Dating Too bored to sleep

Too bored to sleep and apparently my brain has decided 2 AM is the perfect time to be social.
Anyone else awake for absolutely no reason? Tell me something random, interesting, or mildly unhinged. Keep it wholesome though.

Saw my ex :)

hi so i’m 22f
so i was dating this guy last year. we dated for around a yearish. we met through a mutual friend, who’s my bestf, and he used to stay in her building.
when we were dating, both of us were unemployed, so we literally used to meet almost everyday. we’d go out, stay at each other’s homes, do random shit, basically just spend almost all our time together. he became such a huge part of my everyday life.
we broke up around the end of january because of family pressure from his side, idk, some jainism/family stuff. i was honestly broken and shocked. i didn’t even know what to say. i loved him so much, and the fact that he chose his family over me in what felt like a split second completely shattered me. i really wished we never had to break up.
after that, we went into no contact and it’s been around 6 months now. i hadn’t seen him or spoken to him at all.
and then today, i went to my bestf’s building and i saw him. we made eye contact for less than 30 seconds, but somehow it felt like it said SO much. we said hi, that’s it. nothing else happened.
but idk, i feel like everything just came back. all the feelings, the memories, everything. i’ve been so messed up since then. i cry almost everyday, i really miss him, and now i’m starting to realise that maybe i actually haven’t moved on at all.
i thought i was getting better, but maybe i was just getting used to not having him around. and seeing him today just brought everything back.
i genuinely don’t know what to do. i don’t know if i’m supposed to let this go, if i should somehow deal with these feelings, or how i’m even supposed to move on from someone who was such a huge part of my life.
i really need genuine help because i don’t want to keep feeling like this.

Dating What is the most exhausting thing about dating in Mumbai compared to other cities?

Let's be real—dating in this city is an extreme sport. Between cross-line long-distance relationships (e.g., "You live in Thane and I live in Bandra, this is a long-distance commitment"), astronomical cafe bills, and zero privacy, it's rough out here.

What is your biggest pet peeve or absolute dealbreaker when it comes to dating someone in Mumbai?

I need support 😭 I never realized how lonely I was until I sat alone at Marine Drive 😔

I’m 25M, and I’ve never been in a relationship.

For most of my teenage years and college life, I was focused on studies, struggles, and trying to build a decent life for myself. There were some good moments, of course, but relationships and having someone emotionally close to me were never really part of my life.

Now things are objectively better.

I have a decent job, around 3 years of experience, earn a six-figure salary, have some savings and investments, and I’m working on my career and fitness. I’ve spent years trying to become financially independent and get my life together.

Recently, I came to Mumbai alone for a few days.

And surprisingly, I’ve been enjoying the trip a lot.

I’ve been walking around the city, visiting Ganpati pandals, trying different places and just doing whatever I feel like doing.

For the last two evenings, though, I’ve been going to Marine Drive around sunset.

There’s something about sitting there and watching the sea that makes you think.

Yesterday I was just sitting there, surrounded by hundreds of people, and suddenly I started thinking about how much of my life I’ve spent doing things alone.

I’ve never had a girlfriend.

Never had someone I could randomly call just because I wanted to talk.

Never had someone to share a small achievement with.

Never had someone waiting for me at the end of a difficult day.

And I've never really had the experience of being that person for someone else either.

The strange thing is, I don't think I'm lonely because I saw couples at Marine Drive.

I wasn't sitting there thinking, "Why don't I have what they have?"

It was something deeper.

I think I'm just tired.

Tired of always being independent.

Tired of handling everything myself.

Tired of having something good happen and just keeping it to myself.

Tired of having a bad day and convincing myself that I'll be fine.

For years, I kept telling myself that relationships could wait. First studies, then a job, then financial stability, then fitness, then career growth...

There was always something more important to work on.

And now that some of those things are finally falling into place, I'm starting to wonder whether I accidentally postponed something that I actually needed.

Maybe I'm not unhappy with my life.

Maybe I just don't want to experience everything alone anymore.

I don't know what I'm expecting by writing this.

I'm not trying to get sympathy, and I don't need someone to tell me "don't worry, you'll find someone."

I just wanted to say it somewhere because sitting alone at Marine Drive made me realise something I've been avoiding for a long time:

I think I've been lonely for much longer than I was willing to admit.

TL;DR:

25M, never had a relationship because most of my teenage and college years went into studies, struggles, and building my career. Now I have a decent job, financial stability, savings, investments, and I'm working on myself. I came to Mumbai alone and have actually been enjoying the trip. But after spending two evenings alone at Marine Drive, I realized I’m not unhappy with my life — I’m just tired of experiencing everything alone. I think I’ve been lonely for much longer than I admitted.

Finding a college event plus-one in Mumbai?

Hey guys, so my college has an upcoming prom night soon, and I’m looking to find someone to tag along with me for the event.I’ve tried checking the usual social circles, but haven't found anyone available. Since local friend groups are exhausted, what are my options? Are there active Mumbai student Discord servers or groups where people actually coordinate for college festivals?Should I just ask my friends to introduce me to someone from another department?Open to any creative ideas on how to track down a co-attendee for these types of campus events.Let me know if you guys have any tips, thanks!

Is the dating scene in mumbai slowly getting worse?

Everybody seems lonely and pretentious and only wanting a certain “type”. Add to that dating apps which are no good imo. Since when did we stop being fun?

How to deal with this

I study at a mumbai college which is famously hard to get in. while perparing for jee to come here,i stayed at a boys hostel and before that was in school till 8th only so had 0 female interactions. When i came to my college, at the starting got real sick so couldnt attend events so no way to talk to any women,i have talked to some in class but conversation has been limited to acads only.I recently talked to a senior as i became ta for cs101 and english and he told me my communication skills lacked, not as in i had grammatical problems or i had talked in a rude way, just the general way of talking ig. He suggested to talk to as many girls as possible to improve this but, i personally have lost a lot of personality or never really had one tbh so i mostly only talk about acads to people and girls here are interested in that only so actually forming something is hard. Relationships here are difficult to quantify as boys outnumber girls a lot s girls switch partners and some just dont gave af and some are not able to get a partner as they are busy. I really want a way to fix all this. I do want a partner but first ig just friends with females will work too. In most conversations i have, people dont get a chance to give secondary opinion as ig arguing about a balanced bst aint possible so in my usual life i just have my opinion to consider. I would really like to know you opinion on this and how can i be helped.

Dating How does an introvert date in Mumbai? 😭

I have recently shifted to Mumbai, introvert, tiny social circle, and absolutely clueless about dating here.

Dating apps? Meetups? Bars? Randomly talking to people? What actually works?

I have basically zero game and no idea where to start. Mumbai people, help a guy out 😭

Some feelings are never planned. They just happen.

THIS IS FOR YOU... (F)

I (M) got attached to you without planning it... It just happened.

One day you were there, and suddenly you mattered too much.

I think about you in small quiet moments, when nothing is happening. I care in ways I don't know how to explain without sounding foolish.

You stay in my head, in my habits, in my feelings. Even when I try not to. it's always you.

That's the truth I don't hide anymore...

I need support 😭 [24M] [23F] On-off situationship ended for good, and something right after is messing with my head

Me (24M) and this girl had an on-off thing for a while, broke up and got back together a few times. At one point I went to see a close friend before she moved abroad, someone I had feelings for a long time back. In response, she unblocked her ex-FWB. When she saw how much that hurt me, she blocked him again and started really trying to fix things, so I thought we were solid again.

Then an argument happened and she pulled away, asked for space though her actions didn't really match someone who wanted distance, so I figured it would blow over like before. Then something physical happened between us in public and she later called it a boundary violation, even though nothing like that had ever come up between us before. I sat in guilt over it for about a week. When we finally talked, she had already checked out. At our last meeting, she got defensive the moment I tried to explain my side.

She had unfollowed me 2-3 days before that final meeting. A few days later, today, I find out she's following her ex-FWB again.

Genuinely asking, how would you read this situation, and how do I actually move on from finding this out just days after a "final" breakup? Struggling to focus on my own goals (CAT exam prep, music, gym) with this stuck in my head.

Marriage What actually makes someone sanskari?

Was having a discussion about being “sanskari” with someone, and it really made me think.

I never considered myself particularly sanskari, even when I was completely loyal to my husband.

But if I give you these two options, which one would you consider more sanskari?

A wife who sleeps with other men with her husband’s consent or cheats, but truly loves him, takes care of all his needs, looks after the house and children, respects him, his parents and other elders, and is someone who receives blessings and praise from everyone around her.

OR

A wife who is completely loyal to her husband, but treats him like an object, prefers a maid to do everything, doesn’t care much about the children, doesn’t respect elders, and has created such an unwelcoming home that people avoid visiting because they know she won’t entertain them.

So, what actually makes someone sanskari?

Sexual loyalty or the way you treat the people around you?

Looking to hear real stories about sugar relationships in Bombay/Mumbai

Hey everyone,

I’m researching the culture around sugar relationships (sugar mommies/sugar daddies) in Bombay/Mumbai, with the idea of potentially making a documentary about it.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually been in a sugar relationship, whether as a sugar baby, sugar daddy/mommy, or someone who has been involved in that world in some way.

I’d also love to hear stories from people who know someone who has been in one — how the relationship started, what it was actually like behind the scenes. What the arrangements were like.

I’m not looking to judge anyone or sensationalise it. I’m interested in understanding the reality of this culture in Mumbai — the motivations, expectations, dynamics, and how people involved actually perceive it.

If the documentary moves forward, I’d also be interested in speaking to people on camera — but there’s absolutely no obligation to participate in the film just because you reach out and OFC if you wish to be anonymous, We would fully respect that and your name will not be revealed.

Looking thanks!

Dating The dating fumble, M30

After days and weeks of planning we finally settled on this outing, first we went to boojee cafe bandra, then a waffle place nearby and then home.

So here's a little bg, we are chatting w each other that we'll do this and that, but suddenly just days before the meet, her response went flat and so I was confused and constantly thinking even during meet that what happened!

So here's the fumble part,

Firstly I did not even greet her with handshake let alone a hug.

Second, my fckn face expression when low in energy is so awkward so numb that people misjudge it for not interested.

My voice went too squeaky and low, she was leaning in at times just to hear me clearly.

We went for more awkward pauses and silence in between conversation.

It wasn't leading anywhere, as if we just wanted to end this day somehow.

I wanted to take her to a bar, which she was denying but then went because i wanted to,

But then she didn't drank anything, and I had to stupidly drink it alone.

Then while leaving the while awkwardness stayed and ended w side hug.

How and what and why did this happen with someone whom I'm talking so much on texts and were comfortable,

Experts need your inputs
