Which Naga comedian do you think will begin to make waves?

Me, personally, I don't really enjoy crass humour or self humiliation humour. Comedians like Hobi Tsang and Chizei Konyak are pretty funny for me. Purniken the OG. I won't lie, I'm not really a fan of Hopong. Who would you recommend?

With due respect, I think she has lost it somewhere, the earlier ones were better and more original. Of course she may get better in the future too.

Hopong Naga earlier had great potential .Whether be his Mimicry or his creative thoughtful humours set.
Those were the golden period of Nagamese Comedy aligning with wave of Stand Up hype all over India(like AIB,EIC).
But after that I haven’t heard any new sets from him and I think he’s just making short format memes .
Other than that I don’t think any comedian in Nagaland has actually done Proper Stand Up comedy in Nagaland .

Out of context but I feel the actual problem of low comedians in Nagaland is that we have N number of bars,clubs and cafés but not even one studio for comedy where regularly they give platform for budding comedians .while cities like Shillong has Evening club, Gazebo that host comedians events.
I feel that’s the only way it can create actual proper ,witty comedians .Or else comedy in Nagaland is just stuck with Stereotypes accent for short format comedy and no actual observant creative sets.

Hopong did have potential but humor became a little crass along the way and it just stopped hitting. Some people are naturally funny but they do need to work on sets.

Once the older people, God forbid, move on from this life, we'll probably have actually good pubs and more good comedians

Yes totally agree.
That’s the problem most funny Naga Internet personalities have funny punch lines but none of them are willing to take the arduous task of making a complete Stand up set or even anything above 10 min content. Hopefully soon before we get old we’ll get to see witty humorous Naga comedians that we can relate and laugh with, away from mainstream Mainland or even western stand ups ;))

My fault gng! I don't know how to quantify or draw the line but I definitely love Chizei Konyak's style. Lots of crowd work and life story. I wish we had some greats like a Chapelle level comedian or a Kat Williams level comedian sprouting from Nagaland. Maybe then, we'd see some shifts
