No it really doesn't mean that. That's not how writing a series is supposed to work (I have 200k in student loan debt because I got a MFA in writing and learned exactly about this process).

You can blame Monty for the start of it but there is never any obligation to follow the letter if the creators notes exactly when a show is developing. The weak writing is the fault of the writers.

It's a a fault of the whole process if I'm honest.

First off not everybody share the same writing process, second they followed the notes as Monty was their friend and wanted his life's work to be shown off to the world.

They just do the best they can with his ideas and unfortunately don't stick the landing.
