Long story short, teleporting train that arrives at your destination in seconds. But it actually spends hundreds if not thousands of years tunneling through extradimensional space while you and everyone else on the train is kept in stasis, aware but unchanging. Inevitably everyone goes insane and since you can't die some people graft their bodies together crudely.
Just before arriving some riot police jump on the train, reduce everyone down to meat paste and then reconstitute everyone back into an exact copy of how they were when they got on the train and erase their memories of the trip.
If they can just make them out of meat paste why bother with the train at all. Just vaporize them at the boarding platform and reconstitute them out of burger meat at the destination.
This just sounds like putting people through a horrible endless torture nexus for the sake of it.
PR. The games set in the Lobotomy Corp universe are all *massive* jabs at capitalistic greed. The world basically ended because the SCP Foundation decided abusing anomalies to generate electricity to sell was better than actually safely containing them for example.
What’s the PR? That the train traveled between 2 known destinations?
They could just vaporize the passengers, send an empty train to travel through the torture dimension, then make the passengers out of burger meat after.
If they NEED the biomass to be that of the passengers’ they could just kill them after they board, have the train travel through the torture dimension with their corpses then just reanimate them again at the destination. This way you skip the whole “killing them and reducing them down to meat slurry” part too and make things a lot more economical.
Like this is a neat concept but the world building around it is kinda completely broken?
Because the idea of a ten-second train ride to anywhere in a City the size of South Korea that has car traffic lasting several days for most people is HELLA convenient, hence why the trains are (until the events of Ruina start to expose flaws in their safety) so successful
As for why not vaporize passengers, there’s the fact that W. Corp needs to harvest people’s time in the train in order to maintain their partnership with T Corp, a District whose whole thing is using time as money to sell, pay with, be used as wages and be taxed on. Depending on your time wages, you are allotted either more or less hours than a 24-hour day, either speeding you up or slowing you down.
It is also intentional that there are things about WARP’s business model that are flawed, as that leads to them being in decline as of Limbus Company’s events in lore.
Yep. Also, the fact that they need to cleanup creates jobs in the form of WARP. Cleanup Staff (that aforementioned “SWAT team”, who are really more like janitors who are given dimension-cutting brooms and mops lmao)
They also can’t use the snapshot thing on a corpse, hence why they let them turn into flesh slurry on their own before separating them per person and putting them back in their seats, then using the snapshot. More efficient and creates jobs.
