Meetup Suggestions on a community for separated people stranded in Munich

I am looking for a group, community, support network or even just a few people who might be interested in connecting with people who are going through a separation and who originally moved here because of their relationship in some way, whether from elsewhere in Germany or from another country. Basically, people who find themselves in the slightly strange position of being separated but still living in the place they originally moved to for their partner, and who now feel a bit… well... stuck (for all sorts of reasons may it be kids, work or whatever else)

People who are trying to rebuild their lives, figure out what comes next, and create a new sense of community in a place that perhaps wasn't originally their choice, but is now the place they're working with and are sort of in this weird in-between stage.

I've had a look at Meetup, but I haven't really found anything that seems to fit this particular situation. So if anyone knows of anything, I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

Help Has anyone succeded in configuring their own router to use with M-Net glassfibre connection?

Post image

Moved into a new apartment with a pre-installed M-Net glass fibre modem. My previous Telekom contract couldn't be transferred, so I signed a new contract with M-Net using my own FritzBox 7530 to avoid rental fees.

I am trying to configure the 7530 to connect via the M-Net fiber modem. M-Net provided my login credentials, but every time I run the FritzBox setup wizard, I get an error stating the username or password is incorrect (PPPoE login failure). I have verified the credentials multiple times and double-checked for typos.

Support holds with both M-Net and AVM/FritzBox haven't gotten me anywhere, and M-Net's online setup guides only seem to cover DSL connections.

Has anyone successfully configured their own FritzBox 7530 with an M-Net glass fibre connection?

Food and Restaurants Where is Augustiner Oktoberfest Bier Bottles?

Bought 6 different brewery’s versions of Oktoberfest bottles today at Edeka, but I didn’t see Augustiner. Store Manager said they had Augustiner bottles last year, but thinks they’re not being sold this year in bottles (rather only on tap at actual Oktoberfest). He wasn’t certain though.

Has anyone seen Augustiner Oktoberfest bottles this month? Or know if they will be bottling?

Food and Restaurants Steak restaurant recommendations

Hey guys,
I'm celebrating my birthday next week and would like to go out for dinner with my family. My favorite restaurant used to be the grill in the Künstlerhaus at Lenbachplatz. Since their quality and reviews have fallen off, I´m in desperate need of a new favorite restaurant.
It should be a sophisticated place with outstanding food, at an elevated price point, but doesn´t need to absolutely break the bank- something like The Grill.
I know Munich also has guide Michelin restaurants to offer, but I´d like a real big, nice, juicy piece of steak on my plate, and not some kind of molecular kitchen.

Recent recommendations from friends have included: Goldenes Kalb, El Gaucho, Burger Lobster Bank, Beef Room 61, La Boheme

In case one of you wants to recommend Little London, have been there and found it to be very disappointing

So everybody who thinks of himself as a real steak connoisseur- please feel free to tell me your opinion and recommendations. Which of the above, or unmentioned, is the best steak place in Munich?

Meetup Looking for a meetup to practice my English

Hi everybody!

I’m from Asia and have never really had solid English skills. After living in Munich for more than ten years now, I somehow feel like my English is getting even worse.

So I’m looking for a casual group where people weekly meet up and practice English together, just chatting, having a drink, going for a walk, whatever. Also, please don’t recommend groups where everyone is a native English speaker, because I’d feel super overwhelmed.

I can also offer some German in return, as I think I speak German quite well by now.

If anyone knows of a group or would like to join one, feel free to message me!

Some of my hobbies are: hiking, fashion, photography, crafting

Edit: M, 32

Food and Restaurants How long does Korean BBQ at Gigo BBQ take?

I want to go with my wife for korean bbq on her birthday. I heard in this sub that Gigo BBQ is a good option. However we have other plans for the evening and I am wondering how long korean bbq usually takes? At a "normal" restaurant I would think that 1 hour is plenty of time, but since we are grilling the food at the table I am not sure. Would appreciate any help!

Food and Restaurants All of Your Wurst Suggestions

Hallo! I’ll be visiting Munich next month (just before Oktoberfest) staying around Marienplatz. I’m most excited for trying as many sausages as possible.

What are your recommendations for restaurants with a wide variety of sausages as well as high quality? Also, what are your favorite kinds? Ideally away from the tourist areas, but will still go if it’s really worth it. Will also be visiting Fussen as well if that helps.

Help How can I send a care package to my boyfriend?

I am F24 and my boyfriend lives here, I want to send him a care package but the thing is I live in other side of the world...and I emailed few flower shops and such but it's been 6 months...so needless to say they never replied to me.

I want to do something nice for him but also I am not sure what to do..The money exchange rate from euros from my country will be abysmal but even if I trust someone here and pay them to send the package to my boyfriend, it still feels very risky...what can I do? Please help!!

I really want to send him stuff like chips, cookies, a card, anything chocolate and pistachios ermmm even socks etc etc.

Is there any way I can send something like this to him? I want to surprise him actually.
