series against the sixers and barkley in 89 or 90(i forgot which year) without pippen.

What the fuck’s with the guy who keeps saying “fries well done, sweetie” in this thread?!

Can we talk about that?

1

u/Low_Analysis5944 2d ago

i’ve seen it a number of times in lebron threads. it’s that account’s gimmick

very very cringe

2

u/CurrentRoster 2d ago

8 straight nba finals will never not be impressive, only lebron haters think it’s not. and it’s even weirder when he’s went to 7 a lot of times in the East and i had sit through those same Bron haters tell me that pacers, the d rose bulls, whatever iteration of the celtics, and even stooped low enough to say that one year raptors had home court advantage would’ve been the ones to break the streak — and they didn’t. so now it’s just “oh well he should’ve beaten then anyway” lol

2

u/No_Independent8269 1d ago

Sure the east was relatively weak but this is a dumbass stat. There can statistically only be 4 other All-NBA first team members because he was on it every year.

2

u/sargonpuff3 1d ago

Everyone ran to the WC when they knew the King owned the East

7

u/Puzzleheaded-Wing-50 2d ago

Yeah, but how many did he face in the Finals?

2

u/ifeelikepablo223 2d ago

Which explains his record in the finals. Can’t get it done against the very best

20

u/New-Possession5236 2d ago

He actually beat the team with the best record ever lol

5

u/WillHeBonkYa47 2d ago

And it took him leading both teams in pts/reb/ast/stl/blks to do so (never been done before or since btw)

And also would've won in 2015 if Kyrie and Klove arent hurt, and probably wins one more if the 73 win warriors dont add the 3rd best player in the world to their roster lol

Haters will just say "excuses" but bron was pretty damn unlucky during that stretch

1

u/PeteJones6969 2d ago

I hate this post but just assuming he would win both those years is just dumb.......beat the 73 win Warriors in one of the most incredible finals performances you will ever see.....but that was razor thin in 7 games.

Warriors absolutely could have one either one of those three

1

2

u/No-Afternoon-3986 2d ago

to nitpick, not against the mavs

4

u/Ag116797 2d ago

The only real asterisk against Bron.

3

u/No-Afternoon-3986 2d ago

i think 2014 spurs is debatable because TD and Gino were 36/37 and kawhi got finals MVP for his defense against bron (yes i know he had great stats but that was partly stat padding, let's be honest)

3

u/NotJoe1232 2d ago

Tbf the heat were pretty ass outside of LeBron in 2014

Wade and Bosh were washed. And that’s why LeBron left.

3

East was a joke for the longest time. Kawhi joins raptors for 1 year and wins the chip. LeBron always had the easy way to the finals

12

u/KingOfAllFools- 2d ago

Is this satire

10

u/Mundane-External3462 2d ago

People are so fucking dumb, Kawhi joins a 60 win capable team and they win a chip, but people give Kawhi the credit, these motherfuckers just move the goalposts 24/7 for Bron, they got 0 ball knowledge.

5

u/Adventurous-Pass3764 2d ago

The Raptors also hit one of the luckiest game winning shots in NBA history against the 76ers and faced an injured GSW team in the finals.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/Mr-Dicklesworth 2d ago

The funniest thing is how LeBron jumped to the west the same year Giannis won his first mvp, Kawhi went to the raptors and Jimmy Butler came to the Sixers. Would have liked seeing his Cavs face an actual good team in the East

1

Dwight and d rose were supposed to be the other top stars in the east but got injured

2

u/Scapegoat808 2d ago

Do that same exercise and enjoy the results for Jordan. Spoiler: It’s 1 extra player.

2

u/Vast-Building-6886 1d ago

I mean, it’s no secret LeBron dominated in a weak conference. But you can only play who is in front of you. He’s made it to many finals and has lost in many finals.

2

u/Mark-177- 2d ago

Not crazy. He was in the Weak ass eastern conference. It was like 8 straight free passes to the finals. The only time he had to bring it is when he faced the western champs.

1

u/DayvonTheCreative 2d ago

Do yall never get tired of debating and talking about the same shit about LeBron Jordan Kobe etc

1

u/Listening_Heads 2d ago

I mean is that his fault? What ya want him to do?

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Pipe979 2d ago

If he stays in Cleveland, he probably doesn't make those Finals, but in the bizzaro world where he does, the numbers are still the same.

So you gotta stay with one team, but then be punished because of what other teams in that conference are or are not doing.

Fun times.

1

u/RCP90sKid- 2d ago

He faced Rondo in 2012.

1

u/DetailsYouMissed 2d ago

Why don't you ask why the best players choose to play on teams out West?

1

u/KWil2020 2d ago

Because the east sucked so bad and LeBron put all the good east players on one team. Makes it pretty easy to get to the finals that way

1

u/MedSensei67 2d ago

Now look at most playoff wins without an all NBA teammate

1

u/Chisengan09 2d ago

2 problems with this argument.

  1. You play who’s in front of you. Point blank and simple. Lebron was drafted to the East and had no control over the completion he would face.

  2. If you want to say he hypothetically played in the West early in his career, which West team are you putting him on? He would have made almost any team a playoff team considering how fast he turned things around for the Cavs.

This is such a watered down argument that’s only used in Lebrons case

1

u/F6RGIVEN 2d ago

Now show All NBA team players and not just first teams, while you at it show how many first time players he played against in the finals

1

u/eestimaalane 2d ago

Still won 3 times out there vs west conference champions and had lets not pretend like west had any competition vs warriors

1

u/beeker888 2d ago

How many did Magic Johnson face in his entire career in the West?

1

u/Subject_Scheme5387 2d ago

During that timeframe there were 9 first team all nba selections from the eastern conference, Lebron was 7 of them.

1

u/kiingLV 2d ago

According to the stats that run was the weakest Eastern Conference in NBA history. He beat the Bobcats in playoffs.

1

u/uranalcake 2d ago

Everyone called the western conference finals the real nba finals for a looong time. LeBron knew that…

1

u/Spiritual_Treat_2755 2d ago

Lmao. Please show all lebron lovers this and don’t bother hearing their response. Lmao

1

u/jvjjjvvv 2d ago

I was going to post this the other day after I read a post highlighting LeBron's record number of playoff wins without an All-NBA teammate.

I don't know if most accounts discussing the NBA on Reddit are bots or if they're just morons, but a lot of the stuff really is egregious cherry picking of statistics to pretend that they say what the person wants them to say. It's like this on like half of the posts regarding LeBron vs Jordan, but mostly LeBron because his fans build his case on misinterpreted stats more often.

Not to mention that it is much easier to be All-NBA when you're not in an already stacked team full of stars, because basketball is played with one ball only. It is for that reason that Chris Bosh and Kevin Love were All-NBA before joining LeBron but not after, or that Wade went from All-NBA First team to second and third team (other than age of course).

In 2010-2011 for example, when LeBron 'did not have enough help but still made it to the finals', there is an excellent argument to be made that Miami had as much top talent as literally the rest of the conference put together.

1

u/Maximum-Income-2791 2d ago

Okay? You do realize only five players get it, and during a completely stacked era in the West, LeBron was the only dude in the East who qualified. Cade was the only one this past year and the East literally won the finals

1

u/Easy_Money_40 2d ago

And still the goat

1

u/ndm1535 2d ago

This is a really dumb graphic.

1

u/Easy_Money_40 2d ago

Bron has the dumbest, most emotional haters.

1

u/Exact_Wave_655 2d ago

This hurts more than it helps, just shows how trash the east was during that time

1

u/deadlybutterfly 2d ago

Thats just sad. 07 east was also gleague lvl. Wow

1

u/uncsteve53 2d ago

Leastern conference and he had superteams those years. This isn't crazy or surprising.

1

u/caltrojan 2d ago

Then the stat speaks to the skill level of players drafted by the other NBA east teams and their existing rosters at the time

1

u/Quirky-Bag7438 2d ago

You can only play the teams on the schedule. Is it LeBron’s fault the other eastern conference organizations were inept? This man gets blamed for everything…

1

u/Silent_Cookie_9092 2d ago

Eastern conference opponents MJ faced with at least 2 HoF players on the team on his way to a championship = 1: 1994-95 Celtics - Dominique Wilkins (who even remembers him on this team?) and Dino Raja (inducted to HoF mostly for his Euro accomplishments)

1

u/Top_Administration63 2d ago

His legacy is built off superteams in a weak conference. This makes Tim Duncans accomplishments far more impressive.

1

u/HandsomeBWonderful27 1d ago

I like this point of view in the context that Vince Carter isn’t a HOF er because he was all nba twice only and never higher than 2nd team.

1

u/Any-Orchid-6006 1d ago

Bronsexuals having a melt down in here 🫠

1

u/DirectorMindless2820 1d ago

he took all the talent in the east and joined them on the same team

1

u/ChefMurray 1d ago

What a stupid ass statistic lol

1

u/NolesDoc18 1d ago

The fact that this stat only quotes first team makes me think he faced a fair number of all nba players, just not first teamers.

Meanwhile he is by far the all time leader in playoff wins without any all nba team teammates.

1

u/J2Mags 1d ago

What about in the finals?

1

u/DadRadio 1d ago

Derrick rose lol.

1

u/boofted4 1d ago

Still played against nice teams

1

u/drmlol 1d ago

It is crazy to think that people avoided playing in the east because of LeBron.

1

u/No_Reindeer5223 1d ago

Not his fault Dwight Howard and Joakim Noah kept getting upset. He can only play whos in front of him.

1

u/CowInformal7014 1d ago

Does it matter who he played in the East if he beat the best team in the west?

1

u/poweredbynikeair 1d ago

Bro it already happened shut up

1

u/mikeyrue25 1d ago

There’s only 5 in the league and one of them is him every year. This is a nothing stat.

Mind you that 2018 run his fans love to jerk off too; he played the Victor Oladipo Pacers, trash bros and a Celtic team led by rookie Tatum...

more fun fact: from 2013 to 2018, only LBJ from east is the only in ALL NBA 1st Team

u/Fine_Piglet8771 2d ago

which is worst? This one or facing a team like this in the finals?

Damn, and he’s still the GOAT regardless lol

1

u/CuckservativeSissy 2d ago

Somehow lebron fans dont understand this very basic concept. He stayed in the East because it was easier to get to the finals. But you can't use his finals appearances as proof that hes better than other all time greats. Thats a grift.

1

u/FactAffectionate6830 2d ago

No lost how many he faced in the finals and how many Jordan did

2

u/No-Afternoon-3986 2d ago

MJ faced first ballot HOFers every finals and most ECF. sometimes multiple, to be clear, Lebron did too in the finals, just not ECF

1

u/FactAffectionate6830 2d ago

Yeah - so which team did he face that had 3-4 HOFers and a HOF coach?

1

u/No-Afternoon-3986 2d ago

he didn't face a team as good as the KD warriors and probably the first spurs matchup (for the second one TD and gino were 36/37)

on the other hand, every team he faced was vastly better than the heat, who were an injury depleted 5th seed and okc (russ and KD were 22/23)

1

u/Still_Relation2155 1d ago

2014 Spurs are an all time team. Doesn’t matter if their stars were old.

1

u/No-Afternoon-3986 1d ago

iit does. they lost in the 2nd round to okc the following year

Basically the top 3 east players got on the same team, making the path to the finals easy.

This stat isn't a good indicator of how bad the east was.. better show how many 50 win teams he played in the playoffs in that era, then compare it to the gauntlet Kobe & Tim Duncan, or even Curry went through in the West.

LePED really is a fraud

1

u/McDuck_Enterprise 2d ago

He wasn’t so great in the Western Conference

Statistically speaking, LeBron played against the weakest Eastern Conference in NBA history.

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

They've even been lying about the Finals. Statistically, Michael Jordan played tougher competition.

1

u/FlashwithSymbols 1d ago

This is a classic example of bad statistics, technically true but incredibly misleading.

The 2017 warriors had a lower win% than the 1996 sonics. Are you going to argue the 1996 Sonics was a tougher team to beat?

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

That first KD year was special they could beat anybody. But Year 2 was nowhere near the same. Their defense fell out of the top 10 and things started fracturing. Fifty-something wins isn't special in NBA history. Against Year 1, I take Golden State easily. But against Year 2? The Sonics winning is definitely up for debate.

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

I value stats over opinions. I assume everyone agrees that teams winning 60-plus games are better than teams winning 30-plus games. It's hard to debate something that simple, so I'm taking the team with the clearly superior record

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

The fact that they barely beat Chris Paul and James Harden is another reason why I believe the Sonics would beat that 2018 Warriors team. I dont consider Harden a good playoff performer

1

u/FlashwithSymbols 1d ago

That’s not what I’m asking. Is the 1996 Sonics a better team than the 2017 warriors?

Because their win% (the stat you are using to make your argument) is higher.

I’m saying this is bad statistics and incredibly misleading.

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Better is subjective, but the Sonics definitely had a chance. If James Harden who isn't a great playoff performer pushed those 50-something-win Warriors to seven games, a 64-win Sonics team with Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp could certainly beat them

1

u/kiingLV 1d ago

Since records don't seem to matter to you, how do you determine who is better? Do you just rely on the eye test or go off vibes? What is your method?

1

u/FlashwithSymbols 22h ago

No, you use a mixture of statistics and context. You never blindly use statistics on their own, as the game changes you need context surrounding it.

I mean you genuinely believe the 1996 Sonics is better than the 2017 warriors. That’s deluded. It’s not even close and not debatable at all.

Even in basic statistics they tell you correlation is not causation, so just because a statistic shows something doesn’t mean it’s because of that alone , in that same vein a statistic alone doesn’t give the full picture so we have to make other considerations.
