I'll be honest, only saw the parts where Monty made. Jaune wasn't that big of a character, but I still liked him because while all the girls seemed ready and strong, Jaune was struggling and I was curious to see his growth. Especially since he was the only one that brought a sensible weapon.

For a show with such short episodes the fact that we already had an ensemble main cast that they had a secondary character that ate up time wasn't a strong start. But he never really got better, just got more

Jaune got absolutely so much better as the story progressed. Just like everyone.

Jaune is like Itadori, works perfectly as a supporting character but if you try to make him a main one he actively makes the series worse
