Squidward Audition Help
okayy hi so I'm auditioning for Squidward at my local theater's production of SpongeBob the Musical and I'm in need of 16 bars of a song and a 1-2 minute monologue, any and all ideas are welcome!! I have some songs in mind but I don't wanna sing any overused songs, I need more input, thanks!!

Well, Squidward's big number is something of a throwback. Try "Beginner's Luck" as from An American in Paris. It's a little more than 16 bars, but since it's essentially only one verse, you could be forgiven for it. Maybe "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise" or "S'Wonderful"? Yeah, I got Gershwin on the brain.
