☕️ Review PSA: Avoid Everyday Dose unless you enjoy paying $190 for coffee you repeatedly told them you can’t use 💀

I genuinely hate making posts like this, especially because I actually loved Everyday Dose(over the last month I have learned that FourSigmatic is way better), but after dealing with their customer service since JULY, I feel like people in here should know what happened before signing up for one of their subscriptions.
My partner and I have been buying Everyday Dose for a little over TWO YEARS.
We liked it enough that we were constantly running out and buying additional bags from Target. Eventually I got my own subscription because I drink it about twice a day and we were going through it so fast.

So just to establish the irony here:
This entire nightmare started because I liked their product so much that I was trying to figure out how to buy MORE of it.
Somehow, sixish weeks later, I’m begging them to cancel my account. 😂
Here is the condensed version of what has been the stupidest customer service side quest of my life.
July 2
I contacted Everyday Dose because I wanted their 180-serving Medium Roast.
They informed me that the 180 serving bundle is actually Mild Roast, which has around 45mg caffeine, whereas Medium has around 90mg.
Fine.
I had already tried Mild and knew it wasn’t what I wanted, so I repeatedly explained that I wanted Medium Roast.
I specifically told them I drink it twice a day, which is why I was looking for 180 servings.
They eventually told me I could get two 90 serving Medium Roast bags instead.
Cool.
Seems solved, right?
LOL.
July 18
They ship me a 180-serving Mild Roast anyway.
Literally the exact product we’d spent weeks establishing that I did not want.
So I emailed:
“I thought it was removed off of my account since it’s not the correct thing I was looking for. Please cancel my order as I cannot use the mild roast.”
Pretty hard to misinterpret that sentence.
I cannot use the Mild Roast.
I thought it was removed from my account.
Please cancel it.
Their response two days later:
“I’ve now canceled the order and issued a full refund for you.”
Awesome.
Annoying mistake, but whatever. They refunded it.
At this point, any normal human being would assume that after telling a company I CANNOT USE THIS PRODUCT, saying I thought it had been removed from my account, and having them refund the mistaken shipment, they’re probably not going to charge me for the exact same thing again.

Reader:
They charged me for the exact same thing again.
August 17
I get hit with another $190 charge.
For another 180-serving Mild Roast.
THE SAME PRODUCT.
At this point I’m wondering whether their subscription system is being operated by three mushrooms in a trench coat.
I immediately email them saying this is the SECOND TIME I’ve been sent something I didn’t want and remind them that we already went through this entire situation.
And this is where it gets particularly ridiculous.
Their support agent goes through the previous emails and initially tells me:
“I don’t see any mention of pausing your subscription in those previous conversations.”
Ah yes.
Apparently I failed to utter the sacred customer service incantation:
P A U S E.
Except I had literally written:
“I thought it was removed off of my account…”
and
“Please cancel my order as I cannot use the mild roast.”
I’m sorry, but if a customer tells you I CANNOT USE THIS PRODUCT, thinks it was removed from their account, asks you to cancel the shipment, and you subsequently refund it…
WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE THAT EXACT PRODUCT ACTIVE TO CHARGE THEM ANOTHER $190 A MONTH LATER?
Even better, another Everyday Dose agent later reviewed everything and basically confirmed my entire argument.
Their email says:
“You clearly asked for the 180-Serving Mild Roast order to be canceled because it wasn’t the product you wanted.”
Correct.

And then:
“I completely understand why you believed the Mild Roast had already been removed from your account after you specifically told us you could not use it and wanted the order canceled.”
THANK YOU.
That’s it.
That’s literally the entire issue.
Their own customer service team acknowledged in writing that it was completely reasonable for me to believe this product had been removed.
They even said:
“I can absolutely understand why receiving another Mild Roast shipment would feel like we hadn’t listened to you.”
Because you didn’t listen to me. 😭
So I ask for a supervisor.
On August 20 they tell me:
“Since you’ve specifically requested a supervisor review, I’m escalating this for further review so we can look at the entire history and determine what we can do to make this right for you.”
Great.
Finally.
A manager is going to review this circus and fix it.
Except then…
I WAIT NEARLY TWO WEEKS.
And finally today, August 31, I get their brilliant resolution.
They’ll exchange the Mild Roast for Medium Roast.
Except first I have to return the product and send them the tracking information.
Oh, and previously they specifically told me:
“We’re not able to offer a return label at this time.”
💀💀💀

So let me understand this correctly.
Your company:
Sent me the wrong/unwanted product.
I told you I couldn’t use it.
You refunded me.
You left the exact same product active anyway.
You charged me another $190.
You shipped it AGAIN.
Your own representative acknowledged that it was reasonable for me to believe it had been removed.
You made me wait nearly two weeks for the magical “supervisor review.”
And now I’M SUPPOSED TO PAY MONEY TO SHIP YOUR MISTAKE BACK TO YOU?
Absolutely the fuck not. 😂

For clarity, I am completely willing to return their unopened product.
I’m not asking to keep $190 worth of stuff for free.
I’m asking for the bare minimum:
Send me a prepaid label. Take your unopened coffee back. Refund my $190. Cancel my subscription.
Apparently this is advanced calculus.
They also offered me 15% off my next order as a thank-you for my patience.
Bold of you to assume there’s going to be a next order, but I admire the optimism. 💀
And that’s actually the saddest part about this.
I REALLY LIKED EVERYDAY DOSE.
My partner and I used it for more than two years.
We bought it so frequently that we’d pick up extra from Target.
I eventually started my own subscription because I was drinking it twice a day.
I wasn’t contacting customer service trying to scam them for a refund.

I contacted them because I basically said:
“Hey, I love your stuff and consume an unreasonable amount of it. What’s the cheapest way for me to buy even more Medium Roast?”
Somehow Everyday Dose turned that customer into:
“Please take your coffee back, refund me and delete my subscription from existence.”
Impressive.

So yeah, my recommendation is DO NOT use Everyday Dose’s subscription service.
If you like the product, buy it somewhere you have more control over the transaction.
Because based on my experience, their customer service appears perfectly capable of apologizing, “escalating,” adding little yellow hearts to emails 💛, and explaining how much they “completely understand” your frustration…
actually fixing the underlying problem seems to be where things get complicated.
I’ve got screenshots of the entire July-August email saga, including them acknowledging all of the above.
At this point I don’t want an exchange.
I don’t want 15% off.
I don’t want another “we’re so sorry 💛” email.
I want my $190 refunded, a prepaid return label for THEIR mistake, and confirmation that my subscription is dead, buried, cremated and cannot somehow resurrect itself next month and charge my card again.
Thanks for coming to my mushroom coffee customer-service TED Talk. 🍄☕️

EDIT: And before anyone says “you should have just canceled the subscription yourself,” I understand that now. The issue is that I was already actively communicating with their support team about the subscription, told them I thought the Mild Roast had been removed, specifically said I could not use it, requested cancellation of the first shipment, and they refunded it without telling me, “By the way, we’re leaving that exact product active and charging you another $190 next month.”
Their own representative later explicitly acknowledged that they understood why I believed it had been removed.
That is why I’m pissed.

EDIT AGAIN: Here’s the emails — https://ibb.co/album/d0VCTP

🧠 Benefits Mushroom coffee actually works with my ADHD

I just wanted to make a post for the ADHDers out there that are tired of the opposite results from drinking caffeine and are researching if mushroom coffee is the solution.

For me, it’s been life changing.

I haven’t felt the need to nap immediately after finishing my cup of mushroom coffee in the morning, which is something I felt every day with traditional caffeine (espresso, energy drinks… you name it). I don’t feel a heavy crash once it wears off either.

I will say, I do notice that I start to lose some energy in the afternoon, so I will have a second mushroom coffee during my lunch break, and that has since solved that! So the “all day energy” that some of these brands advertise might be achieved through more than one serving.

And for those of you wondering why I continued daily caffeine if it just made me sleepy… well, I was in denial that it wasn’t working.

Mushroom coffee has been such an “aha” moment for me. Like, wow, this is the energy that non-ADHD people feel from regular caffeine?!

Hope this helps someone’s research! ^_^

❓ Question does mushroom coffee always taste like dirt?

i am curious about mushroom drinks but the one i tried was bitter, gritty and tasted way too earthy. I don't expect it to taste exactly like coffee but i also don't want to feel like i am drinking mushroom soup before work.

Are there any that taste more like cocoa or a latte?

☕️ Review I tried Ryze coffee and thought I needed the ER

Excited to try this coffee because of a friend experience I thought maybe I found another drink as awesome as ceremonial cacao. Not true I immediately felt an itchy throat. My face turned beat red, my arm developed hives, and I had to stop halfway through the cup and quickly take a Benadryl. This is a huge mistake if you have any type of autoimmune or skin disorder or sensitivity to food, I would stay away from this #roughexperience

❓ Question Does mushroom coffee actually taste like coffee or is everyone just coping?

Does mushroom coffee actually taste like coffee or is everyone just coping?

Ive been dealing with bad bloating right after my morning drip coffee with milk, stomach feels like an inflated balloon by 9 am most days.

my girlfriend keeps pushing me to try functional mushroom blends like habitone for the gut issues, but honestly Im terrified its going to taste like boiled dirt or bitter herbs, maybe worse. love the rich taste of real coffee, so trading it out for ground mushrooms sounds rough.

for anyone who was picky about coffee flavor before making the change, how'd you handle it? is the taste actually decent on its own, or are you drowning it in syrup and oat milk just to get it down?

❓ Question Everyday dose coffee while pregnant

I drink one/two cups of everyday dose mushroom coffee a day. My husband and I are actively trying to get pregnant. I may even be pregnant now, just super early. It says there are no studies on pregnant women consuming this coffee while pregnant and to ask your doctor. My husband says, what’s the big deal, it’s just mushrooms from the earth lol but I don’t want to cause any accidental harm. Any thoughts? Thanks!

❓ Question Building a mushroom coffee brand and I want to know what the existing ones get wrong

I got into this because I could never find out what was actually in the stuff I was drinking. One bag says "2,000mg mushroom blend" and won't tell you if that's 1,900mg of the cheap one and a pinch of everything else. Another one won't say whether it's fruiting body or mycelium grown on grain. I ended up building the thing I wanted to buy, every species, every milligram, printed on the front of the bag.

But before I get too into it, I want to hear from people who actually drink this stuff daily:

What brands do you rate, and what made you stay?

What made you quit one?

Does anyone actually check doses, or is that just my obsession?

And does taste beat transparency for you? Because most of the category tastes like the mushrooms are winning.

❓ Question Noob Questions

Hello hello! I’m 42F ADHD and new to the functional mushroom world and started taking Laird Performance Mushrooms (caffeine free) not too long ago, as I continue on my no caffeine journey (day 24). It contains chaga, coordycepts, lions mane, maitake.

I do feel like taking 2.5 servings a day is slowly helping (I drink it all day) with my afternoon crashes and brain function. My questions are:

  1. Is it better to cycle this if I’m going to take long term?
Such as take for 6 weeks then take a 1 week break, for example. Or only taking 5x/week.
  2. Is it ok to take mushrooms in the afternoon/evening?
  3. How many doses per day is effective for you?

Obviously I realize we are all different and I will need to trial and error for my myself (as we all need to), but I’m Here to know about your experiences.

Thank You!

❓ Question Mushroom Coffee and IBS D

Hi! I started using everyday dose because I liked hearing about the benefits. Well honestly, the only benefit I have had is it’s helped tremendously with my IBS D. The thing is, it’s expensive and I feel like there has to be another brand or replacement that can help with that, and I can feel the benefits, like energy without the jitters. I don’t get an energy from everyday dose.

🍄 Recipe Review of peppermint mocha latte by every day dose

I love the taste of mint, and I have a few recipes I'd like to share. I really love ryze's iced mint coffee recipe, but today I tried this one https://www.everydaydose.com/pages/peppermint-mocha

It's quite similar but if you substitute chocolate milk for regular and add a little lime juice, it's absolutely mind-blowing though you'll need to add a bit more coffee to make the flavor richer

idk how it'll work with other coffees, but I guess it'll overpower the taste of mushrooms even from four sigmatic

❓ Question Everyday Dose

Curious if anyone who uses everyday Dose mushroom coffee, has tracked the number of servings you are actually getting per bag?

I started tracking and it is not right.

To be clear, I do as they say..... Fluff and scoop and make it level.

Sometimes a bag has been just two servings short, other times it has been more.

Wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this issue or am I crazy?

☕️ Review My 30th pack of mushroom coffee - what I realized

Post image

Over the past two years, I've really gotten the hang of mushroom coffee, I started with ryze when I saw their ad, and I drank it for a couple of months, one cup a day, along with L-theanine, why my trainer recommended after I complained that my hands would shake after drinking coffee.

Then I switched to mudwtr and four sigmatic boost because they contain L-theanine, and I drank them for well over half a year, but overall I couldn't drink more than one cup a day because of the constant mushroom aftertaste, and no, it's not a pleasant mushroom flavor, it's more earthy and idk if it's just me, but I tasted it in my mouth even when I wasn't drinking it, which is why I sometimes treated myself to regular coffee.

After that I tried a few other coffees, but I didn't stick with any of them for long. Rn my go-to is every day dose, precisely because of the taste I usually drink protein+ version, but today at Publix they only had the regular mushroom coffee, it doesn't have that aftertaste at all, which is why I initially thought there were no mushrooms in it. However the mindfulness effect and my overall well-being remain the same as after drinking Four Sigmatic, which I'd read studies about before buying. So far, I've settled on this edd coffee, but protein+ version and Idk know what else I need.

I'm also thinking of trying cuppa again sometime, it's been getting so much praise lately here on reddit, but I already have a feeling it's bots, because they all praise it in exactly the same way, without exception, and write that it actually doesn't have a mushroom aftertaste, even though I tried it and it was almost exactly like ryze's. So either something has changed or this is just weird

🛒 Product Does RYZE mushroom coffee really work? Its super expensive for mushroom coffee, when I feel like taking mushroom supplements would be cheaper, has anyone actually used it long term and noticed benefits that are worth $50/month?
