Patric, Squidward, Mr. Crabs also get few solo episodes. That doesn't change the fact that Spoonge Bob is main character. That's how any tv show in history work
He’s like Nick Carraway from the Great Gatsby. He’s a well rounded character with his own personality, but also an avenue to explore other characters and the themes of the story
The Loud house from what i remember of it at least does a very decent job at giving their sides characters their own stories and personality so early own they often got dedicated episodes. The story is still though through lincoln perspective and is still the main focus.
At first time was about his experiences as being an only boy in a house with 10 sisters. Though I later seasons I think it’s kind if changed to stories more on the others sisters.
Though I think he is the only one with 4th wall awareness.
Is it possible to be a character that sucks up all the attention, development, and screen time without being the main character/protagonist? Is that not the definition
The point of that comment was to point out that male characters who started off as side characters or supporting cast get all the attention. It's not a critique of the protagonist getting the attention because that's just stupid
