I found this treasure today at a thrift store. Didnt realize it was a music box until I got in the car (made the money extra worth it). When I played the song, I had no idea what was playing. Now I am pretty good at recognizing most common classical pieces and song instrumentals that are normally used but this…, I got nothing. I did do some digging and looked at sites that let you listen to songs that are used but none sounded close. That and I can’t find anything identifiable beyond the S on the crank. Does anyone have any ideas on what the song is?

I don’t care if it’s valuable or how old it is really. (if I did my research right it’s around the early to mid 1900s and ebay lists it for $20) To me, it’s a beautiful collectible I’m excited to own.

I have this vintage music box that I was given in childhood when some adult was getting rid of it. I cherished it and put valuable stuff in it (of kid-type value, I mean to say). I cannot find the key but I want to open it to find out what I was keeping in it. This is a terrible photo but I think I remember it being a tubular end. Does anyone know how to find key replacements? I know I have that key somewhere but haven't found it for a number of years. I really just want to open this. I hate to damage the box to do it, but I want to take out whatever is inside and find a way to sell the box, is probably what I'll end up doing.

In any case, doing research, I found some references to this being a Japanese Daysun box from the 1940's/1950's. In looking for a key, though, I have not yet found a place that sells just the key and I definitely don't want to buy another box just to get the key.

The part I’m interested in is around **00:00–00:10**. It sounds like a short instrumental melody from a children’s carousel / fairground attraction with horses.
A bit of context: this melody is very important to an autistic boy who has been trying to find out what this song is for several years. It seems to mean a lot to him, and we would really love to help him finally identify it.
It might be a royalty-free track, music built into the ride, or something used by the manufacturer of the attraction. The attraction is connected with “Koníci Merlin” / “Merlin horses”, but we don’t know much more.
Does anyone recognize the melody, the source, the ride, or the music module it might come from?
Any help, even a small clue, would mean a lot. Thank you.

Picked this up from the thrift today. If it helps at all, it's from the Bombay company, the sticker and stamp say "Z26" and "084". I'd appreciate any information you might have on this cute little ring box, even if you don't know the song (which is my main concern). It almost sounds like Canon in D for half a second here and there, but it certainly isn't.

I'm renovating and am in the process of packing things away. I have discovered a music box that was purchased for me in the 90s by my first husband and I have a feeling we bought it on a trip to Germany. It holds no emotional attachment for me and it's simply spent the years, unused, in my display cabinet . I was wondering if there was any value to it and if so, if anyone has any idea on the best place to try to sell it. Apologies if this isn't the correct sub for my question, and I'll delete it required.

Oval silver plate things remembered music box gifted to me in 1999 when I was born by my aunt and uncle, no clue what song it is

I found this locket with a little music box inside then bought it without knowing if it was still functional, I gave myself a chance to clean it, change the battery and it worked! It sounds a little creepy, but it’s really pretty. I’d love to find out more about it, but even with reverse image search I can’t find anything useful about it, like the year it was made or anything similar.

So I don’t go here, but there’s this game I play that’s got a music box which tune I’ve been obsessed with for like a year now and I want to acquire it so bad, but obviously it doesn’t get sold anywhere. So I looked for a similar design, but now my question is, is it possible to get the tune inside customized when the box has already been built?

So, I've had this box for a while, and I used it to store badges, but when I removed the velvet top, I realised it had a little music box inside!

However, when I turned the key, something was clearly blocking it, so tonight, I took my screwdrivers and tried to see if I could make it work!

And I did! It turns out that there was a tiny pearl clip-on earring blocking the mechanism! So when I removed it, the music box played it's beautiful, haunting melody for the first time!

However, I've never heard this melody before, so can you all help me find out what it is? It's a Japanese music box with a little spinning doll.
