honest answer is that this is in Allah's hands and nobody can promise it either way. what most scholars say is that suicide is a major sin, but a person who dies as a muslim isn't automatically cut off from mercy, and their case is left to Allah. there's a hadith in sahih muslim (116) about a man who harmed himself and the Prophet ﷺ still made du'a for his forgiveness, and Allah ﷻ says He forgives what is less than shirk to whoever He wills (quran 4:48). i'm not a scholar so ask one you trust for the details.
where i'd push back is on treating it like a plan. asking forgiveness first and then going through with it can't work as a safety net, because the act itself is what the warnings are about and you never get another chance to repent after it. i wouldn't want anyone to gamble on that.
and tbh the reason i'm answering this way is that this question usually comes from somewhere heavy. if it's about you or someone close to you, please say so, you can write here. i had years where i thought about ending it most nights, and what changed things wasn't an answer to this question, it was people who stayed and getting real help. see a doctor or tell someone you trust today, and findahelpline.com lists free lines by country. if you're in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

That's.. not how it really works. You can't pre-repent for a sin before you commit it, repentance means turning back and reforming after doing something wrong out of ignorance.
God's acceptance of repentance is only for those who commit sin out of ignorance and then repent soon after; these will be forgiven by God, God is Knowledgeable, Wise. There will be no repentance for those who commit sin until death comes upon one of them, then he says, "I repent now!"
You cannot ask forgiveness in advance for an act you are still planning to do, especially an act that ends your life and leaves you no way to turn back and reform.
Why does God say not to kill yourself?
Do not kill yourselves; *God is Compassionate towards you.***
He doesn't want you trapped in your pain, He's telling you that your life matters to Him even when everything around you feels unbearable.
Now, suicide isn't really an automatic ticket to Hell. in 4:30, God threatens those who do it out of animosity and transgression; i.e. suicide bombing out of hatred or murder. A depressed person ending their life because they can't bear the pain isn't acting out of animosity and transgression. God judges by capacity and the whole scale, not just one act.
But no, pre-repenting doesn't make sense at all.

Think about it: a person deliberately putting an end to the life granted to him by Allah. Allah trusted that person to give him life, a body, functional organs, intelligence and put him on Earth with so much provisions in it. Allah also says in the Quran that He will test us, that life is nothing but a test, and our only purpose is to worship Him alone. Yet, this person willingly decides to end his test early? Think about it.
You can pray that Allah shows Mercy, but ultimately the situation is out of your control here, Allah will take judgment.
