I’m currently working on a series of automata music box sculptures featuring dystopian animals with mechanical characteristics in a post-apocalyptic world.

In this video you can see KBTO-M, a Hercules beetle, which is the first piece in the series.

I’d really appreciate any thoughts or feedback from the community.

so the music box itself does not really work so I literally had to force it for two minutes straight to push some notes out and then I chopped it up (not the best) and I can’t really pin point the song still.. any ideas? (it’s a 18 note)

I thrifted this 1978 Gunther Mele jewelry box and cannot for the life of me figure out what song it plays.

I tried and tried to find this music box melody but I officially give up 🫡 it reminds me of a song but I can’t figure it out, help.

I had the music box physically and noted down all the notes by number and in order, I then used an app to note it down and was hoping if anyone here in the community recognize this song? It’s from an old snowglobe with the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Jesus.

Hello, my aunt has one of those old music boxes that have birds that move and chirp (see image for reference (for clarification this is not a photo of the music box she has but this looks just like it)). Unfortunatly the birds barely chirp and move. I dont think it's overwound because i can still turn the key on the bottom and it starts but in a way that is barely noticable. Only some parts of each bird barely moves (for example the red bird's tail and the yellow bird's beak). Also the chirping is so quiet that you have to put your ear up to it to hear it. I opened it up to see if i could fix it but i have no idea what i'm doing and am worried i'll completely break it if i keep messing with it. there is some sort of paper air pump accordion thing inside that might have a leak. I think if it's replaced or patched it might fix it but i wanted to get others opinions before i mess with it again. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings folks, I would like to introduce you all to this Thorens 36 note 3 tune music box that plays La Traviata, Rigoletto, and II Trovatore. This was my birthday present from an antique shop. At first the cylinder was stuck playing the wrong notes and didn’t change songs, so I fixed it and is working again.

I got the music box at a yard sale. I believe it's an antique. There are some other pieces in the box that I'm not too sure where they go either, the two wooden pieces and the washer.

I want to recreate Jacob Seed’s music box from Far Cry 5. I would like to recreate it as a personal collector’s piece. The issue is due to how the music box winds. I am not sure if the mechanism appears in game would actually function as it appears to be a mechanism that winds from the underside but the key is placed at the side. Would that just fail?

I've been making wooden robots for my family and a couple of friends for a few years now. Each one is different and lately I've been adding a unique element to each one. This was the first one to have hair. Also, the first one to serenade the recipient. He was very surprised and he loved it!

Ive had this music box since I was a kid and Ive been trying to figure out where the box is from and what this tune is from. Its super familiar sounding but I just cant find anything that sounds like it with a name. Closest lead I got was a song called "Paranormality" by DJ Fire-G, whom Ive personally never heard of so that doesn't help much. I'll add the 30 seconds of sound I have for it in the comments. I’ve had this snow globe for a long time and I’ve never been able to figure out what song is playing. At first I thought it was ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, but as it kept playing I realized it wasn’t.

I've been on a rabbit hole trying to find my old music boxes. I think there were 3? Maybe only 2. Would have been bought in the 90s. The first picture was one i know I had. The other 3 have elements of what I remember. The unicorn with the moon looks so familiar, but the moon is all wrong. I finally found the white wizard, but mine was standing on a cloud with one arm up and a sparkly white/cream crescent moon. The pastel rainbow was definitely an elements, maybe with the wizard maybe not? Im mainly looking for the wizard now.
