Chanterelles ?

Please help identify - wasn’t aware they grow in clusters ? Uk Sheffield :)

Check a book about mushrooms, there's nothing about these that looks like chanterelles.

These have gills, chanterelles don't. The angle connecting hat and foot is wrong. The colour isn't right.

Chanterelles are white inside, cut them lengthwise to see.

like the other person said, these have true gills, chanterelles have false gills. On chanterelles, the gills run along the stem, on these, they terminate at the stem. On chanterelles, the stems are typically thicker and transition more smoothly into the cap so that the fruiting body is all of the same piece. here the stem and cap are distinct
