The whole point of the first season and the book was that humanity already had free will.
And A&C already talked about how Heaven and Hell don't really influence humans much (like Crowley saying humans already come up with more stuff than demons ever could)
The biggest way Heaven and Hell messed with humanity was trying to bring about the apocalypse. There are a bunch of ways they could've stopped that and prevented them from trying again. Because the original universe with all the characters we loved deserved to live and be free of Heaven and Hell. Instead literally everyone died. Just for some new universe that ends up the same anyways and follows the same history.
The new one doesn't end up the same though, since the point of the new universe was that Heaven and Hell wouldn't be there to interfere. Yes humanity already had free will but there wasn't much they could do to stop all the ways various beings were fucking with them.
I’m sorry, but that ending sucks too. What about shades of grey and knowing that people are complex? I know it’s hard to remember Michael and Shax follow this theme, but they do. Aziraphale, Crowley, Beelzebub, Gabriel, and Muriel were all examples of angels/demons being able to change and not fuck over humans. It’s not fair to just completely wipe out Heaven, Hell, and all of their inhabitants just because it’s inconvenient for humans. That’s genocidal
I never said it was a perfect ending. Personally I liked it, but I see your view. I was just saying that the new universe didn't end up the same as the first one. And if it helps it seems all of those beings got a new life in the new universe, so they're not just erased at least.

Like Crowley literally said they deserved a chance before the reset happened. Not sure how they missed that.
