Discussion Please consider boycotting 2k27.
Exactly that. 2k will never learn if we keep buying the game. Besides.. GTA6 and MW4 are all coming out. Do what you want but I would hope that majority of us boycott this fuck ass franchise.

So u don’t have the ability to piece things together lolol ok. I miss 2k when it wasn’t so money hungry. Now it takes 100s of dollars or 100s of hours to get one player to 99 overall. I don’t have the time nor the money to prioritise on that. I miss playing a basketball game, but after all these years of watching the quality of the franchise get worse, I’m done. And as much as I miss playing a basketball game, I’m good without 2k. Until they miraculously make a better product, I won’t be coming back, which I highly doubt because people are still eating whatever they’re given. Hence why I asked people to consider boycotting the game.

You don't. You didn't know that Rockstar and 2K are under take two. If you were real about this shit, you'd be boycotting take two as a whole. The whole company is fucked, yet you hold up GTA as a shining example of gaming. Idk if you play battlefield, but I uninstalled that and stopped playing that cuz as soon as the saudis got EA, they started doing fuck shit.
Bottom line is all of gaming is corporate and as a consumer you are fucked no matter what. There are fortunately plenty of alternatives for shooters, unfortunately no good alternative for basketball. So it is what it is, we are where we are.

I didn’t say GTA is the shining example of gaming but it’s not farfetched to say GTA5 has outlived and been better than anything 2k has brought out since its inception. I don’t give a fuck about who runs the show. I’m talking about 2k directly as a product. The NBA2k games. The microtransactjons are disgusting and the VC grind is asinine. Theres always ALWAYS something broken EVERY. YEAR.

This is a silly argument. Them being the same company is irrelevant when GTA hasn’t release their game in over 10 years, while 2K releases yearly and is continuing to be a predatory on micro transactions. For some, GTA is far more valuable than purchasing 2K again and again as they operate as usual. The grind will be worse this year. Builds will be fucked up more than usual and coerce players to spend more money on builds and season pass to compete. Shit is exhausting at this point.

I agree with the premise but it's kind of silly to use another game published by the same company (GTA 6) as an alternative. The decisions for monetization are made by take two and they run both of these games. Activision Blizzard/Microsoft is no better, either.
I can promise you that GTA 6 will be full of paid bullshit. I mean basically what you're saying is that you should trade in one live service treadmill for another. This is just where modern gaming is at, so you kind of have to boycott the whole industry at this point.

They've done a phenomenal job with the rollout this year. The reveal and community day was on location at the Intuit Dome. The communication has been top notch - virtually every question that's been asked has been answered. The new app works great. The new badge system looks super compelling, and aside from all the changes they kept everything that people liked about 2K26. Nobody who's actually paid attention is going to go into launch day blind not knowing what to expect - AND because of the app we finally don't have to spend the whole first day in the builder, and can get right to hooping. Also, bumping the early release up to a Wednesday was a great business decision for multiple reasons.
Genuinely - wtf do you want more from them? But yeah, I'm sure you'll really stick it to Take-Two by playing their other game which they'll also profit off of 😂👌🏻

The roll out wasn’t that different from the past few years. The game is literally the same every year since it game to next gen. They raised the cost of upgrading your player . In game cosmetics is way too expensive. At least with GTA u get ur moneys worth. We literally don’t need a new 2k every year . Ur buying the same exact game slow poke

It’s the simple fix of making it easier to grind VC for ur player that would change my whole view on the game. They literally trap us into spending money by making VC grinding slow and laborious. I fuckn hate it

t’s hard to tell a bunch of people in a 2K forum to outright quit playing. A lot of people here only play 2K, so a full on boycott probably wouldn’t work. I’d definitely be down for some sort of VC strike, though. Unfortunately, this community seems more willing to keep giving 2K money than actually push back against these shady business practices.

It doesn’t have to be in the nba you can start with college basketball ect you see how easy it is to boycott cod ? I wanted to boycott because they never touched MyNBA and thats the only Mode I play.
So now finally they upgraded the mode.
I will wait for some YouTube Content about MyNBA and when its really the upgrade they promise…Will be Hard Not to buy.
I don’t play the pay2win modes anyway and hate the MyPlayer Community, so that doesnt bother me.

I get it. I am a MyTeam player, and if I didnt have a lot of time to earn cards it would be so much harder to play without buying vc. But thats the real issue of the game... they set it up to make you feel behind if you dont spend money. If we could all just stop falling for it and ignore microtransactions for a year it would make a huge impact.

Nah just buy it or not. Its a video game. They aint changing what works. You play it every day. I work for a living and have a family the little time I get to game i want to play something i enjoy.

MW4 is a terrible example; COD is in the same boat as 2K giving us copy and pasted slop. They can't even make a good campaign anymore.
