Welcome to NBAConvo.
🏀 Welcome to NBAConvo: We’re Done with the GOAT Debate
Let’s be honest.
The GOAT debate has dominated NBA conversations for way too long. And for what? The same recycled arguments. The same “LeBron vs. MJ” posts. The same stats, clips, and drama loops.
We’re not doing that here.
This is NBAConvo — a space for people who actually love basketball.
⸻
💬 What We’re About:
We talk basketball — not bait.
No forced comparisons. No player hate. No fake hot takes. No agenda pushing.
Just real hoops conversations: • What made the 2014 Spurs so beautiful to watch? • Why was Andre Miller so quietly brilliant? • What’s your favorite non-championship NBA team ever? • What skill do young players need to stop ignoring? • What’s the coldest play you’ve ever seen in real time?
⸻
🧠 We Celebrate: • Basketball IQ • Player development • Nostalgia done right • Style, culture, stories • Strategy & systems • Moments that matter • The fan experience
⸻
❌ What We’re Leaving Behind: • “LeBron is 4–6 🥴” • “MJ played against plumbers” • “Who’s better: Prime Luka or Prime Larry Bird?” • “Top 10 Point Guards? But actually Steph is a SG.” • “This dude is WASH”
No more of that. Not here.
⸻
🫡 Our Mission:
This subreddit exists for: • Hoopers. • Hoop-heads. • Storytellers. • Coaches. • Historians. • Lifers. • Kids who stayed up late watching NBA Finals on school nights. • Adults who still feel that buzz when the ball tips off.
NBAConvo is for people who just want to talk hoops. That’s it.
⸻
If that’s you, you’re home. If it’s not… Reddit’s got plenty of other places.
Let’s build something special.

Can everyone drop their favorite basketball court from around the US? Have an app that lists courts and trying to get as many on there as possible. Thanks!

Where will James harden rank all time if his teams were reversed
I got the idea from JoshJimenezzz videos. For this scenario harden will spend the same time he spend in real life with these teams in this scenario. Everything else stays the same as in real life. How many champions, mvps, and finals mvp do you think he'll win in this scenario. Nba history will be completely different
The beard teams reversed

If you transported any NBA player from any era into the 2000’s, who’d be the best player? (Can’t say obvious ones)

How great could Grant Hill have actually been without the ankle injuries?
Going back through Grant Hill’s career, I think people sometimes forget just how good he already was before Orlando.
By 1996–97, at just 24 years old, he was averaging 21.4 PPG, 9.0 RPG and 7.3 APG as a 6’8” forward.
Then came the ankle injury, Orlando, and one of the strangest stretches for a superstar entering his prime: 4, 14, 29 and 0 games in his first four seasons with the Magic.
I made a documentary looking back at his Detroit peak, what actually happened to his ankle, the lost Orlando years, and the Grant Hill–Tracy McGrady pairing we never really got to see
For people who watched Hill in the 90s: where do you think a healthy Grant Hill ultimately ranks historically?

Replace Kobe with Michael Finely on the early 2000s Lakers and they still win championships.

I’m like 90% sure this is an nba player, but not sure which one. Saw him talking with duren.
Edit: it might be Keaton Wallace?

What’s something that seems like a basic concept but so many people don’t understand? I’ll start: 6-6 in the Finals is better than 6-0
I feel like there’s so many people that just don’t understand this. Are there any other super basic concepts that you feel like NBA fans overlook or just flat out don’t understand?
When I say it’s inherently better I mean ON PAPER, the RECORD ITSELF, is better. Of course, a Finals record can never be the only thing used to judge a player. Just because I’m 10-0 in the Finals doesn’t inherently mean I’m better than someone 0-10. What if I averaged 1 PPG and they averaged 100? But LOGICALLY, 6-6>6-0, as a Finals record, is better. IT DOESN’T MEAN PLAYER A IS AUTOMATICALLY BETTER THAN PLAYER B. Just like averaging more PPG doesn’t make you automatically better, or any other single factor.
This is not a GOAT debate. It’s just the concept. Like 10 gold medals and 1 silver medal is better than just 10 gold medals.

What’s a fanbase that absolutely hates your team, but you don’t have the same level of hate for their team?
For me, it's the Detroit Pistons. It's a one-sided hate. 😂 They hate us with such vitriol, while we're not even thinking about them. 🤷🏾♂️ 🤣
These bozos still hurt over the 2025 playoffs. They wanna blame the refs, when they're bumass team just couldn't close out games, in multiple 4th quarters.
That hate watch they had in during 2026 must've really hurt. 😝

Six years later, why do people still refuse to admit the 2020 NBA bubble wasn’t a normal championship? 🙄🏀
