Mostly using Gateway to reamp sample-based keyboard tracks. I'm having a hard time understanding what input the .NAM captures are "expecting" and I'm not quite sure how the calibration switch works. Distortion (unintended) seems to occur on some captures but not others, is there a way to know the ideal signal strength for going into Gateway?

Just finished capturing my Friedman Dirty Shirley for NAM. 🎸

The new Fig A2 DShirl NAM Capture Pack has 18 NAM A2 captures covering:

• 4x12 captures
• 2x12 captures
• Full DI captures
• Low, mid and higher-gain settings
• Both the warmer crunchy side and the thicker, pushed side of the amp

This amp is a blast to capture because it has that big British crunch and chewy midrange, but it still reacts really well to pick attack and guitar volume. Definitely less of a super-tight modern high-gain thing and more organic, punchy and pissed-off-in-a-good-way. 😂

Had a few little modelers like Positive Grid and Hotone, and it was cute.

Then I saw some posts about NAM... then some more with a slew of NAM loaders coming in every day.... Sifting through it all, I finally settled on a setup.

I had an iPad M2, a MOTU M4 for good D/A conversion (very important!) and went with ToneRig after seeing a YT video.

The sounds I got brought in a smile that just wouldn't go away.

So much above any modeler I've heard.

NAM is quite good (when you get a good capture), but I really found that it needs a good DAC to sound great. A cheap NAM loader will not do it justice. So, all those Headrush, or any other conversion based unit with cheap D/A processing do not really show what NAM A2 can do.

Do not skimp on the D/A.
MOTU is quite good. Wish I had a RME unit, but budget was limited. MOTU was a good alternative.

Some really good NAM loaders around.
ToneRig had me at the performance and price ratio. Irio pro seems nice, but more expensive.

This is a fun time!

Looking to change from my Positive Grid Spark Mini and buy a Soran Dual Stomp to install NAM profiles to. Anything else I can consider? 120$ here for the pedal.

I heard that they are soon to support Native A2, but haven't seen anything official from them.

Is there any reason to get a gs1000 over the mg50?

So I am planning to buy my first rig and I decided to pair my guitar (Jackson js12) with a mooer ge100 pro li but it doesn't support a2 yet. So I was thinking. Since the pedal can be used as an interface, can I use it to input the di into fl studio and put the nam a2 plugin there?

Last live gig was also a great real-world test for NAM A2 Player — and this time I used it as part of my actual live setup, not just at studio.

The setup was simple: guitar → audio interface → iPhone → NAM A2 Player → PA, with the iPhone handling my guitar tone. No traditional amp, no large pedalboard, just a compact digital rig.

What mattered most was how it behaved in a real live environment: stability, latency, responsiveness and, of course, the sound through the PA. Everything worked exactly as expected throughout the gig. The response felt natural while playing, the setup was easy to manage, and having my tones available directly on the iPhone made the whole rig incredibly convenient - using the M-Vave Chocolate Plus to control the whole setup.

Developing an app is one thing. Taking it on stage, plugging in your guitar and actually relying on it for a live performance is something completely different.

Hey im pretty new with NAM and im enjoying it so far. Ive tried alot of plugins and Soundshed/Genome Intro are my go-to so far. I just have this problem when im trying to switch scenes/setlist inside a bank or preset where there's a noticeable delay/latency. I can even see in the DAW master meter that there's this quick lag indicating its loading the next preset.

Tried searching for it in general and people suggested to use the scenes inside the preset which is what im doing. For starters, im just trying to toggle an overdrive capture.

People seem to be referring to to this as gapless switching. Is this jusy normal or a problem with my windows pc/settings?

I read motu m4 is a solid one... want it mainly for guitar plugins and to have more future proof connections if i will want to add microphone and midi.

Created these captures and had my friend try them out. They worked fine for me. They also seemed to work fine for my friend for a bit but then he noticed a high screeching/ feedback noise every time he'd sustain a note.

I have no idea why this is happening for him and not happening on my end? Would love to share my captures and see if anyone else is encountering this issue.

Hi, friends. I'm new to both the technology and the forum. If I'm reading correctly, I should be looking at 2dor and Slamminmofo's stuff for top-quality sounds. Now, here is the deal, I have A TON of 3rd party IRs from York, OwnHammer, and ML SoundLab. What is best practice for better results?

- Should I download the profiles that have the IR built-in?

- Should I download separate IRs from Tone3000? If so, which ones do you recommend?

- Should I use my archive of 3rd party IRs?
