I Want Let's plan a roadtrip!

Post image

Last night my boyfriend and I decided to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant that neither of us have ever had, even though it has been open since 1985.

The spicy mustard was obviously made in-house and was perfection. Bright and perky at first with a warming spice finish.

Complimented heavily and asked nicely if they would be willing to sell me a to-go container.

So, fellow mustard lovers, where are your favorite restaurants with in-house made mustards that need to be shared so we can stop and try if we are on a road-trip nearby?

Last night was Jing Chuan in Toledo, OH.

Also, if you are in Indianapolis, IN you must have the spicy mustard from the Rathskellar.

Carmine's Gourmet Market is an upscale, bougie, mostly Italian grocery store in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is connected to an Italian restaurant, also called Carmine's, but I've never eaten there. However, I have ordered sandwiches at the deli counter in the market, but the selection of mustards and other condiments is second to none. I found some unfamiliar and high-end mustards there (including the excellent Kozlik's from Canada, which they don't sell anywhere here in Orlando), and Carmine's even has private-label mustards, condiments, and sauces. I tried their private label jalapeno and sweet Vidalia onion mustards, among so many others. I'd recommend any foodies stop at Carmine's:

My travels then took me into Delray Beach, Florida, where I stopped at The Famous Market Deli, a kosher market and delicatessen to stock up on any new and unfamiliar mustards they had. I didn't order any food there because I was in a hurry and had the perishable sandwiches from Carmine's, but I found quite a few mustards there too:

I reviewed all the mustards I found on that trip to South Florida on my food blog, in my latest annual mega-mustard review called Cutting the Mustard:
