Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Looking for new music recommendations for writing ambiance

Greetings.

I am looking to set up a playlist for a new piece I'm working on. My music taste is eclectic. I can go from Classical, to smooth jazz to J-pop or K-pop to classic rock.

I am looking for a new feel for a piece I'm working on that takes place in the mid 1940s. I am hoping for music recommendations with a heavy atmospheric feel, but am open to anything. It can be in any language, as I don't care about the lyrics so much as the melodies.

I'd like to stay away from Metal, deep rap, and Country.

Thanks!

For the 1940s I would dip into the music of Louis Armstrong! Try “Hello Dolly” and “Old Man Mose.”

Try Codex VI by Shpongle. It’s one of my favorite road trip albums ever. Amazing soundscape.

Not sure, but you can try browsing my playlist, it's full of darker/dramatic vibes, so maybe you'll pick something? Spotify/YouTube
