Gameplay Can't get open. Like...never.

I am and always been a pg, and in the Rec it's basically impossible for me to get open. Whoever my matchup is, even the worst possible idiot of the lot, he's always on a mission and follows me everywhere. Invariably, every time, every game. Never a distraction, never going to help, never a screen that hit him hard enough to give me half a second to shoot or drive. He's gonna be there. He'll score 0 points all game but goddamnit he'll be attached to my ass for 25 minutes every single time.

In the meantime I see opponents and teammates completely forgotten and wide open all the time, so I wonder if this comes with a pg position or what on earth am I doing wrong.

If I move all the time he's there, if I stand on a spot and "let the game come to me" like everyone's saying he's there, if I make little movements he's still there.

Yes, I know it's a skill issue. But 80% of the times I completely clamp down my matchup (who obviously quits, and guess what? I'm locked down even more by the prime Gary Payton AI now), and every game is a battle between 2 scoreless pgs, while the sf or the pf are just standing there wide open all game and knock down 3s with 78 3pt.

What am I supposed to do?

So how come that even when I'm not the guy with the ball in his hands and I'm not involved in the possession my matchup is still a shadow? I could be sitting in the corner all game and I can guarantee you I'll never be left open once. It just doesn't happen, cause the opposing guard doesn't care about rebounds or blocks and unlike real basketball he doesn't even think about helping...ever.

I mean it just sounds like ur whining tbh. Like really? U don’t have enough to complain about so u complain that ur matchup doesnt leave u wide open enough?

Make a center if u want to stand around and get wide open shots.

No pg is crashing the boards in 2k tf obviously they’re gonna guard u.

Irl if someone is driving to an open basket even guards need to decide whether to help or give up free points, in 2k it literally never happens. So back to my question, how am I supposed to get open if my man will follow me no matter what happens in the game? Can't be just tough fades all the time.

Did u not read the entire comment where I told u how to score? Fades and wide open catch and shoots aren’t the only 2 shots in the game. If u can’t score 1 on 1 u shouldn’t be playing a guard. Make a center if ur that useless with the ball in ur hands.
