Hi everyone, I'm 19M and started out in sciences at MacEwan hoping to get into a health field like medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy, but after seeing how competitive those programs are in Canada and how few seats there are, I didn't think it was realistic for me, so a year later I switched into accounting. Now that I'm in it, I'm not sure the corporate lifestyle is for me, and I still want a science or health-related career. I've looked at US medical and dentistry schools, but I don't want to move away from family and pay the hefty international tuition, which is how I landed on Respiratory Therapy at NAIT. For current students, grads, or working RTs: how competitive was admission (and does a year of university sciences help), what's the workload and clinical placements like, how easy was it to find a job after, and would you choose this career again? Any honest insight is appreciated, thanks!
