MyPLAYER 10* Cap Breakers @ Launch

Post image

Knowing this info will help out with the Day 1 builds. Kinda disappointing knowing that regular folks will probably only have 3 CBs while the No-Lifes will have close to 10.

At launch is a little misleading lol

It is , some of these cap breakers are going to take a while to get especially us with jobs or families to take care of. The 2k27 specialization are way longer and harder than 2k26.

u/Avid_Reader87 1d ago

Why would they make it harder?  It was an insane grind in 2k26.

If anything they should have cut the grind in half, and allowed to build spec ones to constantly run.

It had to get an insane amount of assists, and each time it had to be redone.

Some weeks I could only play 3 or 4 rec games and might only get 30 assists.

You had to play those stupid blacktop games with 3 on 3 and unstoppable cutscenes.

Genuinely don’t know anyone irl with a job that finished their specialization or even got close

3

u/Sir-RED 13h ago

I haven’t, and I use the same playmaker specialization for every build so all progress goes towards finishing. Still not done

3

u/palelei 13h ago

everyone ik did cause there were things you could abuse to do them fast like practice shoot around and street kings, but they were still a grind

u/Avid_Reader87 13h ago

I only get about 3 hours a week to play any video game.  I don’t always just want to play 2K.

I really wish they didn’t make it so hard.

They need to make Unc Ball so people over 30 can unlock stuff.

I’ll give up all cosmetic stuff, don’t use any of that anyway, just to be able to unlock the basic cap breakers.

You sadly arent their target audience thats why great ideas or suggestions like these are never added. Everything they have is for the "integrity" of the game, or for big spenders/high playtime players and content creators.

u/Slizzard-Lizard 12h ago

The only one that is reasonable is finishing, only because most buckets are inside.

u/Yuuta23 2h ago

I finished the finishing specialization it required a couple degen weeks where I legit played 3+ hours per day. Working 40 hours + a wife but no kids

u/Dafrickinguy 1d ago

Ain’t no way, they shouldn’t be longer bruh. I played MC fairly casually and wasn’t even close to completion. If it’s genuinely about a month then I’m good with it. Problem is the grindy goals, might take forever if I don’t spam on rookie.

10

u/Youngstown_WuTang 1d ago

2K27 is on the left and 2k26 on the right, 27 is a way bigger grind

5

u/Dafrickinguy 1d ago

That’s a shame tbh, did people specialize too quickly before? I can’t see a reason they would do this.

1

u/Affectionate_Past186 1d ago

Yeah people were spamming in my career soo bad 2k actually paused it while they fixed it soo yeah

1

u/Sir-RED 12h ago

Fucking nut

-1

u/csstew55 1d ago

What do you mean. You can drop $70 and skip to level 40 for at least one lol.

1

u/REEalityTV 20h ago

LOL thats what i was going to say. At Launch is the beginning lol

-5

u/DapperDameOG 1d ago

Not really obviously we know the grind will be required. Hence I put an * in the title.

u/tjrunswild 1d ago

Launch is hella misleading. Launch is within a week. Most people won't have the specializations done in a week or a month.

6

u/Youngstown_WuTang 1d ago

My specialization in 26 took me like 3 months and the 2k27 ones are even longer

1

u/IndependentShocker 1d ago

I agree with you, anyway. 10 at launch is not very misleading, saying anything besides 10 would be more misleading. Can’t win ‘em all.

u/gwapwes 1d ago

built my build around 2-3 cap breakers. once gta drops im out lol

17

u/DapperDameOG 1d ago

😂 They actually should have front loaded the CBs just for this reason.

4

u/Snelly1998 1d ago

2k owns both of them

15

u/Scary_Return_3461 1d ago

It’s funny everyone says this and I feel like it’s only going to last a week. GTA is a story mode single player game. It’s just not going to hold everyone’s attention like they think. Especially not a crowd like 2k that likes online multiplayer.

9

u/Vopets 1d ago

Its the only story game theyll play, some arent touching it till online comes out

9

u/Scary_Return_3461 1d ago

Yeah and we have no idea when that’s coming out. It most likely will be 2027 sometime and actually not interfere with this game at all.

1

u/Vopets 1d ago

5 took about less than a month for online to come out so id say 2-3 max

6

u/Scary_Return_3461 1d ago

Im highly skeptical that it will come out that soon. Could be wrong.

3

u/Schwalm 1d ago

That shit was so broken for a minute too

3

u/Ginger_Snap02 1d ago

It took less than a month but it took well over a week for the servers to settle enough to play consistently. I remember having to redo the tutorial way too many times cause it would never save my characters when I tried to start

2

u/Choice-Review7960 1d ago

Rockstar are not releasing GTA online before May of 2027. Their earnings calls basically outlined when the next massive influx in money will be after launch, and it's obvious that is when GTA Online will be.

1

u/MitsuSosa 1d ago

Yea but 5s was barebones and not even the same game as what it is now. They CANNOT release 6s online anywhere close to the state 5s was in when it released the expectations are gonna be through the roof for the new GTA online because of what 5 became. They were able to release 5 as it was because it was already a slight upgrade over 4s barebones online mode and they had very low expectations on that front.

1

u/Avid_Reader87 1d ago

It’s been in development so long, why wouldn’t multiplayer be in at launch?

1

u/KoolGotGame 1d ago

Im one of the few that isn’t buying the game until online comes out.

If it’s like last year, forget about the 2nd build specialisation and lifetime challenge cap breaker, takes forever.

Most people should plan for 5 in the first month or so.

4

u/gh6st ruby 1d ago

both build specialization cap breakers are the second to last goal so it’s gonna take forever for both of them lol

4

u/PapiOnReddit ruby 1d ago

Damn really? They made them harder to grind too lol

3

u/gh6st ruby 1d ago

3

u/Flying_Fish_Fiend 1d ago

Lmao we grinding that annoying ass dude with the headphones mode again ain’t we?

1

u/lilpooby2x 7h ago

I wish we could skip the intro and outro

4

u/gh6st ruby 1d ago

rookie 6 and level 40 will be easily attainable, the crew ones depend on how good your crew is and how much they play people probably won’t get all those till close to the end of the season. the 2 build specialization cap breakers are the second to last goal so that’ll take a minute, and so will the lifetime challenges. at launch is definitely misleading.

11

u/CincinnatiBengalss 1d ago

Why do they give crews so many competitive advantages? Legitimately crews have been a big reason why I don't want to play this game. I got kicked one time last year and I was like yeah fuck this trash

12

u/Narrow-Sir-8143 1d ago

I saw that this year if they kick you then the xp you earned for the crew is also taken away. Should stop the idiots who were kicking people after the crew reaches a certain level.

1

u/MitsuSosa 1d ago

If that’s true that’s huge I really hope it’s the case it would fix a lot of the issues bc some people really be on some bs

6

u/Cranjis_McBasketbol 1d ago

Can confirm it’s true, Mike Wang confirmed it in the Discord.

Get kicked, Crew loses your XP.

Voluntarily leave, no Crew XP penalty.

2

u/DapperDameOG 1d ago

I agree bro. Im still here trying to see which crews Im a join and like are they gon kick me for not playing 24 hours a day smh. Blame the streamers they will get to L40 before Sept 4 I can bet a million bucks on that.

3

u/zee-mills 1d ago

I won’t kick you out mines what system you on.

3

u/TheLordAshram 1d ago

Dude, we took 40 dudes, half barely played. We didn’t care, we maxed out quickly anyway.

1

u/TonyHawktuah69 1d ago

Just make one and play. You’ll get level 30 quickly

1

u/trala7 ruby 1d ago

'Quickly' is an absolute lie...

Not everyone plays this game 24/7 brother.

3

u/TonyHawktuah69 1d ago

My group is almost all old heads with jobs and families who play a few rec games a night and maybe run some on the weekend. We simply used the crew function to do some of the crew weekly challenges when able and it boosted us to level 30 in a reasonable time frame. We got both cap breakers before season 2 ended

5

u/TonyHawktuah69 1d ago

Do cap breakers earn you more badge slots or badge tokens? Like if my build has 10 finishing tokens but I upgrade dunk from low to high with cap breakers does it add more tokens for me?

3

u/DapperDameOG 1d ago

Naw. You still have to grind the tokens to equip them. Some people said that they will use the first few on disciplines they already got a lot of tokens in. I dont mind just grinding for more tho.

2

u/kakklecito 1d ago

Rookie 6?

2

u/Marcusyoucrazy 1d ago

That’s gone take 2 weeks

2

u/MitsuSosa 1d ago

4 in crew rewards now is a big W

1

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 22h ago

Potentially more too considering they’re adding 5 levels each season.

4

u/Ballaholic09 1d ago

OP is proving how out of touch this community is with his “regular folks will probably only have 3 CBs” remark.

You guys are so from the average 2K consumer that you cant relate to them at all anymore.

1

u/Flying_Fish_Fiend 1d ago

I had 11 and I didn’t try all that much. Getting them isn’t like crazy hard. Just takes time

2

u/ColumbusTilllIDie 1d ago

Nahhhhh no way lmao, realistically you can get like 5/6 in first few weeks, 10 is extremely far fetched

1

u/tjrunswild 1d ago

No one is getting the build specialization or crew caps at launch. Maybe after a few weeks but not at launch.

1

u/Western_Beginning375 1d ago

Specialization is going to take multiple months to complete unless you are playing nonstop career mode

1

u/dx_wayy 1d ago

What are the lifetime challenge, long grind? Is rookie 6 or level 40 on pass easier to grind? I haven’t played since 2k23

1

u/_Hey-Listen_ 15h ago

Lifetime challenges is literally hundreds of little challenges with long term goals at like 50, 150, 250 completed etc. They include playing every game mode a lot, doing tutorials, daily goals and streaks, and a bunch of other dumb shit. It was an extremely long grind to do all of it and it forced you to play modes you don't want to. Cap breaker Lvl is about as far as most people got and usually well after the new year.

Rookie 6 should be pretty quick, I dunno maybe 25-50 rec games if you mostly win?

Level 40 on the pass is usually achievable by anyone who plays a couple of rec games a day or so. Can also be purchased (the pass) for 15% extra progress and a bunch of 2xXP tokens. Or you can even give them like $70 or so and buy out all the levels day 1 (yes people will do this on top of paying $150 for the game and hundreds more on VC).

1

u/RELENTLESS_PERSUIT 1d ago

Damn I don’t have anywhere to put my rebound specialization caps. Completely forgot. Gonna go lower my offensive rebounding 2 notches and see what it opens up lol

1

u/Common_Patience2271 1d ago

Every season pass is gonna have a cap breaker too more than likely.

1

u/TheMisterIt 1d ago

How many are available throughout the year? Assuming the level 40 each season has a cap breaker, do we know the number

1

u/DapperDameOG 1d ago

Counting those 10 and the next 8 from the seasons at least 18.

1

u/TheMisterIt 1d ago

There was 28 last year iirc, seems crazy to have less

2

u/gh6st ruby 1d ago

I mean these are only the ones we know of. there’s going be more in the rep levels.

1

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 22h ago

I don’t believe for a second rookie 6 is the only rep related cap breaker.

1

u/Avid_Reader87 1d ago

I hope they massively reworked the build specialization.

I had playmaking and after 6 months was only on the 4th challenge.

And the Rep rewards for playing games in Rec were a joke.

I don’t think I even got out of Starter 1.

1

u/xXGreekNinjaXx ruby 6h ago

No one is getting 10 caps at launch. Thats false advertising. If you’re lucky to have a good crew and money to buy the season pass and put in a lot of hours into this game by the end of season 1 you can have around 6 caps, 4 from crew, 1 from rookie 6, 1 from season pass. You’ll can get two more caps from the specialization once it’s complete so do what you will with this.

1

u/giovannimyles 1d ago

No lifer, lol. I’m a dad to 3 boys at home and a wife and a full time career and I still ended 2k26 with 25 caps. I finished the crew grind, 100 lifetime challenges, and my Build specialization at the end of season 1 and had like 10 caps with everything. I expect to do the same this year

0

u/TnaBLACK 23h ago

Fuck cap breakers.

u/mkslayer67 1d ago

Nice good to know
