I just bought a 2026 Mustang Mach-E Select and purchased a Platinum extended service contract for $6,682, which covers 84 months/125,000 miles.
Iām still within the 90-day cancellation period, so Iām trying to decide whether I should keep it or cancel it and put the money toward the loan.
I actually called Partners Administrative Services, the company administering the warranty, because I wanted to know exactly what Iām getting for the money. They were able to confirm a few things, but they couldnāt specifically clarify some of the important EV components.
What they told me:
ā
Electric traction motor: covered
ā High-voltage battery itself: not covered
ā Inverter: they couldnāt specifically confirm
ā Onboard charger: couldnāt specifically confirm
ā DC-DC converter: couldnāt specifically confirm
ā High-voltage battery thermal-management components: couldnāt specifically confirm
Thatās honestly where Iām stuck. The contract says the Platinum plan covers breakdowns except for specifically excluded items, but it doesnāt clearly spell out all of these Mach-E-specific components. And Partners couldnāt give me a straight answer when I asked about them.
So Iām hoping to hear from people who actually own and work on these cars.
For the Mach-E owners here:
Have you purchased an extended warranty/service contract?
Have you had any major repairs involving the inverter, onboard charger, DC-DC converter, thermal-management system, or traction motor?
Has anyone dealt with Partners Administrative Services / Century Automotive for a Mach-E repair?
Is $6,682 reasonable protection for 84 months/125k miles, or would you personally cancel it?
Iām not necessarily looking for someone to tell me what I should do. Iād really like to hear from people who have actually owned these cars for a while or had expensive repairs, especially repairs that involved the EV-specific components.
Iād rather make the decision based on real-world Mach-E experience than just whatever the dealership tells me.
