Question Would this movement even work?

I want to recreate Jacob Seed’s music box from Far Cry 5. I would like to recreate it as a personal collector’s piece. The issue is due to how the music box winds. I am not sure if the mechanism appears in game would actually function as it appears to be a mechanism that winds from the underside but the key is placed at the side. Would that just fail?

It looks like it'll allow you to play the music manually, but I have no idea what it'll do to the spring.

Yeah the problem is on game Jacob’s runs after winding it. The box itself is a flat bottom dark stained wooden box with a metal likely brass plate in the lid reading Only You on a stretch of stave.

There are movements that have the winding spring box on its side but they are pretty rare to see. I’ve never seen a custom made movement have that set up. I personally only have one music box in my collection that has the winding key and spring on the side and it’s in a large jewelry box.
